There was talk of Dreadstar (comic by Jim Starlin) film and that could be epic.
Elric, yeah I could go for that.
Dreadstar would be awesome if it was a series of films rather than a one-off. There's too much story for just one installment.
Elric could be great or else truly terrible, depending on the director's/studio's buy-in to the concept.
Dreadstar has the most insane and absurd OOT origin EVAH.
After his parents were killed by Ice Bears, young Vanth Dreadstar (son of Sid and Marge Dreadstar) roamed the wastes until he found a cave and in the cave a sword forged from a star. So he went off and started hunting and killing Ice Bears into extinction when all of the sudden out of freaking nowhere, an evil alien empire invades and now he's like the Resistance Leader but then a wizard finds him and says he's the chosen one and leads him on a quest to find the 3 other even more chosen ones.
So after many struggles Dreadstar and the Wizard and the 3 Even More Chosen Ones fight their way to the center of the galaxy so they can blow the Infinity Horn while Dread and the Wizard fight off the Evil Empire. And that's supposed to save the galaxy from the Evil Empire. Except really it blows up the entire Milky Way Galaxy because the Wizard figured things were pretty much past saving.
Oops.
Five million years later, Dreadstar and the Wizard (who've been a suspended animation bubble) land on a world in another galaxy. Dreadstar promptly shoots the Wizard dead for lying to him and stomps off. He meets a nice lady and some cat people, gets married, settles down. Then Another Wizard comes by and says he needs Dreadstar to save this galaxy because it's caught in a destructive civil war between the Monarchy and the Church. And Dread is like, "yeah no, no more wizards, no more galaxy saving, I'm out". But then the Monarchy comes, kills all the nice cat people and Dread's wife so now he's like "You son of a bitch, I'm in".
All this happens BEFORE Dreadstar #1.
And then things get weird.
So Dreadstar is basically Double Batman Punisher Luke Skywalker Elric, Frodo.

Remember how, when Dreadstar moved from Marvel/Epic to First comics, Jim Starlin sort of ran out of either energy, enthusiasm, or ideas, and recapped the entire story for like ten pages an issue? And how he did it with terrible dot-matrix computer graphics? That was a hard slog, even for a fan like me.

I wish they'd done Roddenberry's "Assignment :Earth" series.
GR tried to run with the concept after NBC wouldn't do it and he couldn't associate with with trek anymore by making a pilot called "the questor tapes" but that only got to a pilot movie.

TV series I'd love to see:
With James May, Clarkson, and Richard Hammond all getting up there in years, I'd love to see them sit down and do a proper racing history show. If you're familiar with their "origins of national racing colors" bit, and their Ford v Ferrari, Audi v. Lancia, the Porsche 917, and Jim Clark pieces, this is what I'm talking about. A show/series devoted to showcasing and exploring some of motorsports greatest greats.
To date, most of the documentaries I've seen on motorsport are either extremely bland but dense with content, or they are highly stylized and quite shallow in content. . . Other than the national colors thing, the former TG guys sort of manage to ride the middle, where its done in their "style", has good content, but isnt so full that it becomes boring.

I blame the Robotech film rumors for HG keeping the license last year.

My favourite IP of all time is Robotech...but I'd rather they don't touch that one. Hollywood has shown it is fundamentally incapable of producing a quality mecha-driven film. I'd prefer they remake something crappy instead, like Robotjox. I'd just hate to see my favourite IP ruined by Hollywood...so....they need to drop the rumours that pop up every 3-4 years that it's in production. Just don't, please.
Give it to the Japanese company that did the live action Space Battleship Yamato... that was quite watchable.

Sandman TV series by HBO, GoT-style, no holds barred.
A shame Netflix did the Lucypher spin-off, but not the original story!

Would need HBO levels of money as whilst I like Lucifer I suspect toning it down into spooky Sherlock was for money reasons although theyve kept just enough source material to lure in us Vertigo faithful (I was convinced Trixe was a version of Elaine for quite a while)
Still unsure if mainstream telly is up for some of the strangeness and of course the casting will be wrong whatever they do
