Half the month has passed by and I haven't even started yet, but I voted Wrecking Ball because I wanted to paint the Gorgers from the new Warcry box so here is my entry.

I should still have enough time to paint them since they are basically one color and a few details.
Btw I forgot and added the first wash on the one that is shamefully looking away. Hope that's not a problem.

Incredible models… can’t wait to see what you do with them! I have some myself and can’t wait to start them!

Hi everyone, my entry this month will be a basilisk tank from ebay, I will be trying to restore her along with a commissar.

Mostly, on my phone.

And with that, I think my Wrecking Ball entry is done:

I may add a 5th model to the mix, though I did the wee terrain piece for this too - but I like the sense of these 2 terrible women transforming into even more monstrous beings and... Coming in like a wrecking ball. Plus, the sheer amount of repair work that I had to do on these bloody models that were wrecks in the first place feels very on-brand.

Which turns into...

And

Becomes

Apocalypse tank is painted with base color, I think I will finish it before the end of the month

Here are some WIP photos of the minotaurs:

This guy is mostly done, but I need to step away for a bit. Looking at these photos, I can see that his horns are too dark, and I need to lighten his hair some. The studded arm bands reminded me of Rob Halford, so I made him blonde, but all the various browns are kind of running together.

I've only done the skin and fur on this guy so far. I may go with black leather for all his belts.

Now showing various models from the previously adandoned projects!

Painting total as of 3429/2024: 56 plus a Deva King statue
Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

I figure I should move away from 40k projects and paint something a little different.

I was going to say nice beaver, then realised it's a Capybara. Bit sad now. Still... nice print.

Slow progress. Month is ticking away; half over. Time to get the paint on the minis people!

As a reminder (in case I forget later in the month) December os the open round, so you can paint whatever you want, within the normal bounds of the comp.

Correct. On my little, old Mars Elegoo. The stl is from Loot Studio.

You will not come to forest and get wrecked by Medium Magic Tree because you have no balls.
Finishing touches left to do.
8th Ed style embedded to seem less solo.

Kurnoth Hunter

They do be some sunny trees
Will Pic a set of solos once the base is complete.

Okay, I know I'm running out of time, but I started (and finished) this guy today. He's kinda wrecking ball-y, I guess?

Spoiler:

If I manage something more on point, disregard this guy for a better entry. I just didn't want to be empty-handed this round

Struggling about in Asmos territory.

One of the three Orks is done, two to go.
Haven't worked on them that much, been extremely busy with work.

I think I'll do their bases first, its going to be a narrow finish I'm afraid.

I'm making progress at a rate of one layer of paint a day. But today is Sunday and it's even sunny. I may actually get two layers in today. My head is spinning just thinking of that breakneck pace!

That's not exactly how I wanted to paint Thor, but it is a way of finishing him. Almost there and still plenty of month left.

Calling myself done with this. (Rather than the paint job on the mini being actually done.) I’m not a big fan of larger minis if I’m honest, and there’s a bunch of bits and pieces I could tidy up but I’m bored of it and it’s fine and I don’t mind the little flaws, it looks good on the tabletop and I’m moving on to painting other things.

Thanks to this challenge it got painted at all and for that I’m very grateful to have you all to paint with. Big thanks and looking forward to seeing the rest of the entries coming in.

Ooh, big and fleshy!
So, replacements came from Tt Combat

Excitingly, they've sent the new female Varcolac sculpt. Now I'm going to have to decide whether to make rope and runes to turn it into a Moon Eater (character werewolf)... as there's SO much time left.

Here is my finished product. I finally decided to make an attempt at NMM with this piece and I tried to make it as fancy and colorful as I could.

We still have 1/3rd of the month left. Stop making the rest of us look bad.

If you think you are done, just a friendly reminder that you can enter up to 5 related models. So go back and paint some more stuff. If you have more the 5, you can pick the best 5 to enter.

Go on, git. Go back to the paintbench and do more.

Fine. Be that way. As long as paint is going down and the fight agains the pile of shame continues, I’ll accept it.

Man, I am losing that fight so hard right now… and by the time I get my hands on those new FEC models… I’ll be losing it on an EPIC scale…

If it’s just FEC, that’s not a loss on an EPIC scale. Get hooked by the new Legions Imperialis? That’s an epic addition to the pile of shame

Edit:
The new ghouls do look nice. I never got into adding them to my Undead army back in the day. Not because they didn’t fit thematically (They were rot free, which was my benchmark) but they were metal and I would have needed a big block of them. With the way things are structured these days, I’ll just stick with my nighthaunt and soulblights.

Looking forward to seeing what you will do with them!

Soul blights are great! I see your point about the Imperialis though…lots of work there for sure

As long as I get a copy of the units I will be starting work on them by January… maybe first in next years lineup for the comp if the theme fits! I do have a lot of plastic stacking up though… my partner has started talking about the need for ‘storage solutions’

SK just needs his base, getting closer. And will have something at least. Aggressors don’t have a lot of motivation behind them, but need to get done.

Keep up the progress all!
