I was glancing through the 9th edition rulebook and if I read this correctly, Matched Play games last exactly five battle rounds. How long has it been since we have fixed game lengths? 4th edition or 3rd edition? Seems to me like this is going to have a big impact now that we're going to know when the game ends and work backwards from that point to win.

It wont be that big of a change since alot of (probably most) tournaments were using ITC missions, which were a fixed 6 rounds.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Because Americans only care about themselves.

Just remember folks. Panic. Panic all the time. It's the only way to survive, other than just being mindful, of course-but geez, that's so friggin' boring. - Aegis Grimm

How many games were actually not decided by round 5 anyways? Not many in my experience.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

That's a great point. It'd been a while since I played ITC.
