So for some reason or another I have the urge to work on a themed terrain table for the new edition. Specifically themed around shipping/logistics/warehouses. Mostly as an excuse to make a bunch of shipping containers and have them fit in. It's also on my mind to have them both make sense within the environment but also function well with the new terrain rules we'll be playing with.
So far i'm working on shipping containers to fill up space and provide line of sight blocking. As pictured below I made them fairly chunky, able to hide tanks and midsized monstrous creatures. Sitting at 3" high it's easy enough for infantry to climb it to get fire positions and be somewhat safe from assault. Where as stacking 2 would block line of sight to quite a lot of things. (Sadly not checked if it blocks out knights or gorkanaughts yet.)
For ruins I could easily make some bombed out warehouses, use some left over corrugated card to make unloading doors, second floors with gantries to use the defensible trait and block
LOS(Though these are more interesting with the new engagement rules, making it harder for things to simply be out of reach.)
What other things do you think would be ideal terrain in 9th and fit within the theme of a
40K/modern day distribution centre?
For reference here is the terrain rules for 9th. Figured it may help on advice.
