Subject: UK lockdown? Get your shopping done early!
I recall someone saying that the warehouse now had a one way system and only a very limited number of staff allowed in at any one time. I suspect screens and other barriers/aspects have been in place since GW reopened their doors and have remained so yes GW should be able to remain open and productive.
Heck if this keeps going they might even try shifting to a day-night cycle of teams so that they can produce all night long whilst under covid restrictions.
I believe manufacturing to continue as normal.
The stores will be closed, but that was the same as last time and I had no trouble buying mail order (although I didn't buy directly from GW, don't know if they were overwhelmed with mail orders perhaps?)

To be frank - last time we DID discuss it, I don't think anyone was ultimately surprised that the thread ended up getting locked. It got political fast. But yes, if you're planning on ordering anything from GW specifically, don't be surprised if your order gets held up as a result. Nottingham itself as a town was already put into tier 3, or "higher-risk" basically and so was already being more restricted to a degree.
You would think that, but I think it got closed because of one guy not being able to leave the thread alone, and everyone else rounding on him for the viewpoint that he had on protective measures that he felt he had to keep posting every hour or two.

Yeh, all manufacturing can continue as they have been doing. The plant i work in will be carrying on, and im pretty sure the gf's workplace will as well. Only downside is i'll still be going to site and she'll likely get to work from home and enjoy extra time in bed!
I think we "might" see another slight impact on release dates and qtys of the new products, but, i'd expect production to continue as it has.

GW mail order was CLOSED last time. You literally could not put items to basket. Furthermore stores were not sent supplies so any store had to sell only what they had when lockdown began. If they ran out of nuln oil? No more from that store period.

This was when lockdown was first announced, and as a country we had maybe a couple of weeks inkling that a lockdown might have to happen? A lot of companies were caught by surprise and had to spend some time getting operations off the ground.
Now that GW has performed that setup, it's not something they have to repeat.

Yep. I don't expect closure this time though it's still possible. GW wasn't REQUIRED to close down last time either and could have continued production and mail order but opted to protect workers instead. Until GW says one way or another both are still option.
But if it happens like in spring again the stores will be limited to their current stock(and maybe what distributors might have left to deliver) but no more untiil gw re-opens.
But until GW says something it's speculation. I know I'll get tomorow couple paints I need that are running bit short but those I need eventually anyway. And nuln oil is nuln oil whether I buy it tomorrow or week later

Last time things shut down GW and many businesses shut down fully with furlough payments. For many there wasn't even the option of being open - if you were non-essential and couldn't work from home you were closed.
This time around companies are better prepared and government isn't closing them down forcefully. It's far more a focus on social activities (getting drunk; eating out; visiting friends) whilst at the same time restricting work/jobs to only safe conditions. So yes GW should be able to remain open and keep shipping product to 3rd party stores. Of course only stores that can do mail-order themselves will likely want to get stock and GW's own stores likely won't get stock delivered because they'll be closed.
USA numbers have been going up too. Worried this might kill off a lot of FLGS that barely made it through the last one. If a store doesn't have a way to sell online it's gonna have a hard time staying open. If you can order from your local places now would be the time, UK or no. I ordered a few things from mine and it took a few weeks to get in. From the sound of things GW prioritizes new releases over restocks so keep that in mind if you're wanting something that isn't the latest hotness. It could take much longer than normal to come in.

Games-workshop.com – Open for Business! When the UK government announced new lockdown measures for England this week, we received a lot of questions about what that means for the Warhammer hobby. The good news is, we’re not expecting any knock-on effects from the lockdown in England to our operations elsewhere in the world. Warhammer shops will stay open (wherever it is safe for them to do so), our webstores are standing by to take your orders, and our factories and warehouses are operating safely – so your weekly Warhammer new releases will keep coming!
Stores in England Closed from Thursday In England, our Warhammer shops (including Warhammer World) will be closed from Thursday, in line with government regulations. That means today and tomorrow are the last chance you’ll get to visit your local Warhammer store for at least a month, so make sure to pop by and stock up on your hobby essentials before they seal the blast doors.
Other Warhammer Stores – Open Where They Can Be! There are several other lockdowns in effect in Europe currently, including France, Wales and Belgium. Wherever we have Warhammer stores, we’ll follow local government guidelines, so keep an eye on reliable news outlets in your area for the latest. If your local shop is closed, don’t worry. We’ll get you your Warhammer as long as trucks can drive, planes can fly and your lovely local postie is making deliveries on your street. In short – we’re always open online.
Stay Connected Online Lockdown can be a tough time, and it’s good to keep busy. Remember, to look out for each other. Now’s the time to arrange video build and paint sessions with your friends and take a moment to check in on each other (virtually).
We’ll be playing our part too – come join Wade, Chris, Nick and Ben for our daily live Twitch shows. And remember to share your own hobby with us using #WarhammerCommunity.
Stay safe, folks.

Businesses are allowed to carry on as long as they meet safety measures and are covid prepared. For example my factory/service in which I work in London.
Do not panic, stop spreading fake news.
This is not as in first lockdown in UK.
Don't be a covidiot - stop buying out toilet rolls!!!

- England enters a lockdown, currently scheduled for four weeks, on Thursday.
- Wales exits a 17 day lockdown on Nov 9th.
- Northern Ireland is in lockdown until Nov 13th.
- Scotland is just changed to a new 5 tier system, but is not currently in lockdown.

I mean, if we're going to get technical about it... then the tiers systems are effectively lockdowns too, just at varying levels.
In any case, the varying levels in Scotland, Ireland and Wales won't affect GW's operation much, but could be good to know for third parties based there I suppose.

I know back in March there was a general bottleneck of online ordering hobby related things if we look beyond wargaming/GW - just had some delays for board games, plastic kits and things like that (the kind of stuff people are ordering in mass when you're in lockdown)
Will be interesting to see how much of an issue that will be this time around, I should think those kinds of places are normally more busy at this time of year anyway with the weather closing in.
