Probably won't even get the Catachan Sergeant as Made-To-Order either which will definitely tick me off since those Event models are like gold dust otherwise.

To be honest, the lack of Guard even appearing in the background of things like the PA trailers and total absence from the lore as anything but throwaway lines - hell, even The Greater Good's fluff was more about the Planetary Governess than the Guard itself - makes me think either they're going to get a huge and total revamp down the line, or GW has designs to quietly let them take the place of what Sisters were.

Yes really. She's obviously modelled more as a radical whereas the design cues on the classic inquisitor aren't. One has typical Imperial accoutrements like rounded edges, an obviously earth origin (albeit cyber/geneticaly modified) pet, and Imperial weaponry whereas she has a xenos weapon, alien pet, and spikey armor details indicative of a slide towards chaos. You don't have to be 100% different to be "very" different.

I don’t think having spiky armor makes you “very different” while being posed exactly the same as a model that’s been around since 3rd edition.

The new inquisitor is very bland. We've had years of brilliant stuff coming out of the inquisimunda community, making use of GW's own creative outlets in the specialist games only to get something that looks too clean to be a radical with a spare shruiken catapuly awkwardly attached like baby's first kitbash.

Imagine how Dark Eldar feel. They've lost about half their codex in the last few editions. And I don't just mean 'moved to legends', I mean permanently gone.

But it's okay, at least this preview showed them that GW is fully capable of making cool, shadow-elf models. They just choose not to give any new units to Dark Eldar.

If you're using pose as the exclusive criterion to determine very different, you'll probably be consistently disappointed after almost 35 years of 40k model poses across dozens of lines unless you're a fan of the perched precariously on/leaning off/launching from a 5ft piece of terrain with some odd flame/swoosh/force/smoke effect to balance the model pose that the studio is increasingly fond of .

It wasn't just spikey armor. For example, I don't recall an Imperial model using a shuriken catapult since the original days of RT. That creature is also completely new to my knowledge and not the typical servo skull/bird/cherub that we typically get for pets. Before you invariably start to accuse me of being a GW fanboi or somesuch, I don't actually like the model and would never buy it or frankly even spend the time painting it up if it was simply included in a lot that I bought for other reasons. I simply acknowledge the differences in the design compared with the =I= stuff we've gotten in the recent and even distant past (pose obviously notwithstanding).

Early May - GW might be waiting on a formal date because end of May MIGHT see the lockdown start to lift so they might be wanting to wait until nearer the day as they might have some better idea of when they can re-open their factory.

Yeah, that is super annoying. As much as I like this Inquisitor model, I would much more like proper rules support for creating your own Inquisitors. Even in the WD article with the Inquisition rules most of the example conversions had loadouts that the rules didn't actually allow. It is just insane.

We got a replacement kit and a replacement character kit.

Both of which were at the absolute bottom of the list of things DE players actually wanted.

I mean...they were top for me but I'm obsessed with Incubi and think that they should expand the entire Incubi range to include lords, jet bikes, sky boards, chariots, battle suits and giant incubi Wraithknights.

But thats never going to happen.

Are you sure? Perhaps DE players with large legacy armies where both those models that were replaced were originally bought in metal; or with lucky (or hard work fix) finecast. However I know that Tyranid players and Eldar players would love (and do love) getting replacement plastics for current finecast models. Heck the Necron lord in the release event we just had is a replacement sculpt.

Goddamn those Shadow elves look great. It's nice to see some AoS shades being released.

I'm pretty sad that the Lumineth didnt get more though. I would have loved for more weird elves. I don't think that these are all the models the Aelves will get, but I wish I had just a little bit more.

She’s got a scar across the middle and she’s also frowning, and the painter, for some reason, chose the same colour for both.

A lot of businesses that are forced to close are doing similar things where they can. It's less predatory and more "we have running costs as we keep staff on so help us out". I know a lot of zoos and animal centres are asking for more donations and the like because for them the running costs are animal feed and the like.

It's less predatory and more essential for many in helping them through. Furthermore its not aiming for you to spend food money on it. There's a good number getting payments from the government to tide them over; whilst others are only working from home and not out of work. There's money in the system; not for all but for many. As a result companies and shops are keen to tap into it where they can.

I’m sorry, but this is just laughable.
GW are scummy for offering a discount?
So their prices are too high but when they offer a discount they are being scummy, got it.

Also, check back at previous limited run models, they range between £20-£25.
So these are actually in the middle.

So no, they haven’t hiked up the price to rip people off (they are still not cheap to be fair)
It’s more that people choose to “forget” details that counter their cries.

Exactly. They just do that regularly. And they'll keep on keeping on as long as people buy into their crap.
