Over my decade of freelance miniature sculpting I have had the pleasure of sculpting several creatures from H P Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos but I have always wanted to sculpt some large, somewhat epic sized creatures! several years ago I doodled some ideas for the ancient god Dagon with the idea to sculpt it one day. The time finally came recently so here it is ready to terrorise your stranded miniature mariners!

Behold, Dagon! Antediluvian fish deity of nightmarish Babylon! Standing at nearly 100mm tall this resin cast tabletop miniature should tower over frail mortal castaways and New England fisher folk alike.

It is amazing to have finally been able to get this miniature ready to send out into the world, I hope others will want to have him clamber from the chthonic abyss and onto your gaming table.

take a look below for the size of this epic figure.

The details are really well done, especially on his face. However, I feel like his proportions are off in that his head is too large for his torso and arms, and his torso and arms are too large for his pelvis and legs. He looks like a Gremlin with a fish head. I’m also confused by his pose. Is he showing me his wares in the sea?

You’re a talented sculptor, and it looks like your project is successful, which is great. Hopefully your next project will speak more to my tastes.

That's a great looking figure, but what happened to his right arm? Is there supposed to be something in his hand? a victim, or a rock?

Any way to change that arm position so it isn't interfering with the right side of the model?

The proportions are correct, and the hands are doing exactly what they should. The mouth-breathers just don't know the weirdness of HPL.

Seems odd to be complaining about the anatomy of fish arms and legs.

The more I look, the more appropriate this is for use with the Rashaari from Carnevale.

Urusei Yatsura, Cerebus the Aardvark, Machiavelli, Plato and Happy Days. So, how was your childhood?

Exactly why I want one. Just wasn't a fan of the hand that grasps without a victim in it.

Ooh, very nice! The only thing I would really change is to make his flippery feet bigger.
