I bought this miniature from a one-man-shop that briefly had a thread here on Dakka in news and rumors. The mini is plastic-resin, if that helps.

The mini came out back when restic was somewhat new, and I think the guy touting it as “plastic resin” may have hurt his sales, but the actual minis is almost perfectly cast and worked as well as the good resin. As far as I know, the guy/company disappeared after this.

Not a lot of companies doing restic/troll cast back in the day. It could have been something related to Troll Forged but they closed down. I thought Impact! bought their stuff but don't see anything on Impacts website.

I have a lot of Trollforge’s Trollcast (or whatever it was called), and this is not that. If anything, it’s most similar to Last Sword’s plastic resin if it is not in fact just resin with a fancy name.

As for Impact! Miniatures, they do indeed have all of the Assimilation Alien Host minis from the Trollforge Kickstarter, as well as a few other Trollforge minis from the Lost KS campaign. However, Metal Oak Castings has a lot of the other Trollforge minis, including the alien brains and the never-made-it-to-sale alien behemoth. The resin quality for these products under Impact! And Metal Oak is top notch.
