You are courageous, I find the drop pod model to be atrocious to build and paint. I was planning 5 in a 40k SM list a long time ago but stopped at 3^^

Maybe ambitious or insane and not yet realised my folly...

You don't really have to "build" the drop pods though, just assemble the doors, engine and the bottom plate, if done right, you can assemble and disassemble the pod without using glue (tolerances are that tight).

Resin/hybrid pods though.. yupp, those will probably be a pain..

Finally built the Valdor Tank Hunter that's been sitting in my pile for a veeeeery long time now.
When Solar Aux gets revealed, god do I hope they do the Malcador chassis because I just lost all the skin on my fingers doing this thing.

Oh that stuff I’ve had more or less since it came out.

Also got a Deredeo and Laser Vindicator built in the front room, and a Leviathan, Deredeo, 3 Jetbikes, a Land Raider Proteus and 30 MkIII to get built. And a box of the heat based Heavy Weapons.

I think I’ve also got another 20-40 MkVI farting about unbuilt somewhere.

Not buying anymore until I’ve made serious inroads to this lot.

I’ve honestly no idea. The Dreads alone are tickling 3,000 points.

Maybe I’ll sit down and work it out today.

Hey I’ve only got…erm….7 Contemptors, 2 Leviathan and 2 Deredeo!

I may get more in the future. I mean, Dreads being rock is nice. But I get them because they’re Dreads. As someone who really cut their teeth on 2nd Ed Epic, I’d waited decades for that style of Dreadnought to be real. And now they are. In plastic. I can’t stop myself!

Did a quick count, coz the need to know what over powering.

From that video + what you described Doc, without wargear upgrades you've got at least 7385pts worth of stuff.
And I only counted 83 MkVI on the shelf, so I'm guessing I miscounted by either 2 or 7.

60 in 3x20 Tactical Squads (one Bayonets, one Chain Bayonets)

20 in 2x10 Tactical Support

40 in 4x10 Heavy Support.

And I’ve found 20 more MkVI on sprue.

Now at five a day? That’s less than four weeks work as part of my 365 Day Hobby Streak.

Test model is one of today’s intended activities. Basically see how well the paint scheme I’ve used for Epic translates to 28mm. That’s Mech Std Grey base, Gun Metal dry brush, then Army Painter “Grim Black” speed paint.

If that works? That’s me cracking out the majority of each model in no time at all. From there do a Shoulder Pad Red for flair and to break up the black, metallic detailing, and maybe some other spot colours and eye lenses in the same red/reds.

In fact…gonna spray the test model now, then do the dry brush and speed paint at lunch. That way if it works? I can nip down Chaos Cards after work to get more Grim Blsck.

Built my last 2 rhinos. Nice to finaly be rid of unbuilt minis. Now i got to paint, because currently it looks like i have an iron warriors army with a distinct lack of fantasy and a too short perturabo..

3 at most. Because, sadly we can't squadron em. But we can field more Leman russes (the new tank that just came out) than solar aux...

Also militia got no acces to the dracosan either, despite that one also being replaced by the aurox to a degree..

i do hope they rectify that a bit.

I just read the article and sumbled over this pearl

There are two 10-man Solar Auxilia lasrifle sections, which can be combined into a single larger unit of 20 if you prefer bigger formations, and whose durable void armour makes them surprisingly resilient troopers for regular, unaugmented humans.

Solar aux infantry is literally worse than militia infantry in that regard because everyone and their mother has AP 4 (its the single most common AP value) AND has tight formation...

That smells nearly like wrong advertisement.

Looks like I'll be getting plastic GW vehicles to go with my Wargames Atlantic militia too. Really like the Malcador of course, the the Russ Volkite and Plasma turrets are real bangers too.



Oh for Pete's sake, Militia has regular IG sentinels in the pdf, I hope they gain access to the Solar one but I doubt it. Also can't get the Volkite Russ.

Militia list is on occaision in the "Just why?" department. luckily on the volkite russ side of things not much lost. On the maldacdor and dracosan side of things, the lack of squadrons of the former and no access to the later at all, despite technically being pushed to militia formations before the HH is a bit... stupid. It's the same with the truck being not a dedicated transport either.

It's pretty good, and the circle is perfect

Currently working on a laser vindicator for my fists, its the second demios chassis vehicle I've built and the base plate is such a massive pain to get a tight fit. I feel like I'm cutting / filing loads of to get it to go all the way into the side sections. I thought there was something wrong with the first kit i did, but this one is the same.

Has anyone else had real issues with this?

I’ve found them super snug, but all of mine went together quite nicely?
