"Hi Boyz, welcome to the party. Have a BLAST!"

Armageddon with EpicAU lists, yeah. The orks of Thelon Reach seem to be made for super sturdy boy hordes while their support vehicles are a bit on the expensive and not too shooty side in comparison to the traditional lists. I need to roll out more artillery in the future, given my basic legion list is mostly full of anti-armour lasers

There is a really active Epic community on FB - not sure if you're able to find an opponent locally but it's pretty easy these days to get a couple of armies and get a mate to play!
This thread might help with starting, there is so much stuff out there now from 3rd parties and also 3D printing

Don't need to be new and shrink-wrapped from GW to be able to play

Hiyo!

Finally, had the opportunity to take a proper family portrait of my legions both titanic and astartes! I present you, (almost) all of the currently painted Ashen Gods and the Death Guard in their 6 mm glory!

Hope you enjoy!

Now there's only about as much again, waiting on the shelves for their time to get processed as well...

That's why the guys i know playing krieg are all using 3rd party 3d printed minis that look somewhat like them but different enough to be unique...and cost about $.05 a trooper to print out.

Mother of God Sherrypie that is so damn impressive.

What a collection of miniatures there I think you must surely have taken the 'lead' of largest 30k-era Epic force?

How many points-worth does that pretty pile come up to altogether?

Hah, hardly. Maybe on this forum, but wouldn't necessarily count on that either. Yet

On quick napkin math, the forces presented here comprise about 20 000 points for Epic Armageddon with a surprisingly even split between the marines and the titanic units. I've seen some utterly bonkers numbers the French 30k lunatics have cobbled together, as well as the few people crazier about AdTitanicus than I am who have closing on a hundred titans in their collections. This is still almost sensible, like, you can fit it on one table without undue hassle. Which naturally is a situation that requires correcting soonishly...

Battle reports, ahoy!

Last weekend saw some titanic action as the green line of Krytos and Solaria thundered forwards against the Ashen Gods of Favilla. On this wartorn industrial world, lightning and artillery bombarded the area incessantly as the comms lit up: the Very Important Ultramarines (in their Land Raiders, objective markers) must be extracted from the clutches of Death Guard before it is too late.

We had a bit of fun in a four player setup, giving control of the main flow of command to the players who had full maniples on the field while one lad wanted to test his Warmaster out as support and I played my Psi-Titan and some knights in support of the new player trying out a Corsair trio of my Reavers. We used a smaller hand of custom stratagems for expediency.

Both sides quickly sped forwards to claim one of the Land Raiders, before everything went to hell for the alliance.

Before the second Krytos Hound got a chance to vaporize the knights who came to claim the Raider, they executed a daring dash backwards and sped into safety, though one of their number was soon blown apart by a Basilisk battery.
The Hound in question, though, was utterly atomised by the arcane contraption in Aetheris-Anathema's hand as if its shields were not even there. A dark blast of unreality shot forwards and in an unnervingly silent moment, the inner parts of the Warhound ceased to exist this side of the Veil as the charred outer remains crumbled into wreckage on the ground.

At the green corner, the Ultramarines were being escorted into relative safety while the titans turned their guns against the incoming sneaky Cerastoi.

One did make it through the rain of plasma undeterred, though, and charged in. Slamming its lance through the heart of the other Warhound, they tangled together in death as the Hound exploded like a miniature sun.

In the other direction, the two big chonkers had been firing away at the incoming Reavers, of which Flagellum Dei got blasted apart in a radiation cloud as its tortured shields could take no more and huge balls of roaring plasma ripped through its structure. This, however, did nothing to prevent the horror that was the Psi-Titan from ravaging the Warmaster from afar. First shot tore through its sides, coolant leaking in torrents from the wound as it backed behind the large office building in vain hope of gaining cover. This was not to be, however, as the second beam of nightmares vaporized said office block in contempt and smashed into the god-machine behind. There was a screech of dying metal, followed by a blinding explosion as the remains blew sky high, unleashing the caged power of the plasma reactors within.

