I always find it hilarious. There is such a vast mismatch between the center of mass and the center of aerodynamic lift, it would NEED vertical jets under the main body to keep it from tumbling out of control.

From Sarna.net.

Aerodyne DropShips are shaped roughly similar to conventional aircraft, using their aerodynamic hull shape to generate lift within an atmosphere. This makes these DropShips ideally suited for atmospheric operations, at the expense of being more expensive and harder to produce than spheroid ships and with more restrictive size requirements. Many aerodynes also require runways to land and take off, limiting where they can operate. To facilitate atmospheric and deep space travel, most aerodynes are equipped with two sets of exhaust nozzles, one on the bottom and one on the rear. Aerodynes will use their bottom thrusters and transit drive during space operations, then switch over to after thrusters and maneuver drive when in an atmosphere. While taking up additional space, this alleviates the issue of internal orientation by allowing the vessel's nose and rear to remain "forward" and "aft" at all times.

While true, most aerodynes don't fire both the vertical AND main drives at the same time....

That's literally insane. Even with packaging, someone's time to put it in a box and paste a pre-printed label to it, AND shipping, it shouldn't be more than $25.

Plus, those minis fit in an envelope.

I've heard that its "an issue with the webshop" and you're supposed to email them and they'll manually fix the shipping costs for you.

It's been an issue for years, they're not going to fix the shop apparently.

They promised almost a year ago (I think it was last September I got the "we're working on it"), and apparently that wasn't the first time it was promised.

This isn't a new thing, It's another in a long line of promises that they've shown they don't consider a priority.

They don't care, simple as. I only got digital products from their store, but at this point, if I happen across another $20 voucher, I might actually be stumped as to what to get, as I already got all the rulebooks and relevant record sheet publications.

That's functionally the same as "shut the feth up", as they don't seem to actually man that address.

When is the turrets forcepack coming out? I thought they were a mid-summer thing, but they're not appearing for preorder on the stores I shop at.

I haven't been keeping up with buying the post-kickstarter new releases, because I already have more than I'm likely to use. I did want the turrets though, since they are more terrain than roster unit.

I'd assume it's the product seen at the bottom of this pic. Seems like most of the dice are just swag and not something somebody would actually use in a game except as a counter.

Q&A
-It’s been almost a year since Randall was given posters of a certain BT character. Whatever happened to them? He still has them, he will deliver them!
-Mike Stackpole looks bored in the lobby, should we send him up? (He left)
-Any word on MUL 2? Ray might have an update, hopefully for the weekend stream
-What’s the status of the Combat Manual ilClan updates? Another Ray question
-When will the Salvage box redistribution be done? They’ll check with Loren
-Will CGL be at PAX Australia? Randall isn’t sure, it’s a Loren question
-If CGL is at PAX Oz, who’ll be there? Likely Loren and Talon
-Are the Salvage Box additional sculpts to Gothic or just what’s in the box? The Gothic Salvage boxes just have the minis from the Gothic box set, with each Atlas being a separate pull.
-How many times in B. Dave Walters on the panels? He’s got a graphic of his own appearances!
-Status on Resurgent Empires? It’s been built into TTS now, email Randall to join the beta. They’re in no great hurry on that one, expect six months of playtest
-Any more big BattleTech boxes planned? Aces is next, they hoped to have it at Gencon but it didn’t happen. After Aces and Gothic is Rockets and Rayguns, and then maybe AeroTech
-Is Resurgent Empires a bigger or smaller box than Twilight Imperium? Similar size box, complexity about halfway between TI4 and Eclipse.
-ETA for Aces? Hopefully November

The Aces rules introduce a sort of co-op AI Horde mode, so it's not all campaign stuff from what I've seen.
