This might be my bias to old Epic scale showing, but I disagree - Exocrines and Haruspex were larger than both the 'fex and the Tyrant back in t'day, and should stay that way.

I agree, the Carnifex used to be the biggest, but then again the Dreadnought also used to be the biggest. I don't think they need scaling up because we already have those bigger things. Instead we have two models that are smaller, but shine because they can be jacks of any trade rather than the bigger beasts that tend to specialise far more so.

When you put a fex on the table people fear it; but they should be cowering when you put an exocrine or haurspex down.

How about this. Keep the current Tyranid monster at their level, but included a new "pimaris carnifex" to serve as a larger, size brute-style close combat monster. We could even re-use the term Screemer-Killer for these.

But we have those already.
Haurspex, Exoctine, Malceptor, Toxicrene, Ravener etc....
Those are the big "primaris" style upgrades of the carnifex. Granted they sacrifice some of its versatility for a more focused weapon loadout, but they offer bigger size and more power. If you push the Carny into that realm too then one of the two has to take a step out - either the specialists or the generalist. Otherwise its needless duplication.

Back when the Carnifex was the "biggest", it was the Land Raider that was the "biggest". The Dreadnought was great though.

Imo the Carnifex isn't scary enough. But that doesn't require a model change, just a stat/ability boost. Make it T8, 2+ 10+W and S8. Add an optional regeneration ability and then we're getting somewhere.

I'd like to see all of the finecast replaced with pewter again, I keep having to rely on Ebay for the cooler parts of my secondary armies (Kommandos and Tankbusts come to mind). If I ever collect an Eldar army, I reckon it'll mostly be secondhand from Ebay

The Juan Diaz Daemons all look much better than all of the current lesser Daemon models, though those models are much more customizable nowadays. If we could get the Diaz models in plastic with posable waists, arms and heads that would be awesome.

Also most of the Forgeworld OOP stuff should come back too, but that'll never happen.

One of the main thing I really want to see updated is the size of Ork Nobz/MegaNobz and Warbosses.

It is kind of sad to see Primaris being bigger than a Warboss, who should be a 3 metre tall monstrosity.

IMO there's nothing wrong with the size of the Carnifex model, it just needs better rules. A couple of attacks at S6 is nothing compared to the your-tank-dies-instantly mangling that the Carnifex of old could dish out. It's still a plenty chunky model; if you want a LoW or Knight equivalent, that's what the Hierodule is for.

Another vote here for the return of Rough Riders. It was another choice to help break up the monotony of Guard, added a rare melee option, rounded out the Fast Attack slot (seriously, Hellhound variants and Sentinel variants is not a lot of variety), and was a nice option for infantry-focused armies.

Also, it might not be what OP is after, but I'd love to see a return of Lost And The Damned or Renegades & Heretics. They were both fun lists that provided the sorely-missing 'Chaos minions' force.

No, it isn't. We should have been asking for all of 8th . Maybe if we had been plastic models we would still have rules for our armies.

Noise marines as above specified seem a good answer.

Maybe updated OG marines, specifically a new multipart beaky kit.

I have to confess that I'm actually a bit scared of rules updates to existing minis because that will probably lead to more monopose and higher prices. And especially for more horde-y units, that will look awful with a dozen of the same guy/gribbly in the same dynamic pose.

But we do need our Rough Riders back!

What specialist games haven't they brought back yet?

Battlefleet Gothic, Mordheim, a proper version of Man O' War, a proper version of Epic, Warmaster, Inquisitor (at either "28mm" or the original 54mm scale).

There may be others, but those spring to mind as missing Specialist Games.

You forgot Dreadfleet. Don't worry, everyone else did too. I only remembered it because I still have a Dreadfleet poster I got for free .

"Our fantasy settings are grim and dark, but that is not a reflection of who we are or how we feel the real world should be. [...] We will continue to diversify the cast of characters we portray [...] so everyone can find representation and heroes they can relate to. I was thinking of Dreadfleet as a one-and-done boxed set, rather than a full-fledged Specialist Game with expansions. I mean, I didn't include Space Hulk, which would fall into the same category (though I want an expansion for it with the WD campaigns from when I first started with GW, so ~WD190 and onwards).

I did miss Gorkamorka, though you can argue that's a variant setting for Necromunda.

Dreadfleet made me sad that we could see that GW could do some outstanding ships, but wasn't willing to do it more than a single boxed game.

Now if they brought out a Man O War AOS that would be fantastic!

meh as someone that rewrote the R&H index.. it's a bit more then that, and some fringe occaisons need to be looked at for balance reasons, but it'd be a job of about 2 days tops, in ruleswriting and about a week of dedicated playtesting?

I want to get an actual "Sniper" unit in the game that isn't an assassin. Give the IG sniper rifle S6 and make it D2 damage, with character targeting rules. The SM sniper rifles are already d3 or d3 depending on the type, and have character targeting. Hell, make it a strat. But I would love for my Tanith themed Sniper Teams with Larkin to be viable for once, and I think S6 guns with character targeting would be great.

Though I can think of one. Seeing as I started back to playing in 6th, after being away in the military. The very first army I picked up was a Chaos war band of Red Corsairs. With Blackheart being my first character at the time. Who was already being primed up for the release of 7th and even though I'd seen stats for his Astral Claws build. I was really interested in building a fast attack group at the time, with bikes and missile launchers. Using what little I could acquire for myself at the time and only when a hobby shop open almost an hour away. I was finaly able to actually outfit my army with some farm more powerful models.

I would love to see Huron be recast and get a stat update. Because he was such a powerful unit when it came to his Astral Claws variant and now he just seems rather gimped. Despite being a lord in his own right and supposedly Abbadon's greatest completion, besides Typhus.

Tbh Huron's model wasn't even great when he was released si I understand it didn't age well... compared to the sweet FW Huron that is as beautiful as ever.

Otherwise Pariah necrons, obviously.
And elysian guards.
