I don't have any involvement with this but know about it due to my unrequited love of cyberpunk in general and Shadowrun in particular. Looks like this is a miniatures game with terrain offerings (no boardgame tiles that I can see) that is supposedly ready to produce made by a guy I recognize from various youtube interviews as an official Shadowrun creator/employee/freelancer/wageslave. Early bird discount pledges for the first day on the two lower pledges that include minis/chits/rules whereas higher pledges have terrain offerings and more gubbins. Plus the megacorp level pledges of up to $10k if you want to design your own minis/faction. It already funded to the base amount in the first couple of hours FWIW. Most stretch goals below will be paid add ons unless otherwise stated (like with the animal companions). A good amount of extra models for new gangs plus a few non-gang specific merc independents unlocked so far. There's about a dozen pledge levels that vary in how much extra stuff you get but I've linked the details/graphics of the most popular one below along with the more deluxe terrain pledge before you start getting into the pledge levels where you design your own character/minis/gang for the campaign. Not pictured in the core box contents are a dog and possibly lawjack unlocked as freebies for the boxed set as well as a Croyote (crow coyote hybrid) that will be added if funding reaches $75k.

Here is the massive stretch goal image. Don't say I didn't warn you, chummer!

Spoiler:

So far the add on models will be in metal at $10 each with maybe a discount for whole gang packs of 5 for $40. As of this edit, the goals until $54k have unlocked. They've also posted a dropbox link to the rules preview pdf below.

Edit: And funded at a final total of $61k.

The drone models are my favorite designs for this game.

Ah, they apparently stealth updated the images without an official update as it was only a black outline before when I looked. I recognize the artist behind the four armed humanoid figure but I can't comment whether he made the others in that goal. He did make a cool cyberpunk Witcher/Geralt that I'm planning on buying and printing if my upcoming local campaign takes off.

They did mention those are Papsikel's drones, but doesn't mention if they'll be STL files they'll give you, stats only in the rulebook (which I guess is what the unlocked gangs are so far), or if they're going to make physical models of them.

Also Papsikel as far as I know has been the first and most consistent at doing cyberpunk models on Patreon and if you're into that you should already be following him!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I doubt they'll be STLs as the rest of the kickstarter figs are iirc metal minis according to the early comments. Yeah, Papiskels makes some good cyberpunk minis; they just need to be scaled about 110% in the Z axis to not be so squat IMO. That's what I plan on doing with the cyberGeralt. I enjoyed your recent chinese mech plastic kit video btw; that thing looks like a lot of fun!

I’d prefer resin, or even stl files, to metal. I’ll check out that artist’s patreon looking for drones...just as soon as I’ve printed enough spaceships.

Actually, I may have to get a few of these gangs for Urban Manhunt, too... and some terrain...

For some of the models, we'll be pointing you toward their sculptors (in the case of the elementals and the drones), but for the main gangers, we are going to try to recoup our sunk costs first before releasing the STLs.

They are indeed metal, at least all the ones in the box set. Some do require assembly, usually only arms or weapons.

I hope this does well for Opti. He's one of the biggest boosters of Shadowrun and probably the most positive personality for the game overall and this game is just a reflection of making something awesome out of his love of Shadowrun that he gets to own and guide along. Also my runners are currently searching for him and his apartment blew up when they broke into it so he probably needs money for a new place.

I really don't like his art style. I backed for a few months but his confusing pledge levels (which he's streamlined some since) and more old school squat designs just don't do much for me. He's very bulky in clothing as well.

Right now I follow Cyber Forge (duh) and unit9 (Human interface boardgame people). I would love more of a shaowrun cyberpunk pateron but I'd probably need to find rules that work for me both in general play and for minis as 5e really doesn't do that for me but I love the setting. Though what I would really love is a solo/co-op ruleset added to this game. After playing elder scrolls and Fallout from Modiphius I don't think I can ever go back to competitive wargames again as I really only have one friend that enjoys those and doing co-op with a bunch of people for fun is the best thing ever.

Also I think this is the 4th thread this year for this game.

Re: Papiskel, he hopefully might be adapting his style judging by his recent preview of a mini that isn't chunky. I actually agree with you in that regard and that's why I've test resized the cyberwitcher pic I posted above by an extra 10% in height to see if it is worth it to get.

Spoiler:

I wasn't aware of Cyber Forge so will have to check them out. I'm familiar though with both unit9's patreon and their boardgames. As for this being the 4th thread for this, sorry as I didn't catch the others. I'll ask the mods to merge them.

Oh, nice. I might re-sub eventually then.

