Really shows their Hype machine is seriously griped with the pandemic, and they're lacking material for their everyday Warhammer Community articles.

The "big previews" can't be as big as they'd like.

Well, generally the idea of previews is to show something new. Not something people have known about for weeks. People aren't ravenous, they were just expecting previews.

100% this. GW just has no ability to set expectations with the fans when it comes to these streams.

Well seeing dakkadakka is full of complain and whining if preview isn't at least 100 new kits per faction and new edition gw can't satisfy them.

Post preview dakkadakka whining is best part of previews. Keep it up! Whine! Whine! We want more whine!

Holy cow... I didn't tune in so maybe I missed something fundamental. But this just seems like a massive dud, even if you like the models (and I've only seen mecha-HLoT so I don't know yet). I know the supply chain/ERP/whatever has massively screwed with GW and probably hampered their confidence in the ability to deliver releases at any given time. But if that's the case, and you don't have anything you can share... y'know, don't share it. Write an article, do another Saturday preview, whatever; this just is not the right way to market your stuff.

I'm still gobsmacked. Yesterday was pretty decent, how could today be so bad!?

Because unless its 40k marines or AOS or <insert side game> GW aint goign to put in any effort...

That was pretty sparse, especially as 40k campaign books do absolutely nothing for me. I love the sisters stuff though. The High Lord (Vahl?)is very cool. The melee Celestans are great (although the way their shields are, they’d snap their wrists with the first solid hit).

The High Lord of Terra was new. Seeing the whole setup of the shieldbearers was new. The Priest was new. Charadon book II was new. Sorry that the Sisters of Battle Bulletin or the two units previewed in earlier shows(tank+warsuits) took away from your enjoyment of things, I guess?

I'm disappointed there wasn't any discussion of the Mechanicus. The previews we've gotten have been absolute crap, focused on basically just weapon changes. I don't need to know the weapon rules, I want to know how the damn Marshal works. I want to know how Canticles are going to function.

The fact that they advertised the second 40K day with "because we have so much to show" is an absolute joke, lol.

I'll come back late Saturday morning and do a quick visual recap in 4 minutes.

I didn't even watch the stream yet I was even underwhelmed just reading this thread. Honestly the boxed/specialist games day is probably gonna be the highlight of the week. Necro and BB are shaping up to be more exciting than the main gw games anyway.

That was poor compared to yesterday's reveal as most of it was stuff we've already seen before. Was a bit surprised when the presenters said that Admech had already been covered in previous previews, as this wasn't much different.

Y'know, I wouldn't have minded if they had announced something amazing for the SoBs, but those suits belong with Imperial Knights.

Nothing against the Charadron book and scenery pack but they weren't much to get excited about.

Quite like Orks but if thats all its going to be on Friday then I'd much rather skip to the community article instead...

They should have just put these up in a Warhammer Community article. What's the point of a livestream where even the presenters just looked bored and the same descriptions were regurgitated multiple times?

This is a self-inflicted pie on GW's face.

Agreed. I like both Adam and Eddie, and think in general they do a really good job. But telling them to talk about two new models and a niche campaign book for 40 minutes and act excited is asking a lot of anyone.

Now I'm thinking day 2 will probably be licensed game crap and animation. I can't wait for yet another progress update on that monochrome blood angel thing they've had cooking since forever

They'd seriously better not. Them wasting time on that crap shovelware game for AoS yesterday was actually offensive to me, and I'm bored to tears with hearing about animations that have no expected release window.

A second $60 DLC for ad mech is pretty funny stuff. They're nothing if not persistent about milking ad mech players for every penny they've got.

At least the people advocating for realistic fighting style in 40k can't moan anymore about the halberd and shield. They will complain about the impracticality of a pistol incorporated in a shield that way instead.

I know. It kind of bugs me to. They don't have to do daily articles... They could do articles when there interesting stuff to article about..

Just like "big 40k reveal" doesn't have to happen if theres nothing to reveal.. Very floppy wet fish thing this preview..

I don't know why they thought they needed to stretch this over a week?

AOS preview has significantly more brand new never before seen models than the 40k one, yet they have so much 40k to show they need 2 days?

Should have done one day and be done with it.

I also do not like this trend of high lords of Terra (who quite frankly have better things to be doing than fighting in a battle) coming to the battlefield, it doesn't work or make sense fluff wise alone.

I’m not sure they needed to split this up into a full week. It would’ve been a lot more impressive all being on the same day imo. Now we have to wait 2 more days to see some other thing for 40K which could’ve just been shown today.

If they trimmed down the obligatory ten minutes of corporate PR "Wow this looks like the bestist model ever Eddie!" they could probably fit everything 40k into one hour. If they moved Saturday's to Friday they could even fill a full weekday calendar.

I like all the things we've so far, both yesterday and today, but was surprised at how short the preview today was. I'm not sure they needed to stretch out Warhammer Fest for an entire week, they probably could have done this over Friday-Sunday and kept up a bit more energy and excitement.

Yeah, that's the level of anticipation you should probably have though, isn't it? If you're irritated or disappointed or otherwise upset at the content of this preview, if you were under the misapprehension that it would be a life changing event for you on the basis of the marketing hype, I'd argue that's entirely on you tbh.

Disappointed that with orks almost certainly being on Friday, there will likely be no big surprises for 40k. We knew Sisters and Orks were coming, so thats that. I guess we can blame COVID for this.

Strange to think I'm more excited for the BL session now than the next 40k one!

Nobody hoped for sororitas in exosuits. Nobody hoped for "as close to a primarch as it gets" high lordess of terra Joan of Arc either.

If they actually delivered what their customers are hoping for, say, updated Eldar or Tyranids, people would be more acommodating.

It had 5. Kragnos, the Dire Wolves, Radukar in his final form, Belladama, and dragon lady. Everything else had been seen.

Today had the High Lord, Priest, and a full look at the new Celestian variant kit. It wasn't as big of a difference as people are making it out to be, provided one actually followed AoS previews.

Should have done one day and be done with it.

Yes, can’t wait for the next Siege of Terra novel where half of it is about some time-traveling perpetual and the only traitor viewpoint is Perturabo’s equerry.

This whole "Warhammer Fest Week" is feeling kinda phoned in. The volume and nature of the content they are revealing doesn't really warrant daily 30 minute streams to reveal it. In the past these reveal streams have been hour-long affairs on a saturday previewing significant amounts of content slated for the next 2-3 months of releases. I think we've been conditioned to expect that level of output from GW from these streams, so when they show up for half that time with a fraction of the content we end up feeling underwhelmed. They would have been better off just doing daily article drops (still waiting for them to update WarCom, looks like they finally put the twitch stream up - only after it ended), OR doing two hour long saturday streams over a two week period or something.
