The heads should look smaller than the minis proportions do.

Wearing layers of armor makes the body thicker and stouter, yes?

John French is far from the worst of them, some of his full length books are bad but he's done a couple of decent ones too, though none come to mind I'd have to look them up. I'm not writing this off yet.

Question for anyone who has the v3.0 ruleset -

Is there an explanation in the fluff for why the gun-arms of the Saturnine Terminators appear to have the gun coming directly from the elbow?

Have all Saturnine Terminators lost a forearm so they are able to carry the guns?

The proportions of them show that they are far larger than any marine that might wear them. Depending on how they are actually in the suits, determines whether those arms have limbs in them or are purely robotic.

Regardless, if their proportions are true to the marines around them (and not enlarged for modelling effect), then no marine has an arm long enough to reach past the saturnine's elbow anyway.

There’s a sort of precedent for that in Spyrer Suits.

FUTURE precedent! So, is the reason why there's no Saturnine in 40k that the Spire Houses of Necromunda have all the stock and retro-fitted them into Orrus suits?

All seemingly children of the STC though. Albeit with at least some naughty xeno tech in the Spyrer suits.

It could also be the same principal as the original Dreadnought armour.

All tucked up neat and tidy.

It's a reference to the diagram of Saddam Hussein's hiding place where US troops found him, which has become something of a meme for some reason.

With a little bit of imagination, anything is possible... for the Emperor!! Not my image but it does solve lots of problems and I saw it a while back online.

GW always manage to smatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
They should have made nuggetization a prerequisite of being able to use saturnine.
There is precedent with the Lorica Thallax conversion process.

Thallaxification is rather more extreme than a Common or Garden Nuggeting.

It’s pretty much the bits that go into Haggis, plus your bonce and its contents.

This stuff makes my brain hurt.

Is there a bit of storyline/fluff that says the dudes in the suits are "all there?"

Or could they be brains in jars?

there is not enough to get a conclusive backstory, could be just a brain in a jar (which would at least explain why this kind of armour never took off), could be a Recruit with their ass up in the air or even the full Marine just in pieces so that the hands are were the hands should be but are connected with lots of wires to the head

Who really cares how you fit someone into Saturnine armour? Terminator armour has never made sense. In fact, none of the armours and vehicles in this game world make sense from an ergonomic perspective, and most of them are wildly impractical. It’s like pointing out that sponson weapons are useless, Land Raiders have no ground clearance and you can’t fit 10 Marines into a Rhino. All true, but that’s the aesthetic of this game world. What’s the point in going on and on about it? Especially in the N&R forum.

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Terry Pratchett RIP