Alarmed and struck in the legs by the debris cloud, the Krytos Warlord Deus Invictrix blinked for a moment too long and allowed one of the Reavers, Ruina Superborum, to close in and grip it by the cojones with its fists. The wounded giant was soon toppled, smashed into the ground and screaming its last as it was sawn apart.

They day belonged to the Ashen Gods.

And a bloody good building it was, too. Gave enough cover and refused to melt to the first guns so well that the whole Banner wasn't lost and could make their charge later on instead of ceasing to exist then and there

Hmm that's interesting they were there quite recently when I was looking so must be a recent change. And like you say they don't appear to be available anywhere else.

I've asked on the Tactical Command as I know the Vanguard guy posts on there, will let you know what he answers with.

Always wanted to play epic and now I've finally started building my Eldar army.

I love Eldar superheavy vehicle designs so couldn't resist having two of each vampire type.

Planning on painting them all using washes as it will help the detail pop.

I decided when I started collecting eldar in 2nd ed that I wouldn't go with one of the main craftworlds. Mine is Alai-Yannen and it is more of a coalition of clan controlled craftworlds than one single culture. It uses the iyanden Shinto shrine with the alaitoc sword through the middle as it's symbol.

If you're interested the basic background is as follows:

Early after the fall, several small craftworlds banded together for protection, each one bringing a strongly independent culture with them. As such they never fully integrated together, despite fusing their ships into a massive multi-segmented craftworld complex. Each ancestral domain is controlled by a specific clan and while they allow free passage between all segments of the complex, it's still very clear where each eldar's clan affiliation lies.

Leading Alai-Yannen is the triumvirate of the Clan council, Seer brotherhood and the Autarchy. Each has representatives from the clans, ensuring that no one clan has too much sway over the collective decisions of Alai-Yannen.

Now the cynical reason I created this was because I wanted to be able to field a counts as army using each of the big 5 craftworld rules, so each one is represented by one of the Clans in Alai-Yannen.

Eithiad - the Mausoleum. Most of the clan died in the centuries after the Fall due to constant raids and daemonic incursions. When they joined Alai-Yannen they did so with merely a handful of members. With vengeance burning hot as only an eldar can feel, the clan has gone to war with its dead for ten millennia, seeking some unknown end that will quieten their spirits.

Ystrafael - The Many Shadows. A daemonic incursion fractured their webway gate and the shards infected the infinity circuit, growing web way gates throughout the domain before it was stopped. Having spent so many millennia with dozens of webway gates spread across their domains, they've seemingly become like shadows in appearance and manner. But they are the most connected and reactive of the clans with their spies everywhere.

Kaela-Menshad – The Bloody Hand. A clan with an ancient warrior lineage spanning aeons, they refused to accept the destruction of the Fall and the shattering of Khaine. As their patron god, Khaine stood for all that was great about the eldar: sublime martial skill, the pinnacle of physical perfection and the unyielding fury of a righteous warrior. When Asurmen founded the aspects, the Kaela-Menshad initially refused to adopt his practices. They believed in the strength of their warrior traditions alone. It wasn’t until Asurmen’s proteges repelled a daemonic incursion ten times their number to protect Alai Yannen from annihilation did the Lords of the Bloody Hand see their value. From this moment on the Bloody Hand considered Asurmen and his first pupils, the Asuryata, as Khaine’s apostles and Asurmen his fated son. The clan dedicated itself mind and body to the Path of the Warrior so that now, every member has trod that path at least once and continues to train as veteran guardian squads when not wearing the war mask.

