Came across a link to this site in a facebook ad. Haven't been able to find anything else about it anywhere, not sure if they accidentally posted the link early or if this is an early april fools joke:

Always liked the look and feel of the original both on the tabletop as well as on the OG Xbox. The aircraft designs feel a bit different in that they look more like early 40's inspired to me from the admittedly limited look we get on that page rather than the Crimson Skies mostly mid to late 1930's designs. It's subtle but they feel about five years further along which might me necessary to be the 25% different often quoted for IP/licensing reasons.

I wonder if they'll be also offered as a fully digital download (rules and 3d models). I can't see it going prepainted minis again as the most likely option.

Ah! Crimson Skies! Hopefully it will have actual miniatures. Iron Wind metals still make the old Ral Partha line.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The pre painted miniatures were from the clix game.

This is VERY interesting.

I airways loved the vaguely "Sky Pirates" aesthetic of the old game, and is be willing to bet the new one will have far better miniatures.

Who doesn't want to paint their own band of post-WWII-pirates?

Also worth a look if you're into dieselpunk air combat.

Hope this scales with the original game, although the original planes had some scale issues. Strangely enough the worst example of scale issue was corrected in the clix plastics.

I'm target hoping that they start with a clean slate - other than the basic aesthetics.

I'd actually appreciate slightly bigger scale minis.

The prepaints fit well with my old WW2 Micromachines, which I love. Hopefully the new ones will either be the same or fit in with Dropzone/CAV/Aeronautica Imperialis.
