This has legs!

Also, I'd like to see a TV adaptation of Christopher Hinz' Paratwa saga. And a movie based off Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime. And a big budget Legion of Superheroes show, capturing the warmth and charm of the old-school Legion. And a Redshirts movie. And a show based on Peter Clines' Ex- series about superheroes and zombies.

Oh, and a sequel to Dredd (in case nobody's mentioned that yet )

You're about the only other person I've seen mention the Paratwa saga ... You also know of the 'Ryche. Got to see Livecrime but the once (but that was also the ONLY time I've seen them live) - liked their stuff going back to "the warning" (when I first discovered them).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Did you ever catch the DC comics adaptation of Gemini Blood?

Livecrime was amazing - saw it at Hammersmith back in the day. Such a shame about Mindcrime 2

Yeah, then they did that legend of the rangers, which, frankly, sucked. Oh dear lord it sucked!

Firing ships weapons by hanging in a hologram and punching at images of the target ship?

And the gimmick they used to kill the last enemy ship was taken from an old episode of voyage to the bottom of the sea.

I'd rather see "Three World War" show up. It was pretty cool--and elements of it were used for "Predators".

Hey, you leave that alone! It was fantastic--provided one knew that we weren't going to get adaptations of the books and that it was before Butcher had a solid 'plan' for later in the series. If you've never read about it, you should try to find some of the stuff Butcher said relating to the development & cancellation (notably Nicolas Cage going to bat for him to be put on writing S2).

Some things I'd like to see? The Orion trilogy for WHFB put into a film. It could genuinely be condensed into a single film(which IMO can't be done with a bit of the lore for Warhammer or 40k). Alternatively the Sundering would make for a hell of a dark fantasy film, especially if the Focus is placed upon Alith Anar and his shadow war.

David Gemmell's 'Legend'

McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern as a series. Although a series based on the Brainship books, with a different Brain character featured each season would be cool.

I'll add another vote for a Dredd sequel. Also for a continuation of Firefly - either more series, more movies, or even an animated series, which would let them fill in some of the earlier blanks without having to get around the actors being so much older now. And would let them get Wash back in there...

The Deathgate cycle would be cool as a series, with a decent budget behind it. As would Dragonlance.

Ditto Robin Hobb's Liveship books.

I wouldn't mind a miniseries on SFC based on "the forever war."

A movie based on the reality of "Operation Pedestal" would be great. The actual truth of what happened is far better than any fiction.

They'd at least have to lead with The Ship Who Sang but yeah those and the PERN series could be good.

Jericho. Not a dragged out to death Lost style but a couple more succinct seasons or even episodes to show who nuked who, why the Vietnam era Communist fighters and modern transport planes were flying over rural USA...

I'd like to see a good WH40K movie. Preferably SM or IG based but not with the "other main character is a Chaos agent all along!!!!!!" twist. Some combat, some brothers in arms, some Xenos getting squished.

And on that vein also an adaptation of Armor by John Steakley.

I want/wanted a Predator Tv show -- big budget-- about https://avp.fandom.com/wiki/John_Schaefer

I'd also be keen on a TV miniseries based on Scalzi's Redshirts.

An adaptation of Cornwell's Arthurian books -- probably my favourite realistic take on the mythos, for a more fantasy orientated one one of Stephen Lawhead's tales.

Also like a proper version of the Dragonlance books -- maybe just the first 2 trilogies -- think it might be a bit much to adapt the 21,345 or so spinoff/related books. I believe Joe Manganiello is supposedly working on some version of this.

A more accurate version of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen -- the whole saga -- all the Bond stuff, the 1984 years right up to the Harry Potter/Columbine/Moonchild stuff.

Warhammer wise -- i 2nd the idea of a Gotrek and Felix series, I think their early adventures would be ideal for this, otherwise a big LOTR style version of the War of Vengeance/the Beard would be cool.

Because it was a different network(NBC rather than CW) that had it and they didn't really give it up. They also moved it around a bit and/or interrupted it and had some 'issues' in certain areas here in the US.

Same thing happened with Supergirl where CBS cancelled it...but they were willing to sell it on to CW.

From a wargaming standpoint, I wish they would give Bloodquest another shot to make it as a series.

I agree with the sentiment that Jon Carter deserves another shot and Dredd needs a sequel.

My 20 second pitch if in an elevator with Steven Spielberg would be:

JONNY QUEST!!!!! - w/ Harrison Ford as Dr. Quest and someone like Armie Hammer as Race Bannon. Then he can take his pick of precocious pre-teens for the the two boys.

...ahem... I do expect a percentage of the profit, Mr. Spielberg...

I would watch the hell out of a Johnny Quest movie, but I'd go for Adam Baldwin for Race and Sam Rockwell as Dr. Quest.

