If this was the only piece of evidence I might agree, but there's lots of little things that make me think maybe a full plastic DKOK force isn't coming.

There's also that they seem to be restocking DKOK (if they were being replaced, you'd think they wouldn't bother) and that they updated the FW DKOK advertising pictures.

Time will tell, but at this point I'm not going to be surprised if the kill team is the only plastic DKOK we get.

IT might also be that Deathriders and Earthshakers are not coming to plastic - which is sort of surprising for the Deathriders, but not that surprising for the Earthshakers.
The link on the site also lead to the basic DKOK infantry dudes.

It might also just be that the release is far enough out that FW's releases are going to be the "go to" for the time being.

Maybe. The other thing that I thought was a bit odd was GW scaled them such that they were roughly as tall as the FW DKOK, meaning they'd look okay standing side by side with the FW DKOK. It's odd of GW to care whether a model looks good next to an old model, they normally just scale creep everything.

We'll see I guess.

Something that I found interesting is there's definitely art in the Kill Team books for new versions of things.

That rumored Cadian redesign, of them looking more "ragged"? That's on pg 23 of the Core Book.
The Octarius book has what appears to be a DKoK Grenadier redesign in at least one piece of art(page 4, the DKoK fighting Kommandos on the balcony). The back two Korpsmen have what looks like armor plating on their forearms that the other Korpsmen don't.

Then there's the Tallarn art in there!

All told, I think that something might be coming for Guard proper...but it will be awhile to see it materialize.

I do hope GW re-release DKoK fully in plastic, Death Riders, Earthshaker Cannons and all. Getting Earthshakers from Forge World in AUS is a joke. Just for 3 guns and their crews it literally costs as much as a GW army. So as much as GW prices are gross, FW is obscene.

I generally like FW stuff, but I don't think I've bought anything from FW since they introduced regional pricing.

The thing that makes me think more DKOK are coming from GW is that ten squads in kill team are just a normal guard squad and an extra little sprue to make it kill team veterans. The two main spruces only have the options on for a normal guard squad, so all they would need to add for a full release would be a command squad and a heavy weapons squad, done matches cadian stuff. Would love rough riders etc but we will see.

Can't ForgeWorld just make resin upgrade kits for the regular plastic kit to make a Krieg Command Squad?

I think they’ll do like the Knight Armiger sprues, the box came with an A and B. But it’s just a manner of time until we get resin upgrades, the question of who makes them first. There was a WarCom post with some custom Valhallans. I think Puppet War already has heads that might work just need to copy the bed roll to cover the filter box.

IG needs a new basilisk/ Medusa kit a lot more than it needs a standalone earth's hake right now.

Death riders I could see getting a kit, similar to the serberys raiders. 3 riders with lance and pistol, and option to make an officer, sergeant, and commissar.

Already I've seen two local players painting swastikas on their snazzy new DkOK models from the new game boxset. Really kind of ruined it all for me.

I would have rather seen one of the other regiments in HP, Tallarn or Catachans, even Praetorians, before DkOK.

Honestly I think they need new Russ models. The old ones look like derpy Tonka Truck style tanks. Even out the proportions a bit, make the cannons look better.

So, racist stereotypes of Arabs straight out of the 90s, US army in Vietnam or Imperialist British/Rhodesians?

Clearly, so much less problematic.

If someone painted swastikas on My Little Pony dolls would it ruin those for you too?

The DKOK are no more inspired by Nazi Germany than any other facet of the 40k Imperium, and even if they were, basic infantry didn't bear the swastika.

Sounds like your local group doesn't have two braincells to rub together if two separate players thought that would be a good idea.

There is nothing racist about any of those factions. They're all LEAGUES different than painting literal swastikas on your models. Stop trying to create problems where there aren't any.

I'd say anyone painting swastikas on anything, 40K or not would sort of ruin it for me. DkOK models have a perceived look to them that invites that unfortunate issue. I never said DkOK shouldn't exist, I'm not here to cancel anything. I'm simply stating I'd rather have seen the other factions, instead of this one, and that I'm sad to say I've seen some of this bad behavior already.