Uthaelu – Adamant Mind. Unlike the other clans this originally formed as a clan of ideology rather than one of blood. During the final days of the Fall, those who had resisted the descent into oblivion through asceticism and discipline came together to discuss how they might extricate themselves from the destruction surrounding them. This brotherhood of the mind escaped in their own ship, designed by the last great unsullied thinkers of the Eldar Dominion. They drifted alone in the cosmos for centuries, maintaining an unbroken meditative state. Their unbound minds explored, contemplated and learned, delving deeper into the recesses of the eldar mind than any had before. They shrouded their craft from attack and probed the skeins of fate to find one that might bring the eldar back to greatness. This lead them to the newly formed Alai-Yannen and for reasons they haven’t discussed with any other clan, they joined the coalition. Even now their clan is one of the mind and any that wish to join from the other clans may do so, but it is a permanent choice and once done may never be undone.

Faolchu Ra – The Winged Death. A storied and noble Clan of Alai Yannen, the Winged Death bears a terrible stain on their honour, a dark secret that sits beneath their untarnished exterior. Before Alai Yannen, their origins lay with the clan lords of Craftworld Saim Hann. In the centuries following the fall, each of the craftworlds was fighting a solitary war for survival and none fought harder than Saim Hann. It was during these hard times that the Faolchu Ra, then called the Thantefaelion, destroyed their honour. Saim Hann had not truly formed by this point and desperate for survival after a particularly brutal war with the orks, they turned on their fellow clansmen. Calling in Drukhari mercenaries to help them, they attempted to take control of the nascent craftworld from the wild rider lords. Bloody from war with the orks they were ill prepared for treachery from within. The fighting was brutal and the Drukhari delighted in the misery of their cousins. It was only when the Avatar roused itself from slumber, so great was the death and hatred flooding the infinity circuit and marched on the Thantefaelion did they realise how wrong they were. Imbued with just a shard of Khaine’s power and flooded with an entire craftworld’s worth of emotion, the avatar beat back the Thantefaelion until he slashed through the craftworld’s hull, cutting the entire Thantefaelion section from it in a massive blaze of volcanic fire.
The section was left to drift in space, with no functioning wraithgates or craft of any kind. By the time Alai-Yannen found them, the population had been cut in half and neither the Thantefaelion or the Drukhari were left, only the Faolchu Ra. From then on they have been paragons of honour, hoping to outrun 10,000 years of shame.

My plan is to build a large force that can represent any Eldar army list from EA. Along with some custom vehicles and new Titan patterns.

Started my kitbashed eldar titan variants with the Wight armed with shuriken accelerator. Support scout titan.

Also decided to make a mk1 falcon using modern eldar aesthetics, which I'll use as a basis for other models.

Thanks. Credit goes in large part the models I used to chop up and make these, but I've always loved converting and this is the most fun I have in years.

Racerguy180 wrote:Would be cool to have the Phantom use a building to set the bipod on.

Cool image. This model is a scout though, so it's the same size as a revenant and the bipod is actually two anti grav stabiliser stalks (like you see on the ranger long rifles). The gun is mounted on a support arm over the shoulder from a unit attached at the hip.

I'll eventually do a version where it's stowed on the back and he's using his forearm weapons.

Next up is my Seraph Drop titan - the only titan that can make an orbital insertion....

Decided to kitbash a modern tempest (the original scorpion superheavy) as a superheavy between a lynx and a scorpion in size, pulling on some of the aesthetics from the mk1 falcon.

Dig around in Thingiverse, Cults3d, Yeggi etc. with tags like epic30k, epic, heresy, 6mm and so on. Try various synonyms, people tend to name their stuff somewhat cheekily to differ from the original names so there's plausible deniability (like "walking coffins" or "heroes' tombs" instead of dreadnoughts). For marines, the best resource is MoonJam's Galactic Crusaders line.

If you don't want to print yourself, there is also ample supply in third party designs. Vanguard Miniatures' metal models are excellent quality for all three armies you mentioned, for example.

This brings Legio Favilla to 13 painted titans, which... will probably not be enough, I haven't even built all my stuff
