A new up and coming company.

https://spacelegats.com/

They already have five Primarch sculpts for sale as shown below. Warning however, these are half again as tall as the plastic Guilliman and are designed for painting, not gaming!

They're also prepping for a kickstarter which will be selling IG Tank variants and Greater Daemon models designed for wargaming with. Check out the facebook:-

Those vehicle designs look reminiscent of a past Kickstarter but I'm not sure which one.

I think it's a bit late to die on the hill of 'these models look like something from 40K which means they're unoriginal hacks'. Given Maxmini, Kromlech, Spellcrow, Kabuki, Scibor, MAM, and many many more I can't even begin to name.

I kind of like the leman russ kit, in an 'Advance Wars' kind of way.

It is at moments like these that I think of John Malkovich explaining why he does films like Con Air.

The money paid for a brainless blockbuster (although I do love the movie myself) allows him to do more artistically satisfying movies that pay virtually nothing.

Companies like these do the 40K homage stuff because they know it will sell and potentially allow them to branch out into their 'own' products. Some don't but it gives the customer more choice anyway.

Now, back to my 55 Vostroyans (sorry, Wargame Atlantic gas mask equipped, bearskin wearing Les Grognards!).

Dunno. I buy none of those so hardly too late. I support guys with talent. Copying others doesn't take talent. I buy non gw stuff when it's it's own thing.

Where did you see this tank? I can't find it on their website.
Thanks!

EDIT: N/m, found it on their Facebook page. Odd how apparently they're planning a kickstarter and have images of a bunch of new models, but no mention of any of that on their website.

As you mentioned the tanks do have a certain Advance Wars charm, I just wish they hadn't made them quite so tall - they'd look much better and more realistic (insofar as anything like this could be considered "realistic"...)

You buy GW miniatures to support guys with talent? Well that's certainly a roundabout way of reaching your destination.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

The tank is a perfect 3rd party product, it's an original design but with 40k guns.

Weren't these crowfunded? I thought I remembered seeing it these crowdfunded though I can't remember if it fully funded. If these are the same ones then they're FW avatar sized.

The tanks remind me of the Shieldwolfminiatures kickstarter, and or the Nuclear Shrimp effort. I don't think either were funded. I'm kind of interested.

It does look good. Kind of Primaris tank vibe, but for guard. Not my cup of tea at present, but you could do a cool guard thing with more modern looking armor.

Yep, that's a really pretty render. Far superior to any other Chimera-styled alternative.

My thoughts exactly... I'm currently putting together a Guard army using Maelstrom's Edge SecDef (blog thread here!) and these tanks look like a perfect fit.

That IFV rear end looks incredibly complicated. Seems like there's a large multi-part door which folds down to allow troops in and out of it, then a hatch in the upper half of that door and then a window and a firing port in that hatch?

Kickstarter preview is up - going live in two days -

Linky

Prices are a little higher than I would have liked, particularly given that they're 'discounted' KS prices, but they're not too out of line with similar resin vehicles.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also worth mentioning that as well as the tanks, the Kickstarter includes a bunch of Greater Daemon stand ins.

There was a Facebook post yesterday showing a not-Taurox which is supposedly also being added, but it appears to have vanished today.

Those tanks are totally ace. Design styling reminiscent of a range of familiar and well loved tanks, with a 40k edge. The track routing design is totally bonkers, but it looks like that can be hidden easily enough. It's obviously as high as it is to match the GW silhouettes, but they look like they kitted with bogey suspension rather than torsion bar, which would tend to increase the height anyway.

I backed the Nuclearshrimp tank kit, and while it is a lovely kit it took almost 2 years for them to actually deliver the thing. I may even build it one of these days...

I'd go for that truck. Guess I need to take a closer look at the KS

Well, the kickstarter is live. Didn't see the truck so far.

The truck looks okay, though the turret looks way too big for the actual vehicle. Trucks are generally tall, and don't handle heavy turrets that well. I know it's useful because it matches the Chimera turret, but it's a bit of a miss for me.

Under the couch

Yeah, comparing it back to the Taurox the turret is a little large, but I would probably replace it with a missile launcher anyway, because, well, missile launcher.

I'm tempted to grab a truck, a Viking and a Cougar, but not sure I can really justify it at those prices. The truck would need proxy rules for 2nd ed anyway, so I may just go for the two tanks.

I must admit I don't really dig the turret but I'm sure I can find something to put up there.

I do like some of those tank, APC, SPA, and truck designs, but the price point is just too high for me to seriously consider them,

Same here, and resin vehicles always make me wary - too easy for large flat areas to be warped.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.
