The price hike and lackluster are keeping me from pledging at the moment. I’m more tempted to buy additional copies of previous campaigns’ stretch goals.

Have they offered to allow customers to swap out ruined sections for whole walls

No and I’m almost sure they said that won’t be an option this time but I can’t find the comment - and KS now makes it very hard to find older comments as a lot are covered by privacy settings.

we did get a survey asking about whether we wanted more small bits (like previous SG packages) or fewer large ones,

so i'm hoping the car comes from the fewer larger option

So long as render = actual mini that's okay but the dragon that got shrunk (noticeable in the tiny skulls on the base) shows that things can change from render to mini. Hopefully the funding is sufficient and corners don't get cut to fit on the minimum number of sprues.

Also not liking this 42 SG unlocked advertising they are using - it's 14 SG unlocked containing 42 pieces many of which are duplicates.

This one as stalled hard, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it lose money over the next few days. There's no way it hits the walker and it doesnt really seem worthwhile without that.

I wish they had made the pieces less busy and allowed for the stretch goals to customize the walls themselves. The door piece with the meters/guages looks neat, until your realize that is your ONLY door option (and doesnt even have a door). If they had made them as stretch goal bits to glue on, or use their plug system, it would have been better.

Compared against what? The previous Rampart KS also grew at a slow pace until the last couple of days. We will see how it ends. I do agree that the walker was too lofty of a goal. 800K€ is the realm of really big KS with a generous amount of sg or something that drags customers in. Maybe if Archon were to offer it for cheap as an option?

Really should have had at least one more new wall theme, it'd take fewer sprues than the Kriegcake that nobody seems to even be excited for.

I agree.

It seems like the folks making these are spending more time making cool ideas than building kits and play testing their builds.

This KS seems haphazard, with very little of a “central vision” driving the project. It feels piecemeal and not fully thought out. More like various brainstorming ideas rather than a fully realized concept that merely needs a bit of fleshing out.

There seems to be a lack of consistent support for previous ideas in order to improve them. It all just feels so unfinished, all of the Rampart and Dungeons & Lasers lines. Like they have some great ideas but never really follow up on where the great idea started from.

The sculpts all seem better as bits in a kitbashing bits box and that includes the walls. Which is fine but I would like to have seen them actually completing some things.

An analogy would be comparing the DC cinematic universe to the Msrvel cinematic universe. DC has some cool concepts but never really carries them off and lacks to interwoven intricacies of the MCU that lead to some brilliant payoffs.

I suspect they will find a way to make the walker available though. Perhaps changed to an earlier stretchgoal.

Looking at all of the add-on bits that fit in the holes, I'm thinking for this new theme, mine are all getting the pegs cut off and are getting glued to the walls rather than the columns so that the columns can be completely magnetized.

Edit: Just noticed that the lights and other bits (circled in red) that are shown in the Ruined City color pics are actually from Cobalt sets, not this set.

I've completely magnetized five cathedral sets, so not many of those pegged pieces are getting used. Many of them don't work just randomly placed on the walls.

timd yeah those are cobalt plugs as they haven’t made any City ruins ones yet. I tend to just fill the holes rather than plug them but I build fairly permanent buildings.

Alien portal unlocked overnight. Next is that odd cannon at €224k (now €218k) then 2 large Jersey barriers at €232k. It’s ticking along at about €10k a day with 5 and a half days left.

The sgs are a bit all over the place. I'd say they are suffering from trying to cover all the GW options by offering a bit for orks, a bit for eldar, and so on.

Really not a fan of that cannon, it seems too orky compared to the rest of the set. If it was a normal artillery piece that would be much more fitting.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

I just PM-backed for a Euro. The campaign isn't as compelling as others, and as I like both the models and the "vertical" sets, it's annoying to have to purchase one or the other as piecemeal add-ons - and they're not cheap either.

Maybe you can do Vertical as your main pledge option and add the Miniatures Only pledge for 50€? Dunno what that does for shipping charges tho.

Unless they add the vertical pack as an add on that’s the way to go - pick vertical pack add the €50 miniatures pack separately.

They seem quite resistant to adding a vertical pack add on - a €50 price tag may not cover as you get €90 worth in the pack.

Stairs €10
Ladders €10
2 x floor packs €40
Ramp €15
Bridge €15

If you want all of the above as extras you might as well stack another €99 stater set on and get another terrain pack and SG pack for the extra €9

Apparently there’s a big update coming today - we need something to justify the €35 price on the SG pack.

Yeah, both are options, but then again.... leaving my pledge at a single euro and not adding anything is also a very real option.
The stuff in this KS isn't cheap and I can spend on GW and quite a few others with no wait and little to no shipping. I don't really see the vertical pack as worth €50, let alone €90. (though maybe it is - I just can't find a quality full image of everything included instead of small cropped thumbnails!) Regardless, it's not the unbeatable and compelling value proposition that some previous campaigns have been.

You wouldn't be wrong that this time around stuff is not cheap, but when you surf the official GWJP store, and find that 10 walls for AoS are 5000Y, or that a (great looking) statue for the same system reaches 9000Y and it's just one piece of terrain that doesn't even block LoS (also quite probably we will get hit with a huge price incerased due to UK inflation reaching 5% while Japanese prices more or less didn't move) then I'll take the waiting time.

I wish this KS, as Grumpy said above, would stick to one style, develop it further rather than the pasta stuck to the wall approach.

I see they’ve swapped out the 3rd Statue at €240k for the toxic waste barrels - good call they are much more useful and on theme for the KS. Archons Statues are very much in their own style and I’ve never found a use for them.

Yes, this is the way to go if you want lots of the vertical bundles. You are paying €40 over the cost of the lite pledge for €90 worth of vertical bundle,

Edit: this is incorrect. Now one stretch goals per set. "AND getting a stretch goals set for each pledge, which is not the case with the larger pledges."

The €50 price tag for the Defenders does not begin to cover the €100 cost if you buy them separately, so it doesn't seem to make sense to not have the vert bundle as an add on.
