It's pretty amazing. He use to have several thousand backers but now he's down to around 900.

Duncan’s is excellent . I have a few of his files to print....one day . I really need 20 more printers

I'm looking at getting a second. The new Monoscreen LEDs are getting rave reviews as they're faster and the screens last longer. Plus they're around $250 which is crazy cheap.

I'm waiting for the Elegoo Saturn to make an appearance at retail as the monoscreen, plus larger bed size is ideal for what I need/want

When some locals bought some Artisan Guild prints off Etsy was when I realized that home printing tech got good enough for wargaming.

I just repaired my old desktop and got a better slicer (Cura 4.6.2) to run on it and the first prints are even better than my others with much less stringing and crisper support removal. It also tells me that these Oni I am printing are costing me only $0.25 each .

The upgrade on the computer and slicer let me mirror the print. Same file for both (club and hand are separate from the body) so it’s doubling the variation I’ll have in my army. These guys fill a 40x40mm base to the point that in KoW I will probably do two on a 40x120mm base instead of three.

The cost and quality of each print is what companies like Mantic should embrace.

Cost and quality are good, but time to print is unmanageable for production runs. 4ground have been trying to 3d print every figure for their fantasy ks, which may explain onef the reasons they stopped talking about it

Titan-Forge are showing off a few pics of Septembers Patreon package. It's a mixed month of Amazon Dinosaur riders and Pirate Ogres.

I think the Ogre Conquistador would look great with some of the spaniard models from Piculiar Companions

They also say that October will be Vampire Hunters, no pictures yet of that.

September is right around the corner, so I thought I'd dust off the thread again.

Titan-forge September release is a mixed batch of Amazon/Aztec Dino riders and Ogre pirates....makes sense to me. Even if they don't make sense There are some beauties in here.

Ogre Hunter with Walrus friends

Aztec Amazons riding feathered dinosaurs

And jungle aztec basing

Also August broke 7000+ backers so they gave out a discount code for 70% off their MMF prints . You could still jump aboard for that today.

If you don't want to have any warehouse and doing low volume 3d printing is great for that as you can just print on demand. If you're looking at trying to do any large scale delivery/support you need to use traditional casting (though 3d printing for very large figures might be viable vs resin casting). I know some companies are using 3d printing to deliver KSers but they're maybe only a few hundred -- if that -- per sculpt which is doable (especially with the quality/speed of the new mono screens) but that's probably the limit of where it makes sense. As it's lower then what a minimum order from a foundry would be.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So Auguest was pretty poor for me. 3Dhexes didn't deliver (only finished July) and Asgard Rising Didn't deliver anything really either (finished July).

Sounds like Asgard Rising is skipping September to get ahead of the sculpting -- which people have been asking them to do almost since they started as it's the 30th of August and I'm only just getting my last piece of terrain from July.

Not sure what's going on with 3DHexes as he was sick for a while and finally delivered some awesome trees for July but still hasn't really talked about August at all.

There's 23 trucks and then a wide variety of branches (modular) and leaves. He does sales on his website often and it's worth looking into.

Wow Titan Forge for this month looks amazing!

A bit bummed about 3Dhexes too, but he was learning a whole new way to sculpt if I understand correctly. And the trees are fantastic.

The trees really should have been separated into two months as it was a ridiculous amount of content for one month.

I bought a Phrozen Sonic Mini and I think they have about a 10% failure out of the factory (normal electronics is 4%) from what people on the FB group have gathered (though that's probably skewed too do to people mostly using those groups as customer support) and I got a broken one that wouldn't power on. Thankfully I waited until they were at amazon and had a new one 2 days later. Even though the new mono screens are awesome they're 50% of the cost of these machines and it's a race to the bottom cost wise for everything else across all the brands so hearing the Mars Saturn has issues doesn't surprise me--the pro versions is where it's at with Egloo. Comparing what I got with my Phrozen Shuffle 2018 ($800 printer) and the Sconic Mini I feel like I'm going to break the new one every time I touch it as it's such cheap parts. Still. It prints as well as the 2 year old $800 printer and only costs $250 (as they added a metal vat due to complaints over the plastic one due to resin melting the plastic) yet prints more then twice as fast and the screen lasts 5x time longer.

