Despite the ongoing trend to phase out the DKoK range on Forgeworld, the company took the effort to upload new pictures of painted sets. Even more mysteriously, the pictures list them as Horus Heresy items, despite the DKoK only being formed in M40.
For me this indicates that it is rather unlikely we will see a DKoK range in plastic beyond the Kill Team Squad in the middle to near future, because why would they go through the effort? So far, any to plastic converted kit was discontinued shortly after on Forgeworld. On the other hand the labeling as Horus Heresy is odd. Either a major retcon is bound or they will be sold as generic gas masked Infantry for HH. But then it does list them expicitely as DKoK.

Hmm, that is a little odd, especially the HH branding as you say, though I see they are still under the 40k section and not the HH section of the website.

I love the stuff that FW creates. But trying to figure out their decision-making...well, there lies madness. The HH label could represent something strategic or be something we never hear of again.
I think James Hewitt said his boss at FW would walk through daily and upend everything they were doing. I'm not sure I've ever heard anything more believable about the inner workings at GW than that statement.

So as far as I can see, the following units are in a new green-coat scheme, with the Horus Heresy branding on the promo pics:
-Command Squad
-Engineers
-Death Riders
And the following are in a different brown-coat scheme, but also with Horus Heresy branding:
-Infantry Squad, Advancing
-Heavy Stubber Team
But the other heavy weapons and the At Ease squad are in the old schemes.
This seems a little too deliberate to chalk up to using a wrong template, but the intent is definitely unclear.

Why? They literally copy-pasted whole custodes plastic range, except way uglier, with usual FW bad anatomy, and gak paint scheme (since when bright, polished gold from descriptions equals dirty, starting to oxidize bronze no one touched in decades?) it's not like it's unprecedented on FW part...

FW seems to exist in a really odd spot even now. Heck I recall that when AoS dropped apparently no one in FW knew about it.
But yeah FW has had huge ups and downs - their AoS team was formed then disbanded after only making a few alternate stormcast heads (and since then they've gutted the fantasy range). I know the Specialist games have taken off in a storm; but yeah FW is just impossible to work out from the outside and I think from the inside it even gets random orders from GW central.

Yeah, I figure at some point in the next three years they'll announce on some random Tuesday that they're finally releasing the Atomantic Pavise first previewed, what...5-6 years ago? And then it'll still be a coin flip whether they ACTUALLY release the pavise or some new, out-of-nowhere tank for Solar Auxilia, a range that at that point will have been already killed off.

Krieg was producing regiments before they Krieg'd themselves, it may just be that those regiments were also hazardous environment...
I doubt they will have been called the Death Korps then but who knows?
I for one would be extremely disappointed if they retconned Krieg history to the civil war happening during the heresy, though if GW are looking to make the DKoK their new flagship regiment, it could make some sense that they'd want them to be more established in the law than the best part of 1000 years in game timeline.

They can’t Horus heresy the DKoK. Krieg didn’t have the manufacturing facilities or artificial birthing system nor any combat experience until after the nuclear holocaust on their planet.

Presumably, in a setting with ridiculous technological stasis, most of the gear used by the 'current' DKoK would have been stuff which was used by the Krieg AM/ IG regiments and/or PDF forces, and possibly Imperial Army units dating back to the Heresy. After all, they were always close to the same forge worlds, and in 40k even stuff like keeping the same uniform for 10,000 years wouldn't be the most ridiculous example of hidebound behaviour we've seen.

Honestly the DkoK actually blends even better with the WW1 aesthetics of the Imperial Guard than the Cadians. And with Cadia fallen I could see GW shifting Imperial Marketing toward being the new DkoK designs.
That assumes they aren't going to do multiple themed troopboxed sets - which they have done for things like Warcry.

I would be behind this change. More to do with the when the current rebellion happens. Only 500 years of "proper" Death Korp being around doesn't feel like much in the grand schemes of 40k, even though 500 years is plenty long enough in real world numbers. 10,000 years and still fighting for atonement is very grimdark. But then you run into the problem of stepping on the Tallarn and Vostryan toes of home world devastation and Hersey based shame, respectively. As long as there is more Krieg stuff out there, 6 to 1, half dozen the other.

Since the R&H range got axed, there are technically no models to represent Cults/Militia infantry on FW. I'd wager that if any DKoK stuff is getting moved it's purely so the Cults/Militia tab isn't just the Malcador variants and some artillery pieces.

I noticed in the "Win a Titan" post on Warhammer community they had this text...
Maybe you’ve had your head turned by the Death Korps of Krieg after the release of Kill Team: Octarius, and a whole army of uncompromising Kriegsmen is on your mind? There’s never been a better time to outfit your army with a regiment of augmented Death Riders or a battery of Earthshaker cannons.
If they're pushing the FW DKOK it does make me wonder if the Kill Team set is the only DKOK we'll get in plastic from GW.

No it just means that for once they are "sort of" trying to market FW stuff and haven't forgot about it
Asides even with GWs great work with plastics, resin still beats plastic for fine detail and GW has those resin models on sale right now, whilst any future plastic ones are not yet on sale.
IT might also be that Deathriders and Earthshakers are not coming to plastic - which is sort of surprising for the Deathriders, but not that surprising for the Earthshakers.
