We had one subscription in our group and whenever anyone wanted multiples of something, we could just order extra magazines through Hachette. Maybe that works for US customers as well?

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Question:
I noticed that the last of the premium subscription packs comes with issue 69. Will you still pay the extra $3 all the way up to issue 80, or will the subscription revert back to the normal price at that point?

I had the Warhammer Legends collection on premium, they reduced the price after the last premium package was sent. So premium up until issue 69 if it's the same trend as that.

So far, there is no way to order singles or extras on the US site.

Issues 1-3 were Pack 1. Pack 2 is issues 4-7 and the first bonus.

I got the email that I wouldn't get charged until March 8, 3 days after i was already charged. Maybe one day this company will get its poop in a group. What is this the 3rd time they've done this thing? You would think they would have ironed out the kinks by now.

The US version isn't run by Hatchette, it's run by Agora. This is the first time Agora has done a part work magazine sub.

You're right. I forgot that. Oh well, not like I don't have enough unpainted models anyway.

That explains the shipping notice email I just got from Agora. Had no idea if that was an eBay seller or Kickstarter project shipping to me. Now I know.

The US rollout of Warhammer Imperium is coming across as slipshod. It's like they want the project to fail.

Given how poorly it is packaged compared to the UK release...they are going to spend $$$ replacing magazines and paint...

Is it packaged better in the UK or is the US postal system a bit more, shall we say, unforgiving?

My Hachette deliveries all arrive with the four issues inside a plastic envelope.

The original two I received during the trial run last year had plastic cases holding the paint, dice, brushes and models.

The first 3 issues I received this year had the stuff just dumped into the plastic bag...resulting in minor damage to the magazines, but people are reporting the jars of paint coming open...

My first Imperium deliveries had the little plastic trays but all issues since have come with the models and paints inside the plastic packaging as per the issues that can be found on store shelves.

The US Postal Service or whoever is delivering them over there must be going all out for paint pots to have opened in transit. All my pots have arrived with the lids still sealed.

Only the first issue (maybe the second) had the plastic packaging in the UK, basically to make it look more impressive so people pick it up and look closer and maybe subscribe

after that it's just the flimsy plastic bag whether it's on the store shelf or direct from hachette

having the sprue scuff the magazine is par for the course, but i've never had one with holes punched in it or with a pot popped open but i guess that could be down to the postal sorting machines design (maybe how rough the postal workers are too but i suspect that's less likely)

From looking at reviews from the UK, I’m pretty certain packaging is the same. This was also indicated by the customer service rep who responded to my complaint about insufficient packaging and crumpled magazines as a result. I was lucky enough to not have opened pots. I think the us postal service is less forgiving than the UK mail, but also, magazines travel much farther in the USA. I agree they will be replacing a lot if they don’t beef up packaging, and really all that’s needed is a backing piece of cardboard, and a sticker “do not bend”.

Agreed. The vastly increased distances are often misunderstood by people across the pond: the U.S. is the TWICE the size of the entire European Union. Packages have to travel much farther, and high-speed automatic sorting machines are used by the USPS at various stops along the way.

A piece of cardboard might help, but a padded envelope would be better—that would smooth out the bumps (e.g. paint pots) which get caught in sorting machines, or poke through the thin envelope from (or are crushed by) heavy stacking by FedEx.

In classic Hachette style, though, trying to add most of the issues to your basket will get you a popup telling you that they're not really available.

Oh that's a great tip, thank you. Issue #7 is the real bargain for most painters I think -- big bottles of Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade working out at £2 a bottle.

Did Fulgrim Just Behead Ferrus?

Fort Worth, TX

Just got my first subscription pack via Agora here in the US, issues 1-3. They were just inside a black plastic envelope, which the USPS folded over and crammed into my mailbox. Miraculously, there was no actual damage to the contents (models, paints, or even the starter brush). The magazines are a bit bent, but that's it.

Sssssh!

I'm being friendly while trying to keep the Chaos vehicle sprues and easy build Reivers to myself.

The Space Marine bike issue is still available.

Hachette website tips. If it says 'out of stock', it is. If it says 'low stock', it probably is out of stock.

The same for me in SoCal. However, the local ones did not get issues 1 or 2, and there is not sign of #4.
