Anyways, the most impressing thing here imo are the flesheater courts. That refresh has knocked it out of the park. Maybee a bit more armor on the knights and crypt guard would've been more thematic for that "dellusion" thingy going on, but i am massivly impressed.

Apart from the Tauros, everything shown was a swing and a miss for me.

I'm especially sad to see the Assault Marine poses, they look much worse than the ones Assault Interecessors have. Guessing this was done on purpose, in order to make larger squads look less repetitive? Only positive will be that you can now kitbash these new leg poses with the tacticals, since many of the poses wont look too out of place even on a bolter dude. I'll orobably want to be revisiting my existing unit sketches when these are released. The only silver lining is the chestpiece, it doesn't look as terrible as I feared.. not great, not terrible

Also, those Rogue Trader book cover art style helmet vents are finally coming in the new scale. I can see myself buying a bunch of these from bitz sellers to sprinkle in with the rest of my beakies

FEC Decapitator with the hood looks IMO better from the two options.

40k stuff was a bit disappointing, I just cant get behind the designs. The strip down terminators have more potential than these covered in details terms. Asmodai is weirdly cartoony.

Flesh courts are on the other hand an army that did nothing for me but these new miniatures are amazing. Even if the big boy has too much going on too.

Necromunda car is errrr boring vehicle.

Votann codex is MILES away now. SO annoying we do need more units asap.

FEC Cardinal is funny, and it looks like it solves a Rumour Engine?

I'm really hyped for the FEC release. The Dawnbringers book part makes me a bit concerned though. It seems like it will be 2 different boxes released - Dawnbringers Box and Army Box. Based on the videos and pictures shown it's not clear what will be in the Dawnbringer box set. I hope it's not a bunch of old sculpts. Would really prefer to get only the new sculpts if possible.

The Kill Team announcement seems a bit weird. Is there no big new box set? Is there only 1 new team coming? Will it be a single standalone team box release? The Night Lords seem fun, personally not a big fan of the faction. Will probably pick up a box or two just for the fancy sculpts. Hopefully this means there will be more upgrades for other traitor legions.

Night Lords - nice bits for Heresy NL players.
Skeleton Dragon - a nightmare to transport. Way too busy. Not sure I like it or hate it.
Jump marines. Honestly, compared to be beautiful MK5 resin ones, these look boring, uninspiring, bland, dull and many other words.
DA termies look better than Asmodai.

I'm glad it's optional, but man it's like some meta rubbish of the kind of "model emerging from the mists" you see on every other wannabe GW influencer video.

And now I caught up!

Flesheater Courts - that is utterly awesome and exactly the models they need! I'm loving how they are really now showing their madness on the model, these aren't just normal ghoul models these are noble knights and soldiers!

Kind of sad there's no revision to the zombie dragon kit, I'm guessing the getting started set is going to sell rather well now for a bit until it runs out of stock because that will likely be going away so you'll have to pay "full price" just for a terrorgast/zombiedragon kit in the future. Though gives me hope that when we see an update to those kits it will be a really awesome update!

Totally jealous that the TombKings are getting their own freaking skeleton dragon before vampires. There's a lot to love in the kit, though I've never been a fan of GW's style of "dragon with a huge throne on top", but it kind of works for the TK!

Necrons are chipping away at their finecast heroes and getting them out in plastic which is great to see GW focusing on that aspect. If they keep going the Necron line will soon be fully modern plastics. Save for the regular Destroyers


Everything else looks really good too - more vehicles for Necro and more Marine stuffs that look really good. Overall a great reveal and FEC steal the date with a well deserved and really well designed update

The more I look at Orikan, the more I dislike the model.

His nose hole just jumps out at you. The old model and artwork lacked it, and I think every other cryptek doesn't have it either. It just looks weird

Very impressed with what's been done to the Flesheater Courts model line, it's a stunning update really and whomever took over the job of sculpting/designing the new kits has done a sterling job.

The Tomb King croc dragon is also a jaw dropper! Along with the Bret foot knights I'm ever hopeful that there are going to be some beautifuly updated kits to be released going forwards. *fingers and toes crossed for more Wolf borne goblins*

From the 40K stuff the Tauros looks really cool, though if I'm being honest I'm looking forward to see what Genestealer and Ork players do with it!

FEC already got their Dawnbringer box, back with the "Harbingers" book.

I wouldn't be shocked if there might have been intended to be a 2P box...but given how WarCry did a box(Hunter and Hunted) plus two stand-alone warbands(Flameseekers and Kruleboyz) at the same time?

