Yeah, I see them in various shapes but not in the same configuration as this. All of the 2x10 rectangles are anything but white.

I bought one of the hexagon shaped ones a few months ago alongside one of the Citadel skull shaped ones.

searching by that term I don't get a single one in white from Amazone, or ebay but that might be a regional thing as "silicone palette" finds the white ones for painting

and here the price range is ~10 for the small ones (4-6 slots) and ~25-30 for the larger ones
so if the AP one costs around 25 it would be the normal price of those

The larger one I bought was $7... I cannot expect the AP one to be anything less than $25.

A six pack of the smaller ones with 10 slots is around $10 but in green, red, blue, etc. Great for fidget toys but less good for wargaming paints.

When fidget poppers were the hot new painting accessory to get, I just could not find any in plain white. And they were all small wells, too. The AP version appears to have larger wells that makes it more useful for paint.

I have no use for a silicone palette or speedpaint markers, but those super cheap acrylic markers in the Ninjon video Ghaz linked are an absolute goldmine! Been using them for finishing details and spot highlights on my High Elves for a tournament this weekend. Way easier for painting the runes and filigree than with a brush, and exactly what I thought I was getting with the far more expensive AK Interactive Play markers. The cheapos are more like the AK Interactive Real Color markers, but even then the cheapo white marker has significantly better coverage than the Real Color white marker and the gold has finer and shinier metallic flakes than Retributor Armor. I was fine paying $13 for the set of 30, and there's a very similar set with different shades for half that price (edit** I originally said they looked like they were the same markers with different branding, but now that I have both sets side by side I see about half the colors are unique to each set, there's about 45 colors between both sets)

$13 Set from the Ninjon video
$7 El Cheapos on Amazon

The issue with the most fidget popper for painting is too small if you ask me.

Can you change the thread title to be a general Army Painter thread?

AP Warpaints 70% off. You can get them for $1 for some of the sets!
Free shipping to USA at $70.

I'm guessing that they're dropping their Warpaints line for their newer Fanatics line.
Personally, I think Warpaints is fine for advanced tabletop.

Zombicide paint set at $21 is a better paint range than the starter. Add washes.

I just got the Mega paint set, washes, metallics, and skin tones for $100. No crowdfunding for awhile, I guess!

The wells on that thing are roughly the size of a nickel. Too small IMO.

Depending on how good Fanatics is, I may as well be forced to use Reaper paints from now on....

Thus ends the era of terrible paints 20 cents cheaper than industry leaders, lol.

Yeah, warpaints were 50% snot, 50% chalk that would separate within seconds after vigorous shaking.

Good riddance.

The new fanatic range seems pretty decent from the samples I have.

Already on preorder - release date is 21 February at least that's what my receipt says.

https://thearmypainter.com/en-ie/pages/masterclass

Hopefully Thicketgrove is similar to Death Guard Green something similar with better coverage

Ordered both as I really liked the first sets and have since got a few more of the individual paints.

I wasn't even considering the Warm pallette set until you said Death Guard. Guess I will be getting everything

Was browsing Wayland Games and they've got an 8th Army and Soviet paint set for pre-order. Doesn't appear to have been announced officially yet.

Spoiler:

The 20 paints appears to be a typo, particularly since it's half the price of the Soviet one.

After being so utterly disappointed they got rid of my favorite brush, the regiment, then replacing it with a horrid fake sable brush, im hoping these are good.

Yes, and Stahly has already reviewed them...

I'm in love with the cold set.

The brighter colours are definitely thicker than a 90's McDonalds milkshake, but they've thinned down very well with APs own thinners (airbrush and Warpaint Stabiliser) for me.

I think AK 3rd Gen are still nicer to work with, but there's some excellent colours in both sets I'll be reaching for on the regular.

I have long given up on sticking to one brand for anything, i have several brands i enjoy.

Just got the Vol 3 & 4 delivered to me. Indeed, the paint on series 3 in my batch seems hella thicc, I can barely hear the steel balls moving inside the pots when shaked! Might have to give these a spin with my battery powered paint stirrer, just to see if they loosen up a bit. If not, I'll add some Warpaints thinning agent.

That light green in Vol 4 looks quite good for Oldhammer style Ork skin Also, I think the orange from set 4 and the purplish red wash will synergize great with Fiery Vermillion from the earlier sets, basecoat/highlight/wash for my IXth perhaps now locked in? Need to make new paint tests..

As to the topic of paint brands, a true connosseur will choose a paint based on its properties, not brand. Mixing paints from several brands, this is the way. If one brand's ochre has better consistency and coverage than anothers, go with it. This is a big deal, especially with pinks, whites and yellows

Coming back to Stahly's review of the 3&4, I do not agree with his sentiment that "This is not Grimdark". Wholistic thinking is needed here, use brighter/punchier colour to accent and emphasize the dark. "Everything dark, all the time" just contracts the color value scale till its all 50 shades of mud. Just needs restraint and good judgement

They have by the way said there’s going to be a countertop rack of individual Blanche paints available for retailers, it’s even said to have paints that aren’t yet available in the four sets.

Yeah, i got the feeling there's going to be at least two more volumes coming down the line.. but just me speculating here, I've no evidence besides what has been hinted at in the videos

Not sure how I'd feel about further volumes tbh. I feel like the 40 paints we got by now are already plenty for a "themed" series. I'd be much more interested in some sort of Blanchitsu themed book instead, where they could have some articles and ideas/inspiration how to utilize the existing 40 tone range

Tbh, the series 3/4 paints feel like a stretch as a Blanche palette. I know these are colors hes used in his work, but theyre like... the random colors that pop up in random spots in random works.

I've narrowed down the thickest of the paints from vols 3 & 4. On my sets, the colours "Iceborn", "Skyshard" and "Bramble Grove" are by far the thickest ones. They are all from Volume 3. I cant even hear the shaking balls moving inside the bottles when shaked.. These will def need lot of thinning!

As for "random spots in random works" - like the colour "Frostveil"? It's practically the second most used colour on the 2nd edition 40K starter box cover art piece (ok, arguably I would never call that piece "Grimdark", but it is a Blanche piece)
