A Festive Message from Mr. James Workshop

Spoiler:
A Festive Message from Mr. James Workshop
Christmas is a time for people to get together, and what better way to do that than with a nice game of Warhammer? Here’s Games Workshop’s entirely non-fictional founder, James Workshop, with his Christmas message of hobby togetherness.

You heard the man – reach out to your friends and come together over Warhammer this Christmas, whether that’s in person or through the magic of the internet. And to give you a helping hand, the kind folks at the Warhammer Studio have come up with some extra-special festive rules for your games.

So if you can meet up over a table, the Warhammer Age of Sigmar studio has created some special mysterious terrain rules. Get ready to fight in the Everwinter Wonderland for a fun twist to the Mortal Realms.

Fans of the 41st Millennium haven’t been left out – we also have this special four-player mission. It originally featured in a previous Core Book, so if you missed out on that book, you missed out on this gem. It’s perfect for anyone looking for multiplayer mayhem – and ideal when several Warhammer-loving members of your family are looking for an alternative to Christmas Day telly!

Of course, it’s not always possible to be with the ones that you want to Warhammer with but don’t let that stop you! Here are a few ideas for how you can still enjoy the holidays by hobbying remotely.

Hang Out and Hobby

Set up a video call and chat while you get on with some hobby. Why not set your group fun little hobby challenges such as all painting the same model at the same time? (Da Red Gobbo is perfect for this.)

Warhammer+ Watch Party

Arrange to (virtually) sit together and catch up with some Warhammer+. The first season of Angels of Death has just finished so there’s no better time to binge the whole thing. Sadly, we don’t yet have a confirmed release date for James Workshop On Ice, but watch this space.

Play Remotely

Aeronautica Imperialis, Blood Bowl, and Warhammer Underworlds, can easily be played remotely. You and your opponent simply need to set up identical boards with a webcam,* and then make the same moves on each board. We also recommend rolling dice on camera – we don’t want you accusing Uncle Tim of cheating!

However you Warhammer this Christmas make sure that you share your experiences on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. James has asked us to wish you all a Merry Christmas from him and everyone else here at Games Workshop.

* You can do this even if you only have a single board with a webcam. You can even play Warhammer 40,000 or Warhammer Age of Sigmar remotely if you have someone willing to be games master for the afternoon.

The video is worth a watch, but being Brightcove I'm not sure how to link it...

Am I supposed to know the person doing the video?

Plastic Aspect Warrior bait.

Now THAT'S how you catch attention.

I'm pretty sure next 40K versus box will be Eldar vs CSM.

tl;dr or why it should be watched? Does it have any info? Or is just a random 'article' in the name for creating a random article, pretending it's funny?

Because this things always drop a single confirmation for a future kit. In this case, mentioning plastic unespicified Aspect Warrior.

James is a low quality meme but better than the rest of their corporate tier joke articles

I think the actor is Steve Conlin, one of their BL readers (might not be him but it's definitely one of the BL guys).

They need to add a Jeremy Craftworld and Richard Hammerfall and make a series of this.

Wouldn't it be more like Jeremy Forgeworld and Richard B. Library?

If he were any more of a Matt Berry rip off, I think they'd be getting letters from the man himself.
