I’m thinking it may be Votann.

I say that as they have Plasma Blades, which are sculpted smooth. Power Weapons however have cables and nodules on the blade itself.

Yeah, Votann was my first thought as well. I know we have the jetbike Hernkyn Pioneer, and another rumor engine also has something that comes from that specific set.

My thoughts are Votann rangers/scouts, which would probably be Pioneers on foot.

Two points against this idea:

* The bikes do have an axe in a sheath, but the back of the axe doesn't have the power coupling
* Votann do wear gloves but its usually only the fingers exposed and then some metal plating over the main hand. You can't really tell from the image, but it looks like it's more glovey than typically LoV hands

My first thought was Votann too, but looking at their versions it doesn't really seem to match anything they have too well. Their plasma weapons don't have a big vented square/box on the back linked with a thick cable (but most Imperial weapons do have something like it) and they tend to have an emitter on the blade side that follows the shape of it roughly.

Actually Einhyr Champion has axe with nearly identical shape and same hand grip, I'd say it matches fairly well. Also, Votann power blades love the pointless really exposed U cable going from haft to power generator, see troops box. In any case, no skulls or wings, so it surely isn't Imperial.

It kinda looks lower tech than usual Votann stuff so I wondered if it isn't squat axe but no, they have very rounded gear design and the casing and notches in it matches Votann visual language much closer.

No it doesn't?

This isn't "nearly identical" at all:

No housing around the majority of the blade, vastly different haft shape in the centre compared to all the League axes, and the blade itself is different style to what we've seen from them.

While League plasma axes don't have a big box with a thick cable on the back. Their stuff tend to have relatively small plain cables further down.

I said SHAPE of the axe, not the casing. Ignore decorative bits, look at the blade itself, and tell me it's not the same. Or try to find even remotely as good match in all other factions using power weapons, you won't. Even SW, the other Viking-like faction loving medieval axes, have top part straight, without 'hook' in it. Then there is the grip part you ignored, no other faction in the game grabs the haft in combat the same way (due to Votann proportions).

Also, stop looking at plasma weapons, as it's completely different technology, and compare their metal axes/blades. They are far closer match, if more high tech like I noted. And even U cable bit is seen much more often on Votann weapons, both melee and ranged, than it is on Imperial. If not for the less sophisticated look, I'd say it's 100% certainty League model.

It could also be some heresy-era weirdness, that would explain the axe being a callback to random space adventurer #37 from RT or something of equal obscurity.

I still try to imagine the pose that the miniature is in, and it seems like it's something like left-handedly holding the axe and pointing with it.

No, they're not the same. The Votann blade doesn't have open edges at the back, doesn't have curved parts on the back of the blade and has a more angular/wider sharpened shape. The shape of the axe is not similar, and all the other parts that are more indicative of who it might belong to than the shape of the blade itself are also vastly different from what we've seen on the Votann.

Yeah, Votann weapons have a U cable on them. Their cables are relatively small, plain cables, whereas the cables shown on Imperial Power axes are commonly big, thick ribbed cables like connect from the handle to a vented square thing like that does. Find something that's similar to that on the Votann because I can't find anything close to it.

Nothing about it seems similar to the Votann axes in a way that suggests its theirs, neither the blade or the other parts - for both their metal and plasma axes.

Theres been several Votann rumour engine things lately, so Im assuming quite a few new models coming in.

My guess is it's a random model that'll be for boxing day 3 years from now that's impossible to predict because it'll be based around some tiny piece of lore that nobody has looked at in a decade.

Just as likely as anything else.

But seriously. I just have no clue. It looks so generic yet *purposefully* clean and yet elegant at the same time. My guess is a unit for 30k we haven't seen yet, like something for solar auxilia.

I’m going to suggest, more on hope than reason, that it’s a new generic Inquisitor (and possibly retinue for kill team).

Looks like an impiral power axe. Its just a matter of which system it will be for, 40k, Kill Team, Horus Heresy, or Necromunda.

Seems like it has its own base, so a marker for some kind of ability. Could be Kill Team?

I'm guessing Snikrot. Perhaps a marker that provides a radius of cover.

You can even see the same kind of smoke on Snikrots base
But since the rumour engine shows it from the wrong angle it might still be some kind of marker? But definitely connected to him

But I’m not sure we’ve had a Rumour Engine from something already sneak previewed?