It warms my heart how many mentions Dredd has gotten in this thread. That movie was terrific, and I knew nothing about the character before even watching it. I'm honestly not even sure I ever saw the 90s Stallone version.

I'm gonna do 3 categories, 3 choices per. Here goes, in no particular order:

Films
1. Dredd sequel (like, hello)
2. Fury Road sequel
3. Heir to the Empire - this would have had to be a 90s production. It could've been amazing, certainly preferable to the prequels we got.

Videogames
1. Proper KOTOR sequel (no, the MMO does not count)
2. Freedom Fighters sequel (this was a totally boss tactical shooter from '03 that I'm sure not many people remember. It was like Red Dawn the videogame)
3. Rogue Squadron sequel (this series was so good!)

TV shows
1. Gentlemen Bastards - easily my favorite fantasy series ever, I would fething devour a TV show
2. Wheel of Time - I've only recently started reading these, I'm only on the second book. I think a TV show is actually happening though? Could be wrong
3. Revolution season 3+ - I'm probably the only person in the entire universe who actually liked this show so I understand why it was cancelled. I thought it was a lot of fun and would have loved to see where it went.

I agree with kotor and freedom fighters. Let's be real here though. The political landscape has shifted so much a game like freedom fighters would never exist today and a sequel will never happen now.

A dredds sequel would be awesome too. I never saw fury road sadly.

A special edition of "return of the jedi" featuring a post credit scene where Annaikin, Obiwan and Yoda are on the other side of the force and Annaikin says "Gosh, I can't believe I made it to the good afterlife after all the horrible things I did as darth vader!"

Yoda says "To the good afterlife, you will go not."

Annaikin is stunned "B-but I saved Luke and ended palpatine!"

"Saving one's own son, redemption does not earn you. Many, many you murdered, justice for them comes now."

Obi wan interjects "We staged the scene with you for Luke's benefit, he wanted to see you redeemed, and after all he did we gave him that one moment of happiness. He can discover the truth later."

"But, I was wanting to see Padme again!" Annikin wails.

Obi wan laughs and morphs back to his earlier look as seen in revenge of the sith. "Ha! She's with me now, after seeing what a pathetic, whiny, weak, petulant brat you were and how easily you became a child murdering monster she never wants to see you again. Her and I have become quite close since I got here." Obi wan smiles broadly.

Yoda and ben fade away, the world darkens as Annakin wails "Padme! I'm sorry I-!" A hand clamps down on his shoulder He is spun around.

"Remember me?" The captain vader manually strangled in the opening of ANH is there. He draws back and throws a punch that sends Annakin sprawling onto the rocky ground, bleeding from the mouth. Looking up he sees all the people vader sadistically murdered (Not the imperial officers, they were evil too, so no ozzle or piett. Also not the tusken, I don't blame him for killing them after what they did.) including the jedi children, who are wielding small lightsabers.

The camera pulls back to revels the extent of the crowd as we hear a final "NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOI!!!" screamed by Annakin.

Really, I never bought the redemption scene in RotJ during it's first run. Redeemed? For saving your own son from guy who just said he planned for you to be killed and replaced by him?

I believe redemption may be possible sometimes, but that was a little to easy.

And after seeing the temple scene in RotS, HA! No way the redeemed all his evil saving luke.

Well, I can't be a christian so I have to hope they're wrong about a few things .

We never had any indication vader regretted anything really. I mean he saved luke but protecting one's progeny is a strong biological imperative. When he realized luke had a sister and one can assume he knew from luke it was leia, I don't recall him feeling any remorse at torturing her. He saw her as another tool to use. In the end he just wanted her to know luke was right about him, again no sorrow for torturing her that we saw.

He did, I admit, tell luke "You already have." when luke said he wanted to save him. Maybe that meant he repented or somehow was pulled free from the dark side. So it could go either way.

I'm thinking if I had been murdered by vader and saw his "redemption" I'd still think "Doesn't make up for what you did to me you walking junkheap."

Well yeah, though that's a kind of 'Ritchie from Bottom' version.

There's human justice (or... in Star Wars, corporeal being justice?) to be answered too, but since Vader popped off soon after, watcha gonna du?

still think you could remove ghost Anakin with no negative impact

as the later storys imply that ghosting is a forgetton art only recent rediscovered by qui-jinn and presumably shared with yoda who passes it to obi, vader goes to the sith bad place and dissolves into a ragey hate spirit like previously seen sith lords

I didn't really think of this until now, but wow. Why isn't there any Quest stuff? Most shows from that time have been rebooted, remade, or adapted here or there. But not the Quest lads. Like the last time I think I saw them in anything was Mystery Incorporated, for like a ten second gang. And then Venture Bros. before that, also as a gag.
