While Darkwater has been the focus a few more rumours have emerged

Skaven New Models

Crixxit of Clan Nictus
Night Runner
Gutter Runner

Pestilens planned for future release

Dwarves - at least 9 new kits for the new book.

More Skaven? I'm a touch surprised by that. Pestilens i guess i shouldn't be, as they've been kind of shunted to the side.

I wonder if the new guy in Darkwater is a preview of the new style?

Honestly I'd say those additions to Skaven would be well worth it; replaces some really old plastic models in the line. If they can do new plague priests then the core of basically the whole army is going to be nice and modern plastic/

It's hard to justify any additoins mid-season to stormcast if they are going to be in every single starter set. Getting a starter set level of new models every 3 years is already an insane amount for a single army with no expanded subfaction system like Space Marines have.

Plus don't forget they often get event/storebirthday/new book character models drip fed out as well.

For those not on TGA, this is from user Boole who has been right about everything (i think?) going back to the Rumor Dump on page 100.

Good. It means they're not being spammed at us like Space Marines.

I appreciate how easy these two are to do.

Sorry, didnt pay attention to all chaos dwarf stuff.
Are those evil canisters in the article part of a kit? Looks like they are 3D printed, but GW put them om the front of the army set as well.

They're not part of any kit so far. Unless they're some sort of future release.

Just to add a little credence to the new blight kings rumour, i've just noticed the current kit is marked as sold out online rather than temp out of stock.

RIP. We're going to go from one of the most versatile GW kits to a buncha monobuild dudes, aren't we?

I would not understand new blight kings, because they're still quite new and pretty enough.

As an aside, ever since their release back at the end of WHFB, I felt that the Blightkings were meant to be a dual unit box. Except for the unit champion, there is a build for a shielded version and a build for dual hand weapons, and a couple builds where a Blightking could take a 2 handed weapon.

It always seemed silly and needlessly limiting to not make them a dual box like Wrathmongers/Skullreapers(also released at end of WHFB). Could have 1 build be a hammer(2 weapons), with the second build(shields) being the anvil, with an option of 1 out of 5 gets a special heavy weapon.

With that said, I did build and paint about 40 PBK’s because I wasn’t limited in how I built them. Each one was unique because I made extensive use of my Chaos Warriors bitbox.

In all my years of selling off armies, I miss that massive MoN army the most. Mainly because of all the work I put into the PBK.

All time classic kit and it’d be rough to see it go, if thats happening.

Hopefully fully AoS skaven means that the army can be relaunched for TOW using the old plastics, since the separation of the two product lines is probably the real reason why lizardmen, skaven and vampire counts didn't get included in the initial wave of releases, too many WHFB kits still in the AoS line.

I think you have to accept at this point legacy armies are not returning. Which is precisely why Cathay and such are making an appearance.

Agreed, plus lets face it if GW brings back a legacy army with old models for Skaven you can bet most people are going to buy the significantly better AoS models to use instead.

Furthermore each old-model legacy army GW puts into Old World means another almost full or half full army that needs resculpts if gW wants to see Old World sales continue after the big nostalgia bubble bursts. Bretonnia fans are really going to want new knight models for the core of their army now that they've seen GW do amazing new ones and Cathay is rocking a whole new army of amazing sculpts.

Right now the only army that isn't in Old World that I could see return is Dark Elves and that's purely because the bulk of the army has languished in AoS for 10 years without GW doing anything with it; save for one campaign book where you got to put the army back together.

Skaven are still using models released during WHFB. This includes (but may not be limited to) the Warp-Lightning Cannon, the Screaming Bell, and Thanqoul.

Thanquol would never transfer to TOW, since the character hasn't been born at the setting's current time period.

What if it turns out TOW is an alternative timeline based on Thanquol going back in time to thwart his enemies, and in consequense undo skavens greatest triumph and ascension that was "the end times"

To be fair, “mad warpstone experiment rips hole in time/space, hijinx ensue” is not outside the realm of skaven technology.

Thanquol goes back in time to prevent the End Times, but no one listens to his crazy ramblings. Just to be sure, Sigmar sends a relentless Stormcast after the grey seer to terminate him.