I'd say it's exceptionally hard to find more racist people than 70s US Army or Colonial-era British. And Tallaran are a walking racist stereotype.

I don't know what you're trying to accomplish here with this whataboutist defence of people painting their models as literal Nazis, but I have to say it doesn't come across as anything good.

Preatorians are based on British troops during the Anglo-Zulu war, y'know, the time where the British kind of came to Africa to murder and conquer Africans.

Tallaran are based on racist, outdated portrayals of North Africans, from Lawrence of Arabia and such, portraying them as backwards savages in need of white people to save them.

Catachans are based on US army in Vietnam war, y'know, the time where a bunch of Americans came to Vietnam to murder and burn and rape natives and commit other horrific warcrimes.

Maybe educate yourself on what the models actually represent before you demand them, eh? So you don't come off as absolutely clueless.

The newer kit does mitigate that issue a bit. Still not great, but it isn't horrible.

With all that said, the rumormonger that brought us the BT army box contents and a slew of other rumors also claimed there is a new tank coming for Guard in 2022. "Between the size of a Baneblade and Leman Russ", IIRC.

Also worth mentioning that it was heavily implied that there's 4 boxes coming for DKoK. Infantry, HW Squad, Rough Riders, and one dual box of 5.

I'd lean towards the dual box being Grenadiers and/or Command Squad.

I abandoned my fledgling guard a while ago, and I am ready to reboot it. I really want to see what new stuff is coming for the guard. The new Krieg models are lovely, but I hope we get a bit more new infantry for variety and kitbashing.

And yeah, some sort of Land Raider sized guard tank would be cool. It think that is more wieldable size of 'big tank' for 40K than Baneblade size.

I'm fully expecting new Rough Riders down the line and that will be the moment I buy into Krieg.

Sheesh man, you know that they are pretty much more french WW1 era and even the steelhelmet of the DKoK has an adrian helmet type of Crest.

If anything it goes to show the low ammount of historical knowledge of certain people....

Also talk about how to ruin perfectly nicely done space franco-german trenchwarfare fanatics......

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

You have seen two people, locally, independent of each other, painting swastikas onto the new krieg models?
Every so often I read a comment on the internet that i find to be unbelievable. This is one of those times.

I mean, either you live with two racists who also collect krieg, or by chance you have witnessed these two people painting swastikas at your LGS in the past couple of weeks.

I get that you would have preferred other regiments in plastic instead of krieg, but you don’t have to make up edgy stories to justify it.

Now that FW has been restocking I'm really kind of torn.

I'm definitely willing to drop a fortune on the current FW stuff but I'll be kicking myself in the *** 6 months from now to find that GW is going to release a full plastic line.

Eh, maybe I'll just finish my "Border World Rangers" project and see what happens. They sure as hell werent cheap either.

I grabbed a trio of the mortar teams and the heavy artillery crews to outfit my two Basilisks.

Might want to consider something like that for a purchase?

At $38 a piece it might worth it for me to pick a few up when they are back in stock.

Im also kind of concerned that'll I never see a DKoK plastic sprue for the Russ.

It can still be a tall WWI design, that's okay. But they just need to I think lengthen the back of the tank. I do love the Malcdors from FW, I would kill to see those in plastic.

It would seem if GW was NOT going to do more DKK plastics, and wanted to protect FW they'd say something to the effect of "DKK exclusively at Forgeworld!" if not outright say "there will never be a DKK plastic line".

The fact they haven't... I'd wait a few more months.

Possibly, but remember when everyone was saying the Traitor Guard models from BSF were indicative of an imminent Traitor Guard line? Well it's been nearly two years with not a peep of any more of those models and no codex. It seems to me that some of the decisions GW makes are often misinterpreted by the community. Just like with the Traitor Guard, I remember when people were singing from the rafters about Rogue Traders getting a codex. That was well over three years ago now, with nothing having been released.

One thing to consider is "how many factions can the game and GW reasonably support?" I would say we're already a little past capacity to be honest.