Personal thoughts on the review show:
Just the Assault Marines was underwhelming for Horus Heresy. That should have been a Thursday thing, with today being a reveal of the "Mystery Army".

Not a bad reveal

Orikan - looks ok.
Asmodai - Looks ok I guess
Deathwing - well yet anoother group of slightly different terminators to add to the mass - models are nice enough...and I guess it givess DA players a reason to buy them again...

Flesh Eaters - Now here are some great characterful NEW models - great stuff all round.

Underworlds - they are all a bit LOR gobbos for me - but nice models

HH Assault Marines - so they go in 40k and then get a new version in 30k - Ok....so yeah.....

Tauos looks great - shudder to think of the price!

Night Lords - never liked their look but again servicable models

Tomb King on Necrolith Dragon - nice to see a new model - again shudder to think of price and likelhood of damage but looks pretty good.

Yeah it does seem like a major shift in the strategy of how GW will sell new skirmish games. I kind of miss the clarity of "this is X season; there will be Y many releases over the next year; the next release is titled Z".

Maybe they felt it necessary to announce at least one new thing for Kill Team, since scouts were announced back during Space Marine range reveal.

Horus Heresy felt very much like an afterthought. Perhaps they thought anything else would overshadow the LI release that would happen the following day. Maybe it would confuse customers on which Horus Heresy they have to buy this weekend?

Hh is bigger squads which is why both tacticals and jump packs are sold in double sized box vs 40k.

Even back to 2nd and 3rd edition 40k, Tactical marine squads were a box of 10, and an Assault squad was a box of 5. Gw seems to think that a jump pack alone is equivalent to a whole other model.

Rumours that called the Night Lords for KT had them against Mandrakes. It’s not the first time they’ve only shown 1 team from a box first, and the other later (although generally they did mention the box and that they’d show the other side at some point). Just dragging out the reveal I think.

While not the first time, it's definitely in a very small company for them to have shown the entirety of the KT/warband and done this.

We had instances like the CAT for the Naval Breachers where they'd show off a single model from the KT/warband, but I can only think of Hunter and Hunted for this "show half of a KT/warband and not even mention where they're coming".

But they have done it before, and the rumour called Night Lords which were a pretty random guess if that’s what it was. I don’t see any reason to doubt the rest of the rumour when it’s half confirmed.

For the entire warband? It's been once, as far as I know. And that was the Wildercorps, who were previewed as an Age of Sigmar set with mention of WarCry rules in the article they were introduced in.

Reminder: people insisted that the Kruleboyz and Flameseekers were going to be a boxed set too. Preorder preview shows up, and all of a sudden they got real quiet.

It's also super broad. None of the rumors I saw called Night Lords out as an upgrade sprue.

There's been a bit of speculation about stuff for Night Lords for awhile. People actually called out the skin-cloak, specifically, for them.

I don’t see any reason to doubt the rest of the rumour when it’s half confirmed.

The only "doubt" I have is that it's a bigger boxed set. It's not unheard of for them to drop a standalone quickly, seeing as how the Heart of Ghur was followed not long after by the Chaos Legionnaires.

Valrak called the Night Lords out as an upgrade sprue. And also the scouts were revealed as part of the Space Marine update, ahead of their inclusion in a Killteam box. So the precedent isn’t Wildercorps alone.

This is likely just because GW realised that they can double up on KT reveals on preview streams by splitting the teams. They really only have 8 teams to show off per year so revealing both sides at once would result in a lot of waiting in between previews.

Also considering the last KT box isn't out yet, it doesn't make sense to reveal the next one fully for a bit longer. Assuming Scouts vs Scorpions gets released before the holidays then I would expect Mandrakes to be used as an xmas/new year reveal then released around Feb.

So two examples, both of which were revealed more as part of the army books they were coming in?
Wildercorps were revealed on July 24th, Hunter and Hunted was revealed on August 31st.
Scouts were revealed on August 31st at Nova, Salvation was revealed on October 14th.

Salvation's in the Christmas Gift Guide. Unless something's gone horribly awry, we should see it listed before the 16th at least.

I dunno, I'm just having a hard time thinking they'd have two boxes ready to go so quick but couldn't even muster a WarCry preview for this one when they've got a roadmap that noted 4 more warbands coming for that....and we don't even have the season "starter" out for KT.
It's not really wild to think that they have two non-boxed set KTs to come.
