Since it's fun and I wanted to hear your opinions: what do you want to see released from GW in 2021?

Most importantly for me:
- complete update of most of the eldar range. No more failcast and new shiny plastic aspect warriors.....and I mean every aspect except banshees. Also new sculpts for every phoenix lord (except jain zar of course)
- updated plastic imperial guard regiments, preferably new plastic kits for catachan, cadian, vostroyan and steel legion

Since GW is into releasing slaanesh stuff recently I'd like to see:
- demon primarch fulgrim
- new lucius in plastic
- new emperors children/noise marine kit

Also:
- demon primarch angron
- new khorne berzerkers kit (the old ones are so fugly and tiny....)
- new genestealer kit for tyranids
- no more failcast anywhere for any faction (completely unrealistic I know, but since we're wishlisting...)

One last thing: since it is way more likely we are going to get even more primaris stuff....if GW must feed the primaris train even more then I demand they at least give us primaris marines or a gravis type unit with lightning claws.....seriously, where are the lightning claws?

Warhammer: The Old World. A 30k xenos book. Plastic Aspect Warriors that aren't $50/5 monopose minis. Mordheim. More updates to old kits rather than entirely new units with rules set up to make the old unit obsolete. More Exalted Sorcerers-style HQ kits where instead of buying one $40+ monopose character with no options you can get a box of several HQs with loads of options/poses/customizability. Xenos content for Titanicus. Battlefleet Gothic. Plastic Legio Cybernetica/Ordo Reductor/any FW Eldar kit. An updated Vampire.

First off, big agreement with everything Tiberias and AnomanderRake said, except more primaris. Just lay off of those for a little while after releasing everything currently in the pipeline for them please gw? Maybe do some things for other factions and give loyalist players wallets time to recover?

For my wishlist: A new CSM codex with actual Legion rules like we had in 3.5 and Traitor Legions, no more everyone just being Black Legion/Renegades with different paint schemes. An actual Chosen kit would be nice too, preferably not blinged out with tons of baroque armour trim, but in Mark II, III, and IV armour, and lots of combi-weapon options. Finally, a FAQ for the Imperial Armour Compendium that fixes all of the remaining typos and omissions, and applies Martial Legacy in a more sensible manner (please look at the 6th/7th edition Imperial Armour books gw).

A revamp of the Craftworld model line. An actual expansion of the Dark Eldar model line. Renegade and heretics codex and model line (for Halloween). Keeping the good and semi regular update on the 40K themed specialist games. Brush up some Ork, Tyranid and Tau aging and finecast models. Proper Noise Marines, Chaos Chosen and Khorne Berzerkers just in time for the new Chaos Marine Codex. That's for 40K and its little spawns.

New Soulblight Vampires for AoS. Expansion of the model range of the Lumineth, Ossiarch Bonereaper, Idoneth, Flesh Eater Court and Fyreslayers. Keep up the good work for the AoS specialist games.

All of this might fit better in a 18 months schedule though.

Keep the Stormcast Eternal on the backburner a little bit and the same for Primaris Marines. Keep them in two faction boxes with maybe a new leader model thrown in there.

What would I like for 40k....

*No more Fine Cast - Whichever force is being released atm? Use that as the excuse to finally purge that range of this stuff & replace with plastic.

*Necrons - I'd really like a kick-ass plastic kit for the Nightbringer & the Deceiver to match my quite awesome Void Dragon.

*SM (Primaris) - A Primaris Drop Pod. And a Primaris Dreadnaught Drop Pod from FW.

*Should Chaos be on the '21 release list? Then I want the option to mount characters/champions on the various demonic mounts - Juggernaughts/Discs/Steeds/& um, whatever Nurgle uses.

*Plastic Eldar Aspect warriors, the Exarchs, & well, anything else that's either still Finecast or metal in the Eldar range.

*Squats!

