I've not got 50 minutes to spare for a video right now. Did they share any specifics about the Traveler License?

I'm not a huge fan of traveler, but I really like the Zhodani style. I have a couple dozen of the Denizen "Ventauran" figures which are very clearly "not-Zhodani". I like them quite a bit and they've been part of my OpFor in my convention Mech Attack games for over a decade now. I imagine the size would be different ( Denizen are 26mm'ish) but plastic Zhodani would be quite cool.

Different Traveller setting I'm afraid ^^. The zhodani are from the original Traveller setting, usually called the third imperium setting, while Traveller 2300AD is an expansion of the Twilight 2000 setting 300 hundred years in the future. Just to manage your expectations...

I wonder if they can pass for 28mm Landsknecht Halflings?

That would actually be pretty useful.

If WA are working with Mongoose Publishing on GDW licences like 2300AD, they could do Twilight: 2000 and have overlapping figures for Cold War Gone Hot/Twilight: 2000.

T:2000 license is currently in the hands of Free League, not Mongoose, though.

Mongoose picked up ownership of Twilight: 2000 as the same time as they picked up 2300AD and are allowing them to continue publishing it for the period of the licence they had. Whether the licence FL has excludes Mongoose from publishing miniatures or hex & counter wargames, we will wait and see I guess.

Ah, good to know. Then it would certainly be feasible.

OTOH, I feel like you wouldn't really need to have any kind of license to produce T.2000 compatible miniatures, being as they are mostly "modern" miniatures.

Back in the day, we used 1/72 scale figures and vehicles. You'd pick up a load of each for a song and a dance from the local model store.

Grenadier miniatures picked up the line for an HO scale range, however, at the time is was short lived, based on the timing. thier figures ... had a lot to be desired.

https://www.miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=Twilight_-_2000#Twilight_-_2000

At the time, the 25mm figures were the wild west, so there was a great bunch from the assorted mom and pop companies, and the ranges were as varied as the scale.

3 games of T:2000 I played, one the characters were 1/35 scale model figures , a second we used the 1/72 scale figures, which ended up taking and being the group favorite, and we ended up using for ongoing, and a third game was just to use some modern 1/32 scale plastic army men, just for firefights.

These days, with a 3d printer, and the different companies, you have to pay attention to use 80's centric figures, such as those from Flames of War, Team Yankee, or using the 3d printed Soviets, Europeans, and troops from the various countries.

For the game itself- Free League is one of the best companies that I've seen to take up the flag. Mongoose- not so much. Free League's game system is streamlined and is very tight. I've played Walking Derad, and Alien a couple of times. Great system to push your RP buttons with, and shakes up the status quo of "You meet in a Tavern..."

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I see WGA are re-releasing the 'Afghan Warriors'. Does anyone know if this now includes the modern weapons (eg AK-47, RPG etc..) that was previously only available as an STL?

I'm probably losing my mind, but was there ever mention of a plastic camel sprue to make desert calvary?

I thought I remembered some company, specifically Wargames Atlantic, announcing it a while back.

WGA have camels in their digital range, and RGD Gaming had been working on some siocast camels a while back, but I don't recall any in hard plastic.

It's a bit of an odd gap that no one makes plastic camels, but I must have been remembering the unreleased RDG ones. Thanks!

Yeah, then your options are limited. I can think of a few good options for camels, but they're all metal.

I gravitate toward whatever's cheaper but many cases I'd actually prefer metal mounts. No assembly and usually just one mold line to attend to.

another Damned update

https://gamefound.com/en/projects/mwg--wargames-atlantic/the-damned/updates/81

WGA are now planning to split production between their US operation and an all new UK based site (to minimise the effects of tariffs, boycots and other business disruptions now and in the future)

Hudson says 'I suspect the first US pledges will start shipping out in July with the hope being that by the end of the month we're all wrapped up. The Rest of World will be a few weeks behind that.'

I'm glad we're finally getting a ballpark on fulfillment.

My initial thought was that shipping the molds must be an expense (and risk of loss/damage), but I guess given the cost of injection molds it's still cheaper than just making a second set?

For a single mould it probably would make more sense to make a duplicate but with all the Damned kits and the 14 legacy moulds there would likely be around 30 to make

which is pretty much a full years production

although i wouldn't be surprised if some of the most popular kits end up with sets of moulds in both locations

Hi guys

Max here from the Digital Team.

We've had some changes on the Atlantic Digital Tribe, which you can view here:

https://www.myminifactory.com/tribes/WargamesAtlantic/posts/The_Tribes_They_Are_A_Changin-68618

We also have a new $1 pledge level available that gets you:

1 set chosen by the community via a poll from the monthly releases (more on this soon)

A welcome pack

25% off of the catalog of Atlantic Digital kits.

If you've thought about dipping a toe into the Atlantic Digital tribes, now you have an extremely inexpensive way to do so.

That's all I have. I hope you all have a lovely day, and back to your regularly schedules plastics news!

This is fascinating.

It hadn't occurred to me that US companies would offshore production due to the trade war, but it makes perfect sense.

Ironic isn't it?

And to be honest we should have made this move a long time ago and saved on US to UK freight. We're estimating we'll save about $500K next year on freight alone even with the added expense of moving molds back and forth. The challenge now will be to make good projections so that when the mold is on one side or the other we run enough production to cover a good chunk of time. That said it's only about $500 to send one one way so it's not going to break the bank. It just adds a little bit of complexity to the production schedule - which we'll address by extending the time between mold completion and pre-order to a month or two.

This move though will give us the flexibility to be nimble in the face of ongoing geopolitics and US domestic politics. Hoping for the best, but always prepared!

It probably won't be that noticeable to the outside world but we've slowed our roll the last few weeks as we've made this move - production is running now in the UK so we'll soon be pumping out a lot of products again on the regular.

We are incredibly excited to share the box arts for the first three plastic kits of the USA line for Marcher: Empires at War tabletop war game.
These are the box arts for the USA X19A2 Badger Hardsuits, the US Infantry, and the US Veterans and Command.

Seeing these fully ready to go is making everything feel real. And we know the fans that supported us on our Kickstarter last August are biting at the bit to get their hands on these kits at last!
More updates to come soon!

Those hardsuits look great. 4 to a box. Wonder how big they are. They may have to go on my list.

Baron's War 2E boxed set arrived this weekend. All the new stuff looks great, but WGA really needs to start putting a protective sheet or liner between the sprues and paper goods in their boxed sets. Every single box I've gotten has had damage to the rulebook from rattling around in the box.

Looks amazing, the vets box gives me real IG vibes with the long coats and peaked caps.

I'm also wondering how big the hardsuits will be and just as importantly how many weapon options are included.
