Same!

It has to be said, however, that while I'm very happy with what I got at kickstarter prices, I would say that at least the heavy weapons team is not fit for retail. Besides at least one gun being physically impossible to assemble (doesn't fit through the gun shield, and doesn't have a hole for the peg on its power cable) - and one other can barely be squeezed through if you scrape the rivets a bit - and most of the gun shield pegs being much too tight and needing to be cut off entirely, the kit also has one single trigger pulling arm on the crew sprue, and no other handle/trigger parts at all, and no other arms that directly interact with the guns. So most of your guns have no triggers, and no crew touching them. Looots of crew arms in incomprehensible nonsense poses tho.

There are a multitude of arms as you say but with no build instructions, our individual views may not meet the intentions of the designers. I used what looks like the crank arms for the first sets I built but that leaves the arms too long for the gunner to fit the stool. I also used the wrong legs and had the single leg forward rather than facing backwards.

By making the crew for the heavy weapons and the ordnance on the same frame, it is a little Jack Of All Trades.

For the energy weapon/ lascannon, I've cut off the small connecting strut on the bottom of the gun shield opening because, yes, the weapon doesn't fit through.

If that is the designer's intention, some details even if it's only an online pdf should be provided. It's not Orland the Technicoloured's job to inform us as useful as his posts have been.

So I found the same weapons in an old Atlantic Digital kit, from which we can glean the intended poses. No triggers here either. Apparently the guns are operated by making jazz hands at them.

Useful if you need more tripods or more copies of a particular gun tho.

Recycling assets does make this kit feel a little phoned in, in contrast to the excellent Mauler.

You mean you don't use the Force?

Based on the original designs, I didn't opt for the Mauler. Shame!

There are still more hits than misses for me though

The crew appears to be mindlinked to the weapon, and required to make a gesture to fire.

The "no instructions" thing is strange. Will the retail versions have them? Do other WGA kits normally have instructions?

None of my WGA boxes had instructions. It made the Traitor's Toll guards a headache, as the arms are different scales (slender female, medium male, & big male) and they were hard to match them up at first. There are kits with numbers on the sprue, but the otherwise amazing Traitor's Toll kits are not among them.

There is a free assembly download for GoTT at Grey For Now Games, but it does not tell you what arms are supposed to pair.

https://greyfornow.com/collections/tt-free-downloads

With the Northstar Stargrave kits, the arms for carbines or other long arms pair numerically, so arms 1 and 2 are for that gun, 3 and 4 are for the other gun. While they do not say that in the kit, they mention that on their website. WGA should follow suit for more complex kits.

On the one hand nothing I see there would be hard to cut and reposition to better make it look like the weapon is being operated. Give the low price, it's not something that would deter me if I purchased that kit.

On the other hand, for the wider audience, it's not great for a kit to require modding right out of the box. Especially when the classic GW set-of-arms-holding-trigger-handles is such an easy part to put on a sprue and one that could work across weapons.

Does make me more glad that I didn't order any Heavy weapons, but from what I hear, the artillery aren't exactly easy to assemble and I ordered a few of them.

Yes, they're lizardy/demony doggo things, with handlers who have big long shock lances.

The lack of assembly instructions is really baffling, they should have nice PDFs or whatever on their website very easy to find.

Slicing up and posing plastic kits to make them work makes me very happy, but then again I was playing 40k guard back in 5th edition so it's very much a nostalgic enterprise.

is that soldier done entirely with the Damned kit, or does it have some kitbash involved? because if it's stock parts i'm rather tempted to grab a box of the Damned for use in scifi-ing up Forbidden Psalm: The Last War. (especially now that the boxed set for said game is OOP)

I recently noticed something about the WGA webpage. The "Release Schedule" page was removed. Did something happen?

Hm. The last update was on the 27th of last month I think, and it was up last I checked a few days ago. Maybe it's being reformatted? Or they're just dropping it, like they did preorders. It certainly hasn't been reflecting their actual release order for a while now. Many things on it have been stuck in limbo for ages (and some were just quietly cancelled) while unannounced sets appear in retail almost overnight.

I personally am looking forward to the New Kingdom Egyptians a lot, they had a "coming soon" written on them. I've ben waiting for them since 2022, and sometimes I was worried they got cancelled, before being annonunced as officially getting a release in 2025, and getting updated up until now. Im gonna keep my fingers crossed that they'll get released this year; from what I saw they're practically ready to be shipped out.

Got it in one! I just wish I had some heroic medieval heads to use, as they're supposed to be a feudal guard regiment or somesuch. As it is I'm using random heads from WA bulldogs, not-germans and prisoner sets. When the star lords pressgang you from the streets of a steam-age city, you're given two weeks training with smokeless powder or light-guns to be fed into the front lines and you're happy for whatever dented tenth-hand armour you've been given!

I have a theory about why there weren't any "real" updates since quite a long time from WGA; no new models, etc. and why the Release Schedule page was removed. Maybe they want to be done with The Damned deliveries before releasing anything new?

From what I've seen from the Gamefound comments, they've apparently got "less than 40 pledges to fullfill", and there are people from all over the world, even places such as Indonesia, saying that they are receiving their pledges. So maybe WGA just wants to be done with this, before releasing anything new? And once they actually fullfill the pledges, everything will return to normal, and we'll get all the promised ready-to-be-released "Coming Soon" sets, such as the Egyptians, and the Release Schedule page will return?

That's my theory at least. Just keep in mind that I am not subscribed to the E-Mail newsletter (I subscribed to it actually, but it didn't work sadly and I didn't receive any news E-Mails) and im not on the official WGA Facebook Group, as Facebook for some reason won't let me make an account, so maybe I might be missing something.

What do you think?

I think they released about 6 new sets during the Damned shipping phase, so no.

What I think is that tariffs, shipping tools back and forth, and other behind the scenes chaos have forced them into a very "it's done what it's done" business mode, so they just don't want to announce things more than a few weeks out anymore.

They've been releasing sets, it's just that this thread has turned into The Damned: Hobby Progress instead of WGA news, drowns out all the actual releases

Recently the 3 Wierd War II Marcher sets came out, the female WW2 Frensh Resistance fighter set, and a Patrick Harper character box for the Sharpes Rifles series

Phew, a new set that was in the release schedule got released - for a while I had this irrational worry that WGA cancelled all of the kits that were planned for release, but I was thankfully proven wrong. I know im gonna have fun with that Foot Command set, those mitre heads will be perfect for making cleric-type personalities for my fantasy games.

I have a question however, did the friday email contain any list of upcoming sets, by chance? I am asking because despite me being subscribed to the newsletter email since several months, I am not receiving them - I don't know why, but I haven't received one of those newsletter emails on my e-mail once, and I'd love to hear if it contained any information about upcoming releases!

And the Egyptians, im so excited, i've waited so long for them, since 2022 even. And the mounted command will be good for personalities for my wargame too, and of course The Damned; ben waiting to get my hands on them too. Gonna propably buy myself two Maulers, one for an army of space bandits, and other for another more "normal" sci-fi army, with the idea being that the "Damned" Maulers are looted from the stock of the normal army.

It's gonna be so awesome.

Oh yes, Warring States too, they're gonna have the chariot and it'll be really cool. The warriors will also be useful as additional soldiers for my homebrew rank-and-file fantasy game.