*A few rule changes;
1) Assault ramps for Land Raiders
2) Lose the restriction on SM vehicles not being able to transport Primaris (or Primaris only)
3) Outside of TOURNAMENT matched play, lose the restrictions on only being able to put 1/2 your force in DS/reserve & when they have to enter by.
4) Outside of TOURNAMENT matched play, lose the Rule of 3

40k (pick any three and I will be happy):

-Emperors Children
-World Eaters
-Plastic releases for all Aspect Warrior units
-Kroot Mercs army and/or Tau Auxiliary units expansion
-Sisters Start Collecting/more battleboxes including Sisters (beyond the one they just previewed)
-Militarum Tempestus expansion (would like some more thematically appropriate Elite/Fast/Heavy options so they can be more effectively fielded as standalone)
-Grot rebels
-Ynnari expansion (unique Ynnari only units)
-Exodites
-Dark Mechanicus

AOS:
-Ossiarch Start Collecting/inclusion in 2-player battleboxes
-Soulblight vampires (not opposed to Vampirates, just would like an option wherein my 4 units of Blood Knights remain thematically appropriate and don't turn into $100/unit paperweights/thematic outliers)

Titanicus:
-Chaos Titans and Knights/Daemon Engines

Aeronautica:
-Tau Manta
-Chaos faction including Harbinger bomber

I was asked for a wishlist. What I'm expecting is more Primaris kits, Forge World to get completely shuttered, Harlequins to get squatted for having the temerity to perform well against Space Marines, CSM to remain at 1W due to a typo that never gets corrected except for a new larger-scale Chosen kit that gets 2W, all Chaos/Guard units' weapons to get renamed to make sure the SM version is better, half a dozen new specialist games that get one initial box release and are never touched again, and The Old World to turn into the next Fires of Cyraxus (every year or so they'll announce a new release date two years in the future).

The start of a Craftworlds range refresh.

I say start because doing everything at once may be a little unrealistic, but the beginnings of getting rid of finecast and overhauling some of the older kits should also be focused around getting new players into the army. Doing all plastic aspects and phoenix lords might be good for existing players, but when the 22 year old Guardians, finecast Rangers and wonky looking Dire Avengers are the core of the army and what new players will have to be collecting and painting first that's basically hobby poison. It would be 8th Ed Tomb Kings all over again: gorgeous new kits for special and rare units while still requiring people to buy 80+ of those terrible goofy skeleton models before they can even begin to think about buying the cool stuff.

So honestly I'd prefer to see a new Guardian kit, ideally with storm Guardian parts and maybe a plastic Warlock squad leader option too. Plastic Rangers, updated and improved Dire Avengers. Maybe give them alternate weapon options too. Then for actual Aspect Warriors the priorities should be Spiders, Hawks and Spears since they're all the oldest and they also physically look the most dated. Scorpions, Reapers and Dragons can wait a little while longer because they still hold up fairly well, maybe as a sort of phase 2 release a year further down the line or in 10th edition. GW loves big boutique monster sculpts so the Avatar getting a brand new kit would obviously be a good candidate too. In terms of characters there needs to be a Foot Autarch option, ideally with some customization (like the Canoness kit) and PLASTIC WARLOCKS are an absolute must. Making just a Warlock Conclave box giving you lots of build and pose options would work really well here. Since Asurmen is the first and most important Phoenix Lord he should really be updated alongside this stuff, you could maybe add Maugan Ra too since he's fairly popular and is linked in with a few ongoing storylines.

What would be ideal about any of this stuff would be 50/50 gender split in the models, including stuff like the foot Autarch. GW wants to improve the image of 40k but not having it be just be populated by a bunch of angry muscular white guys? Then increase the female representation in armies that actually have a 50/50 gender split. There are reasons what few women exist in the tabletop gaming space usually bounce super hard off of 40K and are drawn to other games for instance.

Actually I think Tyranids are at a really nice spot right now model-wise. Give them a dual Bio-/Pyrovore kit and new gants if you're generous and they're done. I know the Lictor is still finecast but imho both he and Deathleaper are fine sculpts not in dire need for replacement and personally I kinda like that Tyranids do the 'many medium sized monsters' so good that I don't think they really need something bigger than Trygon or Maleceptor. I mean the Trygon was officially a bio-titan.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

That's why I said the start of one. Obviously the Necron refresh would be ideal, but I'm not sure GW has it in them to do something similar again so soon.

I get the scepticism, but why shouldn't GW be able to give Eldar the Necron treatment? Apparently GW doubled their sales numbers in 2020 or something (correct me on this, but the numbers seem to be rather good). I think they have the capacity to do it.

Also, I think its awsome that basically everyone in this thread is in agreement about the eldar range needing updates. Which also feeds into my pet peeve that the argument: "GW realeases so much primaris stuff, because that range is their undisputed cash cow" is crap. That may be true now, but that is sort of a self fulfilling prophecy, because if they pump most of their resources into primaris it is no wonder that eldar won't sell as well.
Just my opinion, but if they gave Eldar the Necron treatment and also realeased all the phoenix lords in plastic, plus a new plastic avatar of khaine, I think hobbyists would absolutely jump on it.

