KS is live

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/impactminiatures/power-armor-hardsuits-and-27-mecha-minis-stl-and-physical/description

Impact! has been working for 8 years to get the rights and find a good method to produce the 28mm Power Armor from a failed KickStarter (after we found out the sculptor was never paid for the work). We finally have everything lined up correctly. We'll be offering any backers of the failed original project the models at cost.
The models are 52mm tall and the image shows the basic model that will come in a pack of 4 with different arms and legs. The model with the open hatch shows what you can design with the extra accessories pack. You will be able to get the physical models and/or the STLs

also features STLs only for W.H.I.S.P.E.R. mechs (Brandon Keith Fero) and Redline mechs (Saving Throw Studios)

28mm scale Power Armor by Tim Barry coming to KickStarter by Impact Miniatures at the end of September.

Yes these are the mecha suits from the defiance games kickstarter (No Impact! and it's owners were not involved in that company/debacle in any way just in case you're worried)

Hopefully the price is going to be right.... [edit] and it is from Impact!'s post below

Those fit right in with the new Squat aesthetic. Not sure which unit they'd be used for, though

Quite so, I'd forgotten about them. These might be work well as an opposing unit...

I was just about to mention the Wargames Atlantic battle eggs. I’d hope the Impact! Version is distinctive enough, and priced attractively enough, to sell along side the HIPS eggsuits.

The design is very reminiscent of the MaK models.

Is that an inspiration?

In addition to the Power Armor shown yesterday, we'll be offering the 3-D STL files for the W.H.I.S.P.E.R. Mecha including 2 never seen before. Witness the 68mm tall Scorpio and the 59mm Kyazigan. Both of these are heavy mecha with powerful short and long range weapons.

The KickStarter will be starting September 27th and the 3-D STL files for 12 different W.H.I.S.P.E.R. Mech will be an option for you to pledge (in addition to offering actual miniatures for these mecha).

Wow, been awhile on this one, I pledged for that original KS.

Unfortunately, these come too late for me, I ended up getting STLs for other suits similar to this, and I’d be too skeptical to put down on this KS after the unfortunate burn for last time, even though I understand it wasn’t the artist’s fault.

It never ends well

I also hope they get all of the rights and the sculpting settled before the campaign.

@BobtheInquistor - I learned a lot of lessons with the Torn Armor recovery project.

I learned from that and one of the reasons I've taken my time with the Power Armor to make sure the files were good and that I had already made 100% sure I could do the castings and delivery the project on time before I do go KickStarter to fund the money spent making sure everything was okay. I have had discussions on multiple occasions with the sculptor Tim Barry and the rights are very locked down.

I've seen hopes that the prices would be good.

My current plan is to offer a 4 pack of the Basic Power Armor for $25 with different legs, right and left arms to mix and match.

The accessories pack with missile launchers, different heads, bullets & ammo drum will be $8.

If you can show you backed the previous project where your money was taken (just turning your project list public for me to verify quickly) ... the base 4 pack will be $14 and the accessory pack will be $5. I promised Tim Barry that I'd get the models to the previous backers for cost to do our best to offer them something for Defiance screwing them over.

Excellent! One of the items of why it took so long was trying to find a price point that I hoped would work.

Tim Barry (the sculptor) was telling me that the sculpts were intended for resin casting when designed so was working to find a way to have them made affordable based on his design intentions.

The Power Armor is going to be made using the new SioCast tech. This new tech was the final piece of the puzzle for me to get these into production.

Yes I'm sure. These sculpts are from 2013 and the sculptor Tim Barry did not sell them to anyone else. Part of the KickStarter is a cut going to Tim since he was never paid for the models.

It warms my heart to see these guys finally having a good chance at production. I wish impact all the best with them

I really wanted them last time but saw the Defiance debacle coming and skipped that mess. Have bought other, similar hard suits since then, but I am tempted by these

I fully understand the history behind these models so I wanted to show that the work has been done to make sure the Power Armor can be produced and will be delivered with the upcoming KickStarter.

The image shows the Power Armor Hardsuit squad base kit that makes 4 models and then also the optional accessory pack to add many more possibilities.

He is focused more now on writing with his novels in the WHISPER universe on Amazon.

Since he is focused on that ... I worked with him to offer the digital files so all the models he's paid to create so far could get out to his fans.

Been a lot of conversations setting up this project to try and get lost or never produced models to be live.

Thank you for your support.

I had to wait for the tech to get to the point that I could produce these at a price point that I felt was worth it for potential customers.

BIG PROJECT UPDATE! Posted from the KickStarter this morning

Thank you backers! We broke $1,000 yesterday so the TR-700 Mecha Killer has been added to the project as a free STL file for anyone getting the WHISPER STL pack and it will also be included as a free extra miniature with the MECHA GENERAL reward level.

But I have really big news. I have been in discussions with Tim Barry ever since the project launched. When we first reached an royalty agreement for physical manufacturer for the Hardsuits, the main goal was just getting these models back into world and doing our best to get physical models as inexpensive as possible to former backers.

However today we reached an agreement for Impact! to actually purchase the files for the Power Armor Hardsuits and accessories.
So with Tim made whole ... now the STL files can be offered for this KickStarter for personal use only! I definitely had not budgeted needing to purchase the Hardsuits from Tim into the budget so I am adding them to the project as a leap of faith as Stretch Goal #2 at $2000 and calling it already unlocked. At that point ... I would have enough funds to cover the costs of the project now incurred. I have faith we'll reach that ... so please share this project anywhere you can and help us keep going.

Tim has also offered to sculpt the German Mech from the old KickStarter that was offered. It was never finished. The question is ... could you let me know if you'd be interesting in paying to get the physical model or some money to get it as a digital file. That would help me decide if it makes sense to hire Tim to bring that sculpt back to life (as this would definitely be another unplanned expense but willing to do it if the demand would be there).

I’m in at the Defiance Games Backer level. I’m not sure if I should add $6 for a Tundra now or wait for the Defiance Pledge to be confirmed and add the extra at that time.

Do you have an image of the German Walker design?

All verified. So now you have the prices for everything. Feel free to just add on to your pledge for anything extra but stay at that $1 reward level so that when you check out I know you need any offers made to the former Defiance KS backers. Thank you for your support!

This is a link to the image of the German Walker Mech that was offered in the original project.
