The new Victrix guard kit is a good source of bitz to steal for HH Ultramarines- Suzerein helms and legatine axes especially.

I'm not sure on Cataphractii getting lightning claws back, don't forgot what Tartaros lost until the legacy rules came along. I suspect this may be how they make the armour patterns play differently without it just being that Tartaros can sweep and have a weaker invuln.

There are rumours about a possible Cataphractii CC upgrade kit. If such a kit gets released, it would probably come with those lighting claws as well. Rules for the upgrades would then come in a Journal, as is now the MO for both 30K games

I personally dont get the fuss about the resculpted Cat's being "thin" at the waist. Saw a recoloured photoshop pict of it the other day, where someone had made the model a white scar, and man, it looked gorgeous! First time I saw a Cat and thought to myself "I could actually see myself getting me some of these..". I think the metallic paintjob on the box art isnt doing these sculpts any favours..

They’re better proportioned for sure. The original plastic and indeed resin ones looked “waddly”. Which given they’re described as cumbersome is fine.

But here? They still look cumbersome, but due to the weight rather than chunk.

Not sure I’ve described that right.

I think I get it, in an attempt to reword, the old ones looked to be heavy in a word, a block of metal that waded into things as a walking wall. It didn’t look deadly to me, just inviolate. These new ones have more of a Predators silhouette, they look big, intimidating, but capable of throwing their weight around, and their weight will be heavy due to size.

To further reduce, old = come at me bro I slow and wide, new = I'll catch you and kill you as you bounce off my armour.

I commented that they look a bit slim, but having looked at the photos again I retract that. They look fine. Since lightning claws are in the list entry, it's a fairly safe bet that they will turn up.

Sure, but Catas were supposed to be the former, Tarts have always been the latter.

I expect we’ll see updated Tartaros before too long. Hopefully they may be a bit more dynamic to reflect that.

I'm not so sure it will be in this edition, given that they're almost certain to also go to 6 per box when they're updated, but their unit size was not adjusted in the Libres.

The new Cataphract Terminators remind me of the Dawn of War 3 trailer cinematics, Power Armor. Like someone said "make them more bigger, more primaris!" And they are now super lanky, when they should be the bulkiest of the Terminator patterns bar "Saturnine".

actually the resize has fethed up the scale. Armor mostly grows in width not in height. Height wise they were compared to normal marines now fine, these otoh i rename as the femur breaker 30'000

The torso just looks wrong, the ridge line at nipple height is far too pronounced, coupled with the thin waist just makes it look like a corset or something.
Also the power fists look too small.

I know we do this dance everytime a new LI kit for a non-plastic Heresy kit is shown off. And it’s rarely confirmation of an upcoming plastic kit.

Here, it could just be the existing Resin Kit with the new sponsons. And there’s strong precedent for that being the case during 2nd Ed’s life.

What I’m asking is for people with the resin one to have a look at the other visible details and weigh in.

Isn't most of LI promo art made with 28mm models/renders? We've basically been talking about this since the Solar Baneblade like 2 years ago (which, sadly, still isn't out in 28mm)

And yes in all cases it's the new style stuff, not shots of old FW resin kits.

And we've often heard the fairly reasonable assumption that both scales are sculpted concurrently.

I have no doubt we'll see most of this stuff in28mm before long. Maybe not the Dark Mech spiders.

I have a gut feeling that the more static ones might look much better if you just moved the hip plates upwards by about 1/3 of their length, should produce a "blockier" outline with more visual heft. Might not work on the dynamic poses though.

I don’t think the new models are as narrow as they initially seem. They’re not really that different to the existing models in that regard - the current ones are just stumpier. I would want to put those hip plates higher up regardless.

Rumour from 2 days ago from Valrak that Tartaros Terminators are on there way along with the Warlord Titan plus other Horus Hersey models.

If they become reality going to be a busy year for the Hersey
