Nobody hoped for sororitas in exosuits. Nobody hoped for "as close to a primarch as it gets" high lordess of terra Joan of Arc either.

If they actually delivered what their customers are hoping for, say, updated Eldar or Tyranids, people would be more acommodating.

NVM an actual not cut content DLC book to facilitate a core playstyle of a whole super faction and nvm an actual roadmap when where what ca get's a rule update.

I'm bemused by a lot of aspects of this, but one of them is wondering why GW didn't even hold the Ork stuff back. Instead they've already previewed several kits that could have made a big smash on Friday. It feels a bit like they've let their previous Saturday preview cannibalize this Warhammer Fest stuff.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

So the two days of 40K is less because they had so much they needed to two days, and more because they had two days and somebody on the team needed to stretch out to cover it.

Gathering the Informations.

Warhammer Fest, in general, tends to be kind of a dud when it happens in terms of previews for the main games.

For example? 2018 basically just saw the announcement of some new paints, Malign Sorcery, and a new edition of AoS with two models shown. Most of the focus was on Forge World and specialist games. 2017 had a similar "heavy on FW/Specialist games while light on main games" vibe. Bonus points that it literally has stuff from Fires of Cyraxus!

Open question to Games Workshop.
Are 90% of your miniature designers working on Age of Sigmar?

Age of Sigmar yesterday got; 4 fantastic vampire lords on amazing looking vignettes, new dire wolves, vampire hunters, new Sylvaneth model, an amazing god of destruction. All this hot on the heels of the new Slannesh models, Lord Kroak and tons more besides.

What did the 40k players get in comparison?
A gouge book that you need to buy for £40 for 3 pages of rules.
And 2 Sisters of battle models, everything else we have seen months ago.

What really rubs salt into the wound is we are getting campaign books when half the factions don't even have a codex yet, why?

Drukhari got zero new models.

About time you started giving the 40k player base something new.

I already know that Fridays "big reveals" is going to be the beastsnagga kits they already revealed on warhammer community articles.

If you've got nothing to show, don't hype it up, you only shoot yourself in the foot.

That's not what I was talking about.

The kind of stuff on display was exactly why GW stopped engaging all those years back.

TBF GW wasted significantly less of my time when they didn't engage.

Vigo. Spain.

I don't like the Nundams but this one I actually do.

I don't know if its because of the spear, the pose, the robes giving it a better silhouette or just the colours, but it just rings different for me.

So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

It just shows it was stupid to use a whole week for all the reveals. They could have made a show just saturday and sunday and that would be more than enough. Actually, I think just one saturday would have been perfectly fine.

Another weird thing is these pre recorded "interviews". They had Phil Kelly on live to talk about the Lumineth and Bonereapers when they dropped and it was so much more informative. This time we had Jes Bickman(ham?) tell us that broken realms is a series of books. The 40k one was a bit better but why not have these guys on the livestream?

It’s the robes and colours. I already plan to convert my “regular” war suits with robes similar to the ones the High Lady is fitted with. Also, Martyred Lady is the most boring livery. Seriously, black on black? Even the black templars have those huge white shoulder pads to relive the abyssal emptiness.

Well, generally the idea of previews is to show something new. Not something people have known about for weeks. People aren't ravenous, they were just expecting previews.

100% this. GW just has no ability to set expectations with the fans when it comes to these streams.

Well seeing dakkadakka is full of complain and whining if preview isn't at least 100 new kits per faction and new edition gw can't satisfy them.

Post preview dakkadakka whining is best part of previews. Keep it up! Whine! Whine! We want more whine!

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.

How much of this week's reveals would have been shown at another event (e.g., AdeptiCon or NoVA) instead of this online Warhammer Fest?

If everything seen on the tapestry video is in the preview, it can easily be a gork-approved big smash. Painboss and new boyz are the least interesting things seen there.

I'm happy about the mace wielding version, much better than the the stick ones.

GW please, please no more stupid sororitas in power armour inside power armour....but highly unlikely.

Unless the Admech rules are for Mechanicum units I don't care.

This preview was completely pointless & wasted my time. Like others said I'm not gonna pay attention till Saturday afternoon and check out how "expansive" the new cool stuff is....ha

Okay, I don't play sisters but are them semi-augmented (like Marines-lite)? Because the standard bearer character looks huge compared to the priest character and I don't think it's entirely "because power armor" or base-detail shenanigans.

Pretty much everything.

I mean, when you're at the point you've already shown the majority of new units in previous previews / warhammer community articles, there's no need to stretch that poor show so much to basically announce the V9 codex and 2 named characters we didn't see before.

Otherwise, the real funny part of the show was reading the comments of the Twitch viewers as it kept going on. I suggest you to watch the video again just for that, especially at the end.

I think a big part of it is timing related. Previews are usually at 1pm BST, which is a little bit easier to work around for someone when it's literally during their work hours while at home from work.

Honestly, the pre-recorded interview of Stu Black was interesting to listen to, giving a few more hints on how the new codex works and what the sisters will have as tools on the battlefield.

as it should be. There’s a good chance that the Boxed Games and the mystery reveal will steal the show especially if it turns out to be BFG or a new heresy version

I think its a combination of

1) Natural height variation

2) One is young and healthy and a warrior, thus muscled and fit. So the warrior likely has a straight back and all. The other appears aged and thus with the ravishes of age has likely shrunk a bit before you consider that her stance is a little stooped

3) Boots, one is wearing thick heavy armour boots the other is in smaller shoes.

When you add those three together you can get quite a dramatic height difference; but its well within the bounds of reality.
