Have I missed it or are we still waiting to find out who ends up with the Supreme Commander keyword being added?
I would have expected that to have been part of the recent FAQs so can we expect another set of FAQs to come with the release?
I can't help but feel the FAQs seem incomplete with only some factions receiving new army traits like tallarn but not death guard.

I haven't seen it. I suspect to see that keyword in future codex releases, such as Necrons.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

I seem to have missed the article talking about this new key word. What is it exactly?

OP is talking about the "Supreme Command Detachment" which does not cost any CP, but you can only take certain individuals with the keywords PRIMARCH, DAEMON PRIMARCH or SUPREME COMMANDER to fill it's single slot.

Custom40k Homebrew - Alternate activation, huge customisation, support for all models from 3rd to 10th edition

Designer's Note: Hardened Veterans can be represented by any Imperial Guard models, but we've really included them to allow players to practise their skills at making a really unique and individual unit. Because of this we won't be making models to represent many of the options allowed to a Veteran squad - it's up to you to convert the models. (Imperial Guard, 3rd Edition)

So the whole point of the detachment is to let you take Lords of War who are supposed to be army leaders without it costing you extra CP, provided they are your warlord.

The fact is there aren't many obvious leader Lords of War, and the most obvious ones are already covered by the PRIMARCH and DAEMON PRIMARCH keywords anyway.

There aren't really any other core GW right now I can think of off the top of my head... anyone else?

Might just be there's nothing to announce!

Presumably Silent King will get it. And maybe the giant Greater Daemons that forgeworld make - but we're expecting new books for all that anyway.

It allows you to take 1 LoW or 1HQ with the appropriate keyword.

Esentially it allows you to take an additional HQ/LOW without tax units or CP cost.

Zarakynel. An Exalted Keeper of Secrets should be higher ranking than a regular Keeper of Secrets, but she's a LOW.

Fortunately, she can still be your warlord.

The other Exalteds (the real ones, not the flimsy excuse for an exalted the Stratagem gives you) as well.

Ghaz and Shadowsun are prime contenders. Maaaaaaaaybe Farsight, though that may just be wishlisting on my part.

Eldrad is another.

Vect would be the obvious choice for Drukhari, but well...

I'm personally hoping the FW named greater daemons get this new keyword.

I doubt we'll see who has this in any FAQ's as it looks like they have only changed things which make a choice pointless (eg the Tallarn regiment rules) but not something that is now a generic rule (eg no replacement for POTMS yet).

We probably will only see who gets this rule once the new codexes hit. Other then named characters we might get a few more generic units as well. I can see Watchmasters, Shield Captains or Chapter Masters getting the rule (maybe as part of a strategy)

Just NO, HELL no Marines don't need an even more powerful auto take CM strategum than the brokenness they already have.

I'd love Farsight to get it. Bringing The Eight as a Supreme Command is way better than costing 3CP.

Yes, but they will have to fix their ridiculous "fluffy" points costs first. Zarakynel isn't too bad, but the others are outrageous.

She does not. nothing in 8th has it. It will need to be introduced via updates in 9th.

Im well aware of this, and have in fact mentioned it multiple times in other discussions around this topic. It's part of why I'm quite convinced she'll get it at some point. The fact remains however, that the only models that can legally run in SCD at present are Guilliman, Mortarian and Magnus due to their Primarch/DPirmarch keywordage.

So I just spoke with my local GW store rep, and he said there is new lore dropping in the 9th book, concerning the Big E, Ghazkul, the Beast, and the crusade, and the Silent King, he says that for the first time in a long time, "GW is advancing the lore". I think we may see a new Supreme Commander on Terra.

If by long time he means last year when Vigilus continued to advance the lore since it started advancing in Fall of Cadia, sure.

Would be pretty sweet to have a Guard supreme commander of some sort, along with a model refresh.

Technically they already can. The eight is nominally a SC detachment but ALREADY breaks the rules for the detachment (number of commanders, number of relics, etc) in 8th edition. So I see no reason it wouldn't ignore that restriction in 9th.

I suspect supreme commander would be very likely to go on 'faction bosses' who have a subfaction.

Abaddon is normally only useable in a BLACK LEGION force, or Ghazgkhull in a GOFF one, but both kind of play the role of 'effective faction leader'. Supreme Command lets you (for example) take a WORLD EATERS force and still have Lord Topknot in command.

The Eight is a single Lord of War that has an additional CP cost applied to it (and precludes the use of specific strats from being used for the rest of the game). From a rules perspective, it's one unit that becomes separate models after deployment.

It never fit into a Supreme Command Detachment in 8th.

GSC patriarchs would have to be their supreme commanders. There litterally is no commander higher in their structure.

I would like to have our saviour the Lord Solar Macharius back. I know he is long dead in the current timeline, but he was one of my favourite models back in the day.
