Were the 2024 models even available at any events in the UK?

With GW failing to appear at UK Games Expo in 2024, I know I didn't get my usual opportunity to pick them up.

They're typically not as far as I know given none of their world championship events are held in their home country.

Didn't they show up at Warhammer World intermittently? They were definitely at the Warhammer World birthday in March.

I kind of feel eBay is just a function of supply and demand. In the olden days (say 10-15 years ago) 40k and others wasn't as popular so you could end up with a sea of minis looking to be sold. This drove down prices.

We still see that with say the unpopular half of starter sets. I grabbed the necron half in ninth for very little. I think if you timed it right there were deals on the Tyranids.

Today if you go on eBay looking for something specific and theres only 3 sellers, unsurprisingly there's not much of a discount to be had. And they may feel someone will show up (and presumably does).

Keep in mind that GW feeds into this as well by only making a very limited amount of popular box sets and army deals, and instead of taking preorder sales they allow people with commercial accounts to buy a large quantity then put them on the market at a high mark up. I am even seeing people with business accounts on ebay doing this a lot more recently. The biggest contributor to the supply and demand issue is GW themselves. Scalpers are just capitalizing on GW's incompetence.

Not 40K news as such, but didn’t think it was worth a thread on its own.

I’ve just had an email from GW with a £10 discount code, for having bought from the website in the last 12 months.

Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, and I think I’ll put it against the second WH+ model.

Flagging it here so folks know to check their Spam inbox, just in case.

Oh, I got one too apparently. Too bad it expired January 2nd. Could've used it on the M2O terminators if I had known GW gives discounts now.

I got that too. It's a mistake, and should expire Feb 2nd. I used it, and it works fine.

Looks like it's already time for the regular release of the new Astra Militarum stuff:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/t3bhbkgg/sunday-preview-the-galaxy-calls-and-krieg-answers/

This seems like a fairly quick turnaround compared to some of the army set releases. I know Dark Angels took a lot longer because we were all waiting for the points for Inner Circle Companions.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2024: 40 | Total models painted in 2025: 21 | Current main painting project: Warhammer 40k Leviathan set

The good ship White Dwarf sails to the enigmatic Knight Worlds for Issue 509, as both the Imperial Knights and Chaos Knights get all-new rules for using their nimble Armigers and War Dogs in games of Combat Patrol. The magazine also comes with all of your favourite stories, miniatures galleries, and battle reports, while the White Dwarf Bunker’s madcap Car Show continues with a gallery of the team’s kitbashed street racers and a free sheet of tarmac printed on card so you can photograph your own creations.*

Honestly, while the Rough Riders are a bit of a weird choice, for the scale that Combat Patrol is meant to be not having basic infantry and instead having heavier assault troops isn't too bad IMO.
But they really should be backed up by something like a Sentinel or maybe Ogryns.

GW revealed a lot over the last big reveal and had a load from before Christmas so I think we are in a bit of a rush/fast paced moment of releases right now.

I can't complain - every single one that gets out the door is a step closer to Soulblight!!

Don't be like that, there was a 3-4 month gap between BA and the next 40k release, which is unusual at best.
