If theyre folding daemons into the cult legions, shouldnt there be more datasheets?

To be fair, there should be, but GW being GW, won’t be.

No mention of the Seeker Chariots there, for instance.

I've quickly gone through the Daemons Index PDF, and this is what it has listed for Slaaneshi Daemons:
- Shalaxi Helbane
- Keeper of Secrets*
- Infernal Enrapturess
- The Masque of Slaanesh
- Syll'Esske
- Contorted Epitome
- Tormentbringer (on Exalted Seeker Chariot)
- Tranceweaver
- Daemonettes*
- Fiends*
- Seekers*
- Hellflayer (chariot)
- Seeker Chariot
- Exalted Seeker Chariot

I've put an * next to what is presumed confirmed on the previous page, and there seems to be a ? on whether Shalaxi Helbane will be present.

Does this many units being left out bode well for a future Daemons 'dex?

It really depends on if GW are going to not only split demons in 40K into 4 subgroups but also divide the model line more so between AoS and 40K. Historically demons were very much fantasy styled but allowed to take everything in 40K; however perhaps GW is going to separate them out further with the majority of the newer sculpts being basically fantasy models and then leaning into giving 40K new demonic variations and so forth.

Now that I saw it, I now noticed what it contains:

Chaos Lord with a whip option
12 Noise marines with Sonic blasters(dunno if they still have blastmasters as an option)
20 Legionaires: either as boltguns or with swords proxying as chainswords.

I know WE is barebones, but what do they have again....

Just fold everything into one big Chaos codex, it would be better than whatever this mangled thing is.

If you'd read the preview from the LVO, you might know.

The Lord has three different options on each arm.

Noise Marines appear to now be 6 model units, and 2/6 can be upgraded to carry a Heavy Blastmaster.

Further units to come.

Due to the overuse of bodies, I think I'll pass on the box set as a whole. Pick up the codex and the pack with the sonic weapons later when they come out. I just fear that there wont be enough unique variety to justify what ever this box is going to cost.

However, I am excited for my EC to get some fresh meat with the other things that have been shown.

See pics of my Orks, Tau, Emperor's Children, Necrons, Space Wolves, and Dark Eldar here:

Reading between the lines, I think loyalist SM players should also be preparing to lose their Predators, which has been rumoured for a while. It'll probably only happen in 11th, but I can't see any logical reason for EC not to get Predators unless GW knows they're phasing them out. Well, I can think of one other reason - GW being GW, but in this case I think it's more likely the former.

This does leave EC looking as though they seriously lack any anti-tank. Noise Marines might be able to fill that role, but other than them there's the lascannons on the Land Raider and...that's it? It doesn't seem as though any of their other unique options are even especially good against tanks/monsters in close combat. Given the current meta is pretty vehicle-heavy, that's a worry. I also really don't understand the lack of Terminator characters (for EC and WE). Yes, the current Terminator Lord/Sorcerer model is awful but it would be so simple to include it in the Codex. It's even weirder when you compare EC and WE to DG and TS. DG especially have an absolute ton of characters. I get that they've been around for longer, but I would have thought characters are among the easier things to flesh out a line with.

Maulerfiends are decent against tanks and the sword-bros are supposedly critical wounds on a 3+ was it? Which would make them oddly good at the role.

Honestly we don't know enough. The blast master might be 36 shots at S18, ap-6 D12 (it won't, but we don't know what it is). So it think it's a bit early for gripes yet.

I’m with you, increasingly glad I was mainly getting these for 30k anyway. The models are great but everything army/rules-wise on the 40k side has been anything but exciting.

Detachment rules preview for EC is up. Looks like the initial rumours were largely accurate so far.

At least it looks like the detachment rules are interesting, as opposed to some previous "everyone gets assault" or "get more attacks" detachments in other armies. Those could still be in the ones they didn't fully preview, of course. The Slaanesh's Chosen rue looks a bit awkward, as you'll want to attack with your Favoured Champion first to make sure they get the benefit of their rule before it's stolen form them. Could lead to some interesting gameplay though, as order of operations becomes a bit more important.

The article being discussed has this to share, which is pretty concrete:

Slaaneshi forces that enlist the aid of daemonic forces whip up a Carnival of Excess, bringing screeching Daemonettes and supercilious Keepers of Secrets into the material world to fight alongside mortal warriors. Look out for a future article about how daemonic allies for the Emperor’s Children work.

The word "allies" makes it less precise oddly. Like there are drukhari "allies" for ynnari in the aeldari book, but that doesn't equate to drukhari getting the squattage... hopefully...

GW haven't confirmed anything officially yet. Quite a few people had been expecting the daemon codex to go away in 10th, and with the various rumours claiming that daemon units would be printed in the upcoming Legion codexes that did seem more likely for a while.

Now it's looking as though daemons will be treated as limited allies to the legions, in a similar way to some recent Eldar / Imperial Agents datasheets.

It's still not clear if this means that there will eventually be a separate Daemon codex, or if the faction will remain consigned to free index rules until the end of 10th.

There's also every chance GW might not say anything at all and just do whatever they are going to do. Which could mean demon players sit there all edition waiting for a codex that never comes.

They are not alone. There are other factions that believe they will be shelved until the very end (see. Imperial Knights)

I'm calling it: Daemons at best will be a free codex like Deathwatch, at worst a special appendix in White Dwarf.

If neither, at least every legion will get a codex before Fallen.

If they are on the way out then I assume they'll announce them as legends just before the release of 11th edition, like they did with Beastmen for the new edition of AOS.

Knights aren't at risk of being squatted as an army imo, daemons are at this juncture.

Not an unfair take tbh, chaos knights into the undivided book or an agents style faction would also be cool.

I'd kinda like to see Cypher be like he was, where he could be used in Imperial and Chaos lists, just not with Dark Angels.

But right now, the Fallen feel like they might be the relegated to the armies if yore, never to return. Especially with the wholesale removal of the Dark Angels identity with the Lion is redeeming the Fallen nonsense.

The grotmas list with Chaos knights and mutant-traitor-cultist-beastmen wretched scum combo is by far my favourite thing to come out of 10th edition. Not because its a great list (as far as I know) just because the concept is really great.
