I love the Gor models but don't ever plan on getting into AoS. I hate the Chaos Possessed set. I am running a demonic themed Slaanesh marine army, and would like to use Gors as Possessed. How many people would have an issue with this?

I put depends but really as long as it looks good and makes sense, I rarely have a problem with stuff like this.

Were we to play I'd say "it depends".
Are you going to kit bash them with appropriate weapons, bits of marines, SM tech/armor etc? If so, probably +.
Or are you just going to toss units of Gors on the table in all their fantasy glory & say "These are my possessed."? If so, no.
Also, aren't there already stats for beastmen in one of the Blackstone sets?

I would say, try to make them look like they belong in 40K, but otherwise go for it.

Square Bases for Life!
AoS is pure garbage
Kill Primaris, Kill the Primarchs. They don't belong in 40K
40K is fantasy in space, not sci-fi |

I run units of beastmen in my Flawless Host so if you give them pistols I'd say ok to that.
running them (stock)as possessed, probably not.
kitbash them with the possessed kit. no problem

I would be fine with running the models as possessed with no alterations. Why not?

I would suggest you check out the new AoS SlannGor McGuffin models coming soon...you can see them on Warhammer Community at the moment as part of the Hedonites release.
They look very good and would take minimal converting, if at all.
|
Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you. |

Kitbashed together with chaos marines...yes, but otherwise they are just beast men.
EDIT: To be clear, if you didn't have Beastmen in your list then I'd personally be okay with them as they are. Its just confusing when one has two different units using the same models.

I’d rather they house ruled them, make up their own rules. Possessed don’t really fit for me. Rather see cultists with extra toughness and 3+ WS.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games. |

I'm using my Pestigors as Plague Bearers.
For Possessed I've converted the big Nurgle Blood Bowl dudes, gave them a backpack and some Marine arms.
Would I have a problem with unconverted Gors as Possessed? No. But for a Slaanesh warband I agree with one of the other posters, those new hedonite Daemon guys would work even better and without any conversion (maybe they'd work even better as Spawn, not sure about their size).

As other said I love conversions and I would love Gors kitbashed and converted into possessed.
But pure proxies are for those who started recently an army or are in the process of switching faction and don't have enough models to play properly, and I can accept them only for those kind of players.
I played harlequins using my drukhari and ork koptas or sisters using SW and some ork vehicles because I didn't have a single model of those armies and wanted to tried them. But if I owned a full collection of those factions I'd never bring a unit from a different faction or even different game, without any work on it, to permanently act as a count as.

As they are: I see where you're coming from, but it doesn't QUITE work for me. Nearly, tho....

I'd say Gors (and Ungors) are a little small to be CSM Possessed but would be great as cultists for Slaanesh or Khorne lists
Like NinthMusketeer said, if you're going for a Slaanesh Army then the new Hedonist beastmen look great for that
Otherwise a kitbase would probably be a good way to go if you're concerned people might protest (though that would be a poor sport if they did).

That's a more than acceptable long term proxy to me. Bonus if you take time to put the correct weapons and what have you on them.
I've often found that people who want a full plastic force are more flexible with bringing in potential proxies from other games/factions.

These look way too big for Possessed. Mutilators or Greater Possessed, maybe, regular weedy ones, not really.
