If this is an April fools joke, which would not be a first for Wargames Atlantic, I hope those renders will be used for a female survivor's kit at some point in the future.

The heads alone would be great to use with the female damned and Cannon fodder 2 sets.

It's speculative (just barely) fiction right now, but might count as a historical game by the time its released. Truly this is the best timeline.

Does anybody remember the PC game with the same title were the USA broke into 5 factions, DC was nuked and the EU made an intervention?

Greetings Wargames Atlantic,

We are so excited for the release of Classic Fantasy Battles! can you give us some indication, however, of what variety of troops, warmachines, creatures, heros, monsters, etc. will be manufactured and present in the game? My friends and I are hesitant to purchase these new armies until we know that the game will have enough official Wargames Atlantic models for us to enjoy a truly epic scale, varied experience. Can you comment on this at all this early?

Damn I'm not on FB!!!

I will also join the petition. I felt a bit sad when I saw there were no warmachines nor artillery on the dwarf sprue...

I am fine keeping it at infantry in the first wave of boxes, but separate releases with additional varied units is necessary if the game is to compete with the other rivals on the market. I'm sure they have big plans, the response seems very positive.

You mean Shattered Union, don't you?
Really liked it back then, but tried it a few years ago again and it didn't click anymore...

I played only one campaign with the EU because all of the US factions seemed boring and samey. It was a fun little tactical experience. No Russia, China, or Mexico made it seem very basic though. Nice throwback!

The painted dudes have already been announced before April 1st as generic Civilians/Survivors https://wargamesatlantic.com/blogs/news/work-in-progress

And the renders are obviously Female Survivors

No danger of these not being available to buy

Ugh seeing the political news, I wish WGA could get the pewter molds for Baron's War into the US.

The News and Rumors section is all about surprises. I'd certainly hate it if we got 100 posts saying "I know something you don't know..." - malfred

I don't know what this means? Are you talking about Footsore Miniatures' molds? We have nothing to do with those. They are their own company. If you mean the molds to make plastic they are already in the US...and soon to be in the UK as well.

Maybe Reptilian Overlord meant he'd got board of sculpting space nam so wasnt going to do any more for his digital store (eg field artillery/walkers etc, the stuff that's Astra Militarum, but not specifically Catachan as i think he's pretty much already done equivalents to all of those)

I'm guessing this is what WGA have got coming up since these are on the Reptillian Overlords digital store (https://reptilianoverlords.com/product-category/spacenam/page/2/)

Reptilian Overlords stated back on 23 March on their Discord that the SpaceNam Heavy plastic is on hold so that he can put focus on the patreon work.

I was a little sad to hear this as I think his SpaceNam in plastic were great and I would have happily purchased multiple boxes of plastic Heavies.

I just hope he will eventually get time and inspiration to return to the plastic SpaceNam in the near future.

I know, I just want to pre-order the 2nd edition box from a NA online discount store and no one seems to have it. My go-to is Atomic Empire, which carries an array of wargames Atlantic models, and it is not there.

There is no change to the plan to release the Spacenam heavy weapons. I think a lot of folks misunderstood what he was trying to say and went into panic mode.

Response to Shattered Union is remarkable. The game will have units of 4-12 miniatures with 6-10 units per side. Unique factions - what are called "Murders" in the game will be many and diverse. Some Core sets (Civilians/Survivors, Operators, Agents, Police) will be available to any player to add to or customize their Murder. Andy Hobday is playtesting the rules now. No dates for release yet although the generic sets will be out as part of our Pulp Adventure range over the next few months.

Classic Fantasy Battles is also moving along at a rapid pace in preparation for the launch of the two player game later this year.

Are you serious with that?

I mean, playing insane red hat people sounds hilarious to me, but it might be a little close for comfort for a lot of folks. Especially as it might turn from fiction to reality by the time it's released.

Yes, I was referring to the Footsore molds. As is I'm afraid I would be hit with a huge tariff for the Outremer models if I ordered now since they are in the UK

I don't know if you or Reptilian Overlords would be able to provide some clarity - it's great to see the heavy weapons; will you also be doing a command set, or is that something you can't say anything about yet?

This is incredibly good news (within our niche hobby). When WA had initially said you were bringing production into the US I had thought it was a net benefit but that changed (purely from an ordering for non-yanks perspective, leaving aside anything else) recently. If UK production is going to be set up as well, that'd be great news for those of us in Canada. I don't know if you'd be able to say now whether the plan is to produce EVERYTHING in two places - I would imagine that would get expensive on your business end re: molds quickly.

We do ship to all our Canadian customers from the UK warehouse already - have CAD-specific pricing - and that generally seems to be going well for everyone.

Indeed, and a very good experience it was, too! It's just if the tariff situation intensifies and whatever rules that are deployed includes miniatures manufactured in the USA but not in the UK, it'd personally be helpful for me if WA made stuff in the UK.

EXTREMELY minor element of a much more complicated issue that has far reaching serious consequences, but I do just like the stuff WA makes.

There are people that have been playing the Ukraine-Russia war so I assume there'd be some interest in an ultramodern set in a barely-speculative America

Wait... that wasn't an April Fools gag?

Crikey. That's certainly a choice.