I bought several replacement screens a while ago for the Shuffle and haven't even bothered with them since the screen burned out as the Sonic Mini is just so much faster.

Makers Cult as always deliver a pile of goodies for 12 bucks. Considering it's a collective of artists all releasing things (plus guest sculptors) it's pretty crazy.
https://www.patreon.com/themakerscult/posts

Of the most interest to you guys are if you ever wanted to start building and printing a Krieg style army in gas masks... well here's all your standard troop needs.

Spoiler:

That's in addition to more feudal guard upgrade parts (the third batch now, and they're completely compatible with these guys), a new style of heavy infantry they're making, dark admech spider cavalry, thunder warrior troop transports, and some crazy daemon engine.

Bob Naismith has some nice Elsyian style troops coming out for his Overrunners in September as well. Cheapest level gets the female drop troops, next level up is command and heavy weapons, big spenders get vehicles too.
https://www.patreon.com/user?u=31502359

Bob has been churning out all sorts of models for the past few months but I can't find a good depository of information about them all. I know he keeps sales of STL files to his website rather than a place like My Mini Facotory, but it's impressive to see he's continuing to put out great looking models still.

October will be month worth checking his patreon out for some of you folks, as he mentioned doing canine humanoid troops....

Whooooooooa somebody finally making Warmachine STL(s):

I've seen some great sculpts that fix 40k's derpier lines - Reptile Overlord's Not-Catachan, for example - but I've been trying to find folks who want to tackle PP's rather squat jacks. Downside: I already own a ton of Cryx and actually like giving PP money (when I can afford it, some of those units are $$$$$); Upside: I hate building their minis, Mars go do it for me!

EDIT: I see they're billing it as a daemon engine thing? Fair play

Nickey's Hatchery (https://www.patreon.com/NickeyHatchery/) have a few new characters. Some look to have slightly odd anatomy... I need to have a closer look at the files once they download to decide if i like this month's lot

Oh, Cast N Play (https://www.patreon.com/castnplay) have a really nice looking swamp set with some heroes, some villains, some monsters, terrain, bases and even some openlock swamp tiles!

Here's the release video:

And for posterity, here's August's release, which I didn't know about until now:

I don't have a ton of experience with RH's STLs, but I did buy the spider set when it was on sale at MMF, and was disappointed to find a distinct lack of complete sculpts. Like, you have to print in loads of bits, just like their cast resin. Which was a bummer and has kept me from digging into it.

EDIT: That Cast N Play set is nice!
EDIT2: Pledged for the *huge* amount of stuff, but mostly for Astaria (unmounted please), Bullywugs, Crocs and them spooky trees!

Their stuff us just too intercrate to be printed completely whole without a lot of failed prints or so many supports you'd loose a lot of detail. But since you have the files just assemble them in Microsoft 3D Builder and print as complete as you want.

Fair point. And I've only recently been turned on to digital assembly - didn't realize there was a free MS option for it!

Dunno, I'm just getting started with this 3D printing thing, and only printed three models from RH so far, two of them (a spider and the fairy queen) printed perfectly, but indeed, just lost the lower jaw of a pirate. Won't be an issue though, I'll just slap a respirator on her.

I know Ghamak did some.

Not sure how modular those are as I think they're a bit older models he did. His newer not- Necro figures tend to be pretty modular. September is not- Corpse Grinders!

Papsikel has done a few Judge style models, both on and off bike.

It seems like we've all been linking to images hosted on Patreon, so older images are now all dead. We may want to consider moving these to a gallery so we can refer back and go shopping in the individual patreon's stores if we missed something

Plan out a few months worth of material. You have so much great stuff, unfortunately I've never gotten into epic or BFG. Either you could do a Part of an army each month for a few months, or do 1 large terrain piece, a couple smaller ones, a few units each month and a ship or two. Then the next month do similar, just a different large terrain piece, different units(faction) and a few more ships. It really just depends upon which files you want to release. I think if you just did BFG style ships you'll only cater to the one crowd. If you do a smattering of each different style and have it be the Assault on "GW2020" (That's a planetary system ), then you will get different people from different systems.

Plan for now is to possibly collaborate with someone who will focus on the infantry whilst I do terrain and vehicles. Considering our limited time we thought to release two kits a month (one by me, one by him). But perhaps several small kits a month would indeed be better.
