My latest blog post… something of a customer service review…

Warlord Games far exceeded my expectations in excellent customer service on numerous occasions.

I am curious to hear your experiences.

I went to a demo event for Test of Honour, and contacted Warlord to say I'd also really like to have a demo of Gates Antares.

Their rep brought a box up to my FLGS and stayed up late the night before to get it all painted. What a guy.

We had a great few hours just playing those two games. Big fan of warlord. I just wish I could give them, more time/money!

It is good to hear that my experience was not an isolated incident.

It's many moons ago at this point, but I ordered a Roman army deal from Warlord for Warhammer Historical, to be shipped to my LGS.

The box turned up, I checked it, and found one missing blister pack - no big deal, I dropped them a line to let them know and to ask them to send the missing blister. This was after close of business. I think I got a response the following morning to say they'd send it over.

When I went into my LGS at lunch the following day, a second box had turned up - a second copy of the army deal. Upon inspection, this was also missing blister in this box, but a different one to the one missing from the first box.

Emailed them again to find out what the craic was, and eventually got told to keep the second box - and a day or two later, the missing blister from the first box turned up.

Can't complain about that, now, can you?

That was pretty generous of them!

Haven't had much experience with Warlord service. I have a vague memory of a nice convention conversation, but I don't recall the specifics or if it was a Warlord rep or retailer.

Anywho, I quite like K47 and find their WW2/WWW2 products to be good quality and fairly priced.

Honestly, I was a bit miffed to see the way they quadrupled the price-per-fig when they acquired the WGF Zombie/Survivior/etc lines, but if I need more zombies I can vote with my dollar elsewhere.

I guess that adds up to a mixed bag?

I had a bad experience with them last sprue sale (or maybe two ago now). I got the plastic Domari box which comes with two sprues as my “shipping offset” item, since shipping was ridiculously expensive. It just barely made the purchase “worth it”.

When the package arrived, I found they had sent me a single Domari sprue. I emailed them about it and instead of sending me the second sprue, they told me to remind them net time I place an order and they will throw the sprue in the box. Next time? In ten years I’ve placed two orders. Getting screwed over for shipping and a mispack? What do you mean next time?

They say a company that makes a mistake and then makes it right wins a customer’s loyalty. Warlord made a mistake and then doubled down on the mistake. They lowered my already-low opinion of them.

The "we'll hook you up next time." is a very sketchy dodge, especially for an overseas address. Who does that actually serve? Not only are they saving themselves the cost of shipping the item (that they should be sending no questions asked) to a US address, but they're also putting the customer on the hook for a future order if they want to get the rest of what they paid for.

It sounds nice at first hearing but is actually the exact opposite of above-and-beyond service.

I had some Boromites I bought before overseas shipping went bonkers, and they were missing heads.

Let them know and they sent me not only a whole new set with the heads, but extra heads to cover the first set.

Like I said though, this was in the heady days of actually being able to send small packets across the pond for reasonable prices.

I've been looking for some really specific 2000ad books and bare minimum shipping is at least 20+ US. That stings.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Postage is definitely a big hurdle when it comes to buying from Warlord Games if you live outside the UK.

And the “we‘ll hook you up next time” is definitely not great customer service. Sorry to hear that happened.
