This must be some weird regional thing. Haven't seen it here yet in any case. It will be interesting to see what GW does to address rules availability.

Oh you think GW care about rules availability ? HAHAHA they care not, they'll have nice new seasonal books with super good rules coming soon why worry about the old stinky poo rules ? That would be lame.

Seriously though, that is probably their mentality, out with the old, in with the new, peoples collections be damned. They are here to churn new forces and new sales, not worry of peoples long lasting enjoyment with the army they have

So what does the smart money say for 10th edition?

This summer or next?

I'd say next summer, they need time to milk us a bit more first. We haven't reached maximum power creep and rule splosion levels yet, soon though.

It's insane to me that they put out such high quality, hardcover books just to invalidate them 6 months later. If they're going to be short lifespan books, they don't need to be $60 hardcovers. Make them digital/softcover for $25 and then maybe people will actually buy them and play those campaigns. As it is, I've never seen anyone at either my FLGS or Warhammer store buying one of those books or playing a game with the book out on the table. Each store has the same 2-3 copies of each campaign book on the shelf that they got during the initial release.

It's just insane to me how many of those crusade mission packs they put out, and how much they charge for them.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

It's a shame, really, as the mission books are actually pretty nice to spice up your game, but they're not worth more than 10-15€, let alone the Codex price GW wants for them. They reprint the main rules in these which is just not necessary.
