I'm not bothered so much the model they finished on, but just how little the article focused on the history of the empire range. Definitely could have gone back through the various editions, at least as far as 5th (not sure GW have the rights to ones much before that)

I guess we were stupid to think that they wouldn't use the final slot on their countdown to spruik something new rather than looking back at their history, or at something that truly shaped their miniature history. *shrugs*

Guess evolution of old empire models shown to the spiritual succor not enough?

They showed in essence old and new version of kit.

At least for me seeing old empire models brought memories

Nah it's my own damned fault. I got it into my head that this big countdown was leading to something, some final reveal that would be a limited event model that celebrated 40 years of Citadel Miniatures and not "Here's what we made last week... I guess?".

I expected far too much of them.

If the rumours are true it would have lead to the announcement of the Old World release on Warhammer day but since Legions Imperialis took that slot and TOW was moved back to next year that won't happen.
Otherwise is would have been a nice transition from the first AoS humans into the human launch faction for TOW. They will still likely reveal a bit more stuff for TOW on Saturday than just a single model like all the other times but it likely won't be as big as if everything went as planned

I would have expected FEC focus but ok...

Do we expect them this year? I don't know if there are any rumors regarding that, but we still get more Dawnbringers and Cities of Sigmar and there isn't much of the year left. I figured Flesheater Courts are more of a later reveal, like on Christmas Day or something.

Nehekhara lives! Sort of!

It's an open secret that FEC are coming. One of their kits has leaked out into the wilds even.

I'd expect we'll see them coming, and I'm expecting an army set with them this year.

I'm always onboard for new AdMech and new GSC as they're so ubiquitously useful for grimdark gaming even outside GW.

Well AdMech and Necrons are next up on the roadmap, so... hopefully they both get new things. Presumably they're showing some of it off saturday.

A FEC focus for '40 years of warhammer' would involve showing off the old metal ghouls, which were far superior to the chunky, post-apocalyptic mutated orks currently filling the line.
They aren't going to do that.

Hopefully new things for AdMech, but for Crons it would be fine at a minimum to have updated Lokhust Destroyers/Lord and some characters (maybe even another ctan) ported to plastic.

Supposedly Necrons are getting three characters redone.

AdMech is supposed to be getting a Sicarian assassin hero.

AdMech could use some more "proper" kits, and Necrons really need their Destroyers redone. Other than that, characters for both sound reasonable - hoping for Trazyn and Orrikan in plastic!

Honestly the things I'm most curious about are Kill-Team. I mean, I don't give a damn about Kill-Team the game - never played it, never will - but it holds the most potential for new terrain.

That's actually where I think KT is going to come into play. The video for the new season we got 5 months ago smacked of AdMech, and we've gotten a hint that there's a "new faction" coming into play for KT.

With the weird constant changes to Skitarii we've been seeing, I think we're finally due for a "veteran" style of unit for AdMech and KT feels like a good spot to introduce that.

Supposedly it's Imotekh, Orrikan the Diviner, and a new multipart Overlord.

I'm not sure Admech need "proper" kits really, they've gained a bigger range in their 10 year or so existence than several other armies combined who launched in the interim. They also have a unit for almost every niche covered.

You are not wrong, but still. Some more variety in the robot department would be nice, and maybe some variants on existing kits (Dunecrawler, hoverboat).

And something unique for Kill Team would also be welcome.

They really don't though. The shuffling they did with combining the two into one has created some rather notable issues. We've seen Skitarii change from "elite" infantry to horde and now to being effectively Guardsmen +1.

There is, at the least, a need for another "Troop" equivalent.

I predict, another boxed set like Ashes of Faith. That will also sell out in about two minutes.

F - is the Fire that rains from the skies.
U - for Uranium Bomb!
N - is for No Survivors...

Another troop that do what exactly though? There's kataphrons for heavier weapons, there's the infiltrators and the priests for melee and or more elite infantry.

They have as many troop options as most armies do.

But Electro-Priests aren't "elite infantry"...?
They are infantry who were in the Elite slot, and intended to be big blobs.
You are welcome to call that nitpicking, but remember at the same time we had weird crap all over the place in Elites.

As of right now, the "elite infantry" role is Sicarian and Pteraxii--both of whom are the same 'frame'. There's room for a more elite version of Skitarii to show up, or a "lesser" version to allow for the two current versions(Vanguard and Rangers) to be showcased as being more elite.

I think they should add another Automata unit to the AdMech, like the 41st Millennium version of the Vorax.

If I could have ONE thing for AdMech, it'd be a box of standard servitors with servo arms and maybe an option for laslocks. Seriously, we need regular plastic servitors that Mahreenz, Guard, and Admech can use.

Personal wishlist?

I'm hoping that the Kill-Team is an Explorator based one, with Tech-Guard as the "base" of everything.

I'm hoping that Servitors are on the way as well. It's daft that we still haven't gotten them. Just hopeful they're not going to be a Newcromunda styled set.

A micro ordinatus as a lord of war would be awesome. Maybe plasticize the terrax drill and treat it as a subterranean drop pod? Normal servitors would be useful but a bit plain. For elite infantry, plastic thallax?