My wishlist

1) Tyranid duel kits for Biovore/pyrovore and Lictor/Deathleaper - come on GW its been years and its the last core unit finecast left in the range!!!
I'd also welcome a plastic reworking of the Red Terror - because gosh darn it he's our only unique sculpt hero style model - we deserve more than finecast!

2) Craftworld reworking commences - yep Craftworld Eldar need this. It also helps GW in their quest to make Yinnari a thing.

3) More lore and art books - both new ones and reprints of old ones. With fingers crossed that BL gives at least a month or two heads up on the release date and orders more than normal so they last on shelf for a good while.

4) Second waves for more AoS armies. Perhaps even no more new armies (though I would accept a new destruction army, a new death army focusing on vampires and a new aelf army focusing on Malarion - since all 3 of those have been heavily hinted - and because destruction needs something that isn't a gobbo/urruk)

5) The start of Chaos titans for Adpeticus Titanicus. Heck a start of Xenos would also be more than welcome, but I'll take Chaos as at least moving the time-line within the game forward.

6) DRAGONS - yes more dragons for AoS!

7) A return of most of the FW models for AoS lost at the start of 2020

I'll second (third? fourth?) the call to get rid of all the Finecast and revamp the old model ranges, and also lay off Loyalist Marines for a while because "ouch, my poor wallet" *, but outside of that what I really want to see is GW put some significant effort into addressing the issues with the tournament pack and secondary objectives.

The existing secondaries need work, the current rules for determining who holds an objective are stupid, putting army-specific secondaries in Codexes instead of a future Tournament Pack was breathtakingly stupid, and while the missions are some of the best I've seen out of GW they still all have the problem that if you're losing on both points and attrition there's not much you can do to turn things around besides hoping your opponent's dice go cold. Putting together a team who's only job was to come up with a scenario pack that addressed those issues would be a really smart move on GW's part.

* - I'd make an exception for a Suppressor kit, especially if it was a dual-build kit for a melee jump unit and especially especially if it also checked off the 'generic Shrike' Primaris Jump Captain to go with the 'generic Fierros' Primaris Techmarine. Yeah I'm very much aware that I'm being a hypocrite.

I really only wish for one thing. An interesting ork codex that improves on what we have now and doesn't remove options or breaks the army.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Feth it here goes:

Stop primaris releases for atleast 1 year. Meanwhile make the fething transport rules less fething asinine, we get it GW you bunch of corporate greedy feths, you want to force people to buy another new Primaris Transport tm.. feth off.

Working fething transport vehicles. No more only open topped or dismebark snowflake rules for forced sales, it's a fething transport in a wargame, make it work like one.

Yeet anything finecast, no seriously,.

Analyse as to why certain factions don't sell, and why SoB sold, refresh the ranges of those factions that dont, adapt prices for horde factions that don't aswell, especially in consideration of guard . Reimplement the 20 guardsmen box for a "sensible " price, ossiarch AoS was proof that you are not completely fething lost. For the other factions take a look at the core rules and their faction rules and determine where the disconect is.

Update all factions at the same time in a new edition, favouritsm shown to some marines is only going to further alienate other factions in regards to updates. Much more so when there are factions that would've actually needed the update to remain atleast somewhat relevant.

As a complete Imperium fanboy I'd love to see Craftworld get the love they need and deserve, all new Aspect/Phoenix lord kits and an Avatar that really looks the part.

I do expect more Primaris but I hope it's things like filling in the gaps in the character lines up (eg Phobos Apothercary/Gravis Chaplain) along with a Rhino equivalent.

If we do get another Primarch it should be a loyalist first with Emperor's Children as the 2021 cap stone.

For AOS, a range refresh for the Seraphon as their infantry are really showing their age as well.

If AOS gets a brand new faction fingers crossed it will be for Destruction that isn't just a new version of an element of the Old World Orc & Goblins list, maybe a human faction who worship Gorkamorka rather then Sigmar

Were it entirely up to me, with absolutely no concessions to practicality or likelihood of actually happening, here's what I'd like to see:

• Kill Finecast, replace any models with lovely new plastic kits.

• No more weird, limited load-outs for models. One of the things that drew me to 40K in the first place was the option to create and customise your own units; let me keep doing that instead of further limiting wargear options to *precisely* match specific kits.

• No more named/special characters. Boring.

GW go six months without releasing yet more bloody Primaris Marines challenge.

• Bring back the mega-armour Warboss. New kit, loads of options/variety of bitz.
