I think a lot of people would be very happy to see a modular robot/cyborg kit.

Cozy cockpit of an Archer ARC-5S

Next plastic kit is going to be "Troopers II" if the pre-order section on a local retailer are to believed, no date or further box info given.

That seems odd as they originally included a few female heads in the Troopers box since under that type of armor one can't see the person's figure. So unless they are going with boobplate, I don't see the point.

perhaps it'll expand the trooper weapons options? more heavy weapon and melee/Close quarters weapons?

That seems like a strange decision. I like the Trooper models well enough and more variety would be nice, but there are so many other gaps in the range that could be filled. Like the robots that everyone seems to want. Or the Captain/First Mate kit some people suggested, with more unique/heroic bodies and equipment options. Even things like upgrade sprues would be nice - zombie parts for Q37 come to mind. I find it hard to believe that the gnolls and snakemen for Frostgrave were better sellers than any of these would be.

On a related note, I've found it frustrating that North Star has done so little to support the Stargrave bestiary. I've always wondered what the point of something like a Shengrylla is, if North Star wasn't even going to sell a miniature for it. Even Magmites, which do exist already for Frostgrave, are sold in pairs in a bundle with unneeded crows, and you need about 8 of them for the scenario.

I'd imagine no one reading page 45 of a star Grave thread needs to be told this but the '2' kits so far have all been women.

There should be no need for a women trooper kit, they come with female heads and the idea is they're in full body armor and don't need separate female bodies.

Still it could be that.

I'd hope for something more like Heavy Troopers, the existing kit has rifles, a missile launcher, a LMG and a big laser but could use more weapon options. Melee is particularly lacking.

To be honest a female centric troopers kit would make little sense based on how well the first kit handled a mixed gender force of medium armoured soldiers or former soldiers.

A set of heavy armoured troops or some sort of specialist set would make more sense, although many things have been covered a bit by other stargrave kits and they might not want to invest on a more specialized kit like snipers and other things that have been mentioned or partially done with metal figures.

I really like how they have handled kits so far in what relates to the distinctions between male and female sets without over sexualising either gender so I hope they don't mess up things now.

With Death Vector coming out in May could I be hopeful for Robot/Droid/Cyborg plastic set being released at the same time?

Absolutely Amazing work. Really love the Copplestone vibe these are giving off.

Depending on available load-outs and price, could be an affordable alternative to GW's tech-thralls and certainly compares favourably with every other method of getting servitor models. Would have preferred actual robots, but not unhappy with these.

That's pretty great, even if the arms seem a bit stubby. I feel like the flesh arm is cut off just below the elbow, but the metal part goes straight to wrist.

I agree about the arms - a bit too stumpy. Weird choice!

But I will get a box of these for sure. Was looking at Tech Thralls the other day and nearly bought a box but these will work much better for what I want, which is a mix of generic and combat servitors.

Things are looking pretty good.

Does anyone know if the Minis are going to be released with Death Vector in May?

The second picture looks better.

Dedicated cyborg kit is cool, for sure, but I am sad it's not also a robot kit. I feel like a cool modular robot kit is such an open goal that none of these companies are taking a kick on.

Agreed but it's still a nice kit. Maybe next time it will be robots. Maybe they are working on a way for the robots to be more than just bipedal.

The News and Rumors section is all about surprises. I'd certainly hate it if we got 100 posts saying "I know something you don't know..." - malfred

Yeah now THIS is a plastic set. My mind is immediately racing with what I'd use a box for. Khornate technozombies? I'm suddenly feeling like some Iron Warriors, too.

They look great.

There is so many possibilities for the different game system with this set.

Three boxes please!

I like them. Might get some to increase my tech thrall numbers or to build some CC thralls for whatever purpose in OPR. Would have been nice to have some not-bionic hands and more heads with laser pointers to build some proper Borg, but I'm pretty sure my bits box should at least have some hands...

But if you like the models and don't know where to use them, Threndyssey is a wild and free indie game of sending undead astronauts to an uninhabitably toxic Earth to scavenge materials

Pre orders next week and there will be a bundle from Northstar (UK)

Stargrave Automatons.
We'll be adding a free frame of Stargrave Scavengers to the Death Vector Pre-order Bundle Deal. That'll give you loads more kit-bashing options to make more Automaton variants. Have a look at the first two Kev Dallimore has built.
Pre-orders begin next week.
