I find the problem is not just how many you need but how many you can convert with. Eg the Reanimator is a fantastic little kit for converting with - the Spyder and canopteck wraiths are even more versatile.

First paint isn’t till issue 6? Or are we getting a Blue and a Silver in some of the earlier issues? Automatically Appended Next Post: Never mind, I just looked in the main site.
Brass, Blue, Silver all in issues 2, 3, 4.
Makes that first batch a bit better.
(At least it’s not another Gold, though that Blue paint... )

Bah. too slow. That's what I get for fact-checking, I suppose.
So far, only my local GW has had any issues in stock. WHSmiths, Morrisons, ASDA and Sainsburys have all failed me.

I had the same experience with two branches of WH Smiths and a Sainsbury's - could've tried a third WH Smiths, but that would've been quite a timesink.
What I did see, though, in one of the WH Smiths and the Sainsbury's, was a £9.99 magazine about "Getting started in Warhammer 40,000" - which I didn't pick up.

My Asda (Walsgrave Coventry) has a boatload of issue one in. Must be at least 30 copies sitting on the shelf right now.
With issue 2 is it a two week wait, so released on Wednesday 8th September?

Nothing in my local Sainsbury’s, but there are a lot of gaps on the magazine shelves. They’ve not even had this month’s issue of Viz, and the next one is due out fairly soon.

Got two to give to people. And one for myself for converting (with my sub having the standard copy too).
Doesn’t look like it’s worth grabbing a load for people who don’t want to miss out and pay scalpers prices.
Although did that ever really happen with issue 1’s.
I guess as it’s characters this time.
Maybe those two go for a lot. But I can’t imagine more than a couple of quid, as Indomitus was everywhere.

Not just Indomitus, they are in the Recruit edition for £32.50 rrp, and you get 10 Necron Warriors, 3 Scarabs and 5 Assault Intercessors bundled in with that lot. So hopefully that stops any wholesale scalping of the issue.

Ah yeah good point!
Even more chance for people.
I don’t know what I want to do with the alternates yet, weapon and head swaps seem in order.
Harder for that Royal Warden..
I’m still so torn as to whether cherry picking or full sub is in order..
I just already have a big Necron army, old style.
These warriors don’t fit in well..

Well you can’t cherry pick the Flayed Ones, because they all belong to me.
This is established scientific fact, on account I claimed bagsies ages ago. Given bagsies is the strongest scientific and legal principle, my bagsies stands.

Picked up 2 copies of issue number one ( WH smiths Guildford) and with a few spares from the bladeguards box it's easy to make a couple of different looking lieutenants.

Those aren't official models, they don't have their own stats . Kids today with conversions.

Those look awesome, but I was thinking of doing the same when it comes to Australia but to bulk out my Bladeguard instead of Lts.
I havent been able to identify any real difference between that Lt model and a Bladeguard model beyond the weapon load out.
Am I missing something obvious or is it just the little stripe on the helmet?

Local McColls newsagents in Wokingham had about 8 on Friday. Smiths had none but they get magazine delivery on Thursdayso should have later this week.
Smiths did have the new "Intro to WH40k" which I bought by mistake. £9 for 2 models. ugh.

I almost made the same mistake! It’s a bit weird that there are two different 40k magazines launched at the same time with the same models included, with very different price tags. I wonder if this is GW experimenting, maybe thinking of cutting out the middle man for future runs?

I don't think there's any discernible difference between the lieutenant and a bladeguard vet, even the helmet stripe is just painted on. Strictly speaking you'd only need to swap his neo-Volkite pistol for a heavy bolt pistol as the power sword is on his hip. In reality you might want to shave off the power sword and give him a sword in his hand so he reads as bladeguard better on the TT.

Its really just the Iron Halo thats different, the LT's is slightly larger than the Bladeguard ones, otherwise they are virtually identical.

Bladeguard Vet Sergeant can swap out his heavy BP for a neo-volkite or plasma pistol, so you’re all good if you’re using the Lt. as a BGV Sgt. Looking at the sprue for the Lt, the sheathed sword on his hip comes as a separate piece, so, for a standard BGV trooper, it should be easy enough to clip off the sword hilt to make an empty sheath, and swap the NV pistol for a relic blade or whatever power sword you have handy. Great idea, btw, I’m picking up three of these to add to my indomitus BG Vets. Now I’m thinking how to convert the spare Royal Wardens into some of the Necron named characters who are still in finecast…

Thank you all for that.
I am happy with that, as it means my Indomitus Bladeguard (and Indomitus LT I guess) plus a box of regular Bladeguard combined with a couple of these Loss Leader LTs should get me 9-10 Bladeguard depending on the amount of arm options in the box.
