I got the impression in the past, though I'm not sure how accurate it is, that new edition armies don't feature in the rumor engine. At a guess so as not to spoil the surprise, however much that is worth for a company as leaky as GW.

So I'm a bit doubtful about it being Skaven.

I like the suggestion that it might be related to Chaos Dwarfs. They're overdue.

Do any terminators have slings on their SBs?

If we are trying to point to a new sculpt of an old character, who uses a SB that’s still in finecast? Assuming all the imperial stuff is the same model, this puts a damper on the Cotez talk.

Oh, I know. A normal company would just have a single lieutenant entry and give you wargear options so you can have your lieutenant in terminator armor. But GW is not a normal company, so we have to hope that with 10th ed being the time Terminators are redone, a specific model for a Terminator Lieutenant is released to get the option. So I wouldn't at all be surprised if my guess were actually correct.

The previous plastic Terminator Captain has a sling. Not sure if it's the only one, but the precedent is there.



While Coteaz doesn't have a stormbolter, he has not shortage of henchmen. I believe Acolytes used to have the option, and one would hope that with the Inquisition so starved for releases, we'd get more than just a single named character (if that's what the older rumor engine pictures are, of course).

The one from the rumor engine seems less chonky then most SBs? Like it’s for a human/PA model.

I will wager one whole chest of cursed Aztec gold, that the storm bolter is Yarrick.

The little doodad on the front of the sling looks like a lightning bolt to me. And the Steel Legion minis all have lightning bolt patches on their sleeves.

Who says Yarrick's dead? I don't remember seeing the body anywhere? It could be cyber-yarrick, who is very much alive after having been frozen in stasis by Trazyn the Infinite and whisked through time a few hundred years and then given to Cawl undergo extreme bionic modification and returned to the front lines to hunt down his arch-nemesis once and for all.

Datasheet or option is pretty much irrelevant(though 1 sheet with options limits # of lietnants you could field to max 3). Without model neither exist though but you conveniently forgot that eh?

Guard has moved on to a more serious boring style and there is no place for a guy with absurdly big ork-claw and insane plot armour. He is an outdated comic relief for a 40k long gone.