As for the cyber witcher. I have it and can easily do some test prints as I'm doing some for ES and Fallout but could set up a normal scale and 10% height increase tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks. Even just a screen shot side by side of cybersquat Geralt and 10% extra witchier cyberGeralt in a 3d model viewer would work if you don't want to go through the trouble of supporting/printing the model.

Here you go.

Left to right is Cyberforge, geralt. 10% increase geralt and then another geralt as I think I have like 6.

He doesn't look that bad up against other figures. I think this is one of Papiskel's more reigned in figures as he was heavily using it to get supporters.

I think that definitely works (10% extra z/height then resize overall to the desired scale). Thanks! He definitely looks better IMO with the swords and without the cybereye patch.

All this talk of the witcher made me try and buy the fig but he must be international as they're not accepting my giftcard that I try to use online for purchases.

How does this compare to playing Reality's Edge? Just, personal opinion... if you had 3 or 4 friends that were into skirmish gaming... what kind of split would you expect?

I like the models, but first project and “we’ll definitely have it out by December!” (during a pandemic at that) just gives me the impression of ignorant optimism.

I'm definitely interested in this, but I want to see if Privateer comes after them for the Undercity name, and if Nekrogoblikon the gang is based on Nekrogoblikon the band or another lawsuit in the making before I back them.

Looks like 4 hours left (midnight EST?) on the early bird offers to save $10 off of the lower base game pledges.

Judging from the updated stretch goal graphics and comments, it looks like almost all the unlocks are additional paid offerings except for the gang stencils and dogs/companion minis.

There's no way this will have any issues with privateers boardgames trademark. The names are different enough, one is fantasy steam punk and one is cyberpunk and one is a boardgame VS a skirmish game. Privateer would have to show trademark confusion to even have a case.

I'm having a bit of trouble with looking at this:

Are you required to use the game's specific set of gangs, or is there a 'make your own crew' option?

Because at this point, I'm pretty much done collecting "these are your dudes and these are the only dudes you can have" miniature skirmish games.

When I first saw the name I thought it was Privateer doing another game in the Undercity series. If I made the mistake I'm sure others could, or at least it could be argued they might. Depends on how litigious/broke/angry/desperate Privateer is.

It wouldn't legally hold, trademark isn't just name only but a bunch of things combined--many of which are visual. Checked my copy of the boardgame and the logo for The Undercity is TM but they don't have, in the legelesse part on the box, the text "the undercity" trade marked or registered as it's way too common of a name. Privateer is not the first one to ever use this as I'm sure you can find lots of prior usage for the word in the tabletop gaming community. I bet GW uses it quite a lot for Necromunda.

Third paragraph on the KSer page

Whether you take control of a pre-existing gang, shape it to your own style, or make your own gang from scratch, you’ll soon be discovering the secrets of the Undercity, all while claiming and reclaiming turf.

Would I be far off the mark for assuming that meant "Use the miniatures you like, not just our own"? And I mean to a point where it's encouraged, not just something you could maybe do if your group approved of it.

Would assume so.

This got posted in the commnets after your initial question here:

...we have a robust gang creation system that we are currently reworking based on the latest playtest comments; this allows for a lot of flexibility, and you can use your own models/kitbash to your heart's content. While we have stats for pregen gangs that's not the only way to play.

Well, the $10 off early bird period is over and the goals up to $47k have unlocked as of this morning so I updated the OP. On a humorous note, the unlocked elven mage goal uses a Papiskel Witcher model as a placeholder.

Nekrogoblikon is named after the band, and in collaboration with them. From Update 2:

New Gang: Nekrogoblikon

Speaking of bands, yes. you heard that right. Nekrogoblikon, the heavy-metal band you know and love in the real world is actually an all-goblin force of chaos in the Undercity of Neo-Babylon. Expect John Goblikon, Scorpion, and the rest of the band to be transformed into their goblin counterparts and ready to wreak havok. This is a free update to the core rulebook. It unlocks rules, special characters, items, logos, and stories of this new gang, alongside the Valkyrs and the Flaming Skulls.

I had seen it mentioned elsewhere, too, I think in the Facebook page or maybe in one of the Let's Play videos. I don't remember exactly.

I'm in, but I am expecting it to not hit their December 2020 target; I believe that's highly optimistic. Still, I'm ok with that, and really wanted the Shadowrun skirmish game that this grew out of once it was realized CGL wasn't going to actually do it.

The 2020 is only the core box, tokens and buildings. I know some stuff is already far enough along in production that they've done approvals on masters and just need to place an order. So it's optimistic but possibly doable.

None of the Stretch goals are expected this year I believe.
