How do!
Question is in the title. Over the years, lots of TV shows have come and gone. Some weren’t around long enough being cancelled early on. Some ran for a long old time, but might still have legs. Some might have been campy nonsense, but might stand up to a proper reimagining, such as Battlestar Galactica. Some might well bear a latter day sequel, like Star Trek (not you, Discovery).
But which existing property would you like to see return, or be rebooted, or reimagined. Whilst my examples will be sci-fi, any genre is fair game for this thread.
Space, Above and Beyond
A lesser known classic in my eyes, which only got the one series, and ended on a cast killing cliff hanger. I’d absolutely love to see this return to our screens. And it could honestly be a latter day sequel, or an outright reboot. With Good Enough For TV CGI being less of a cash devourer, you just need similarly atmospheric and (at least for its time!) mature scripts to go with it.

I have fond memories of Space, Above and Beyond. I watched some episodes back when it first ran and also binged it many years later. I can't remember if it was objectively good or not, might need to watch it again.
One show I'm in two minds about but will mention anyway: Firefly
I'm sure most geeks know the unfortunate history of this show. There are rumours it's making a comeback, I don't know how accurate those rumours are though. I'm in two minds of whether it should. A reboot could be great but a lot of the appeal of the original show was the chemistry between the cast, the chances of capturing this again are slim. As for a continuation rather than a reboot, even if most of the original cast sign up to it I'm doubtful whether they could have the same energy as the first time around.

I would have liked to see J. Michael Straczynski's attempted reboot of Babylon 5 and I would also like to see a reboot and continuation of Crusade.

I want HBO's Rome back to finish the planned 5 seasons that were supposedly written, as well as a of HBO's Deadwood to explore what happened between the final season and the movie. The Deadwood movie was good and a nice sendoff to the series, but the series itself was never given enough life.
EXO-Squad, to show the war between the new alien race and the alliance between the humans and Neo-sapiens to defeat the aliens.
Also, The Expanse. Keep going with the story!

Air wolf or something similar could be cool.
I’d argue there’s lazy nostalgia, and good nostalgia.
BSG was good nostalgia. It took the original premise, and made it as realistic as possible whilst still being sci-fi. So whilst it wore its origins on its sleeve, we got something actually pretty original.
The Frasier reboot/latter day sequel was merely average. I mean, as a sitcom there was nothing fundamentally wrong with it. It gave some chuckles at the very least. But as a follow up? It entirely lacked the cast dynamic, let alone the instant chemistry.

On the one hand, I'd love to see a continuation of Firefly, to explore what (what's left) of the crew is up to 20 years on... Although a lot of the future of the story has been fairly well fleshed out in the graphic novels by this point.
I'm less interested in a reboot. While I'm not against reboots as a concept, I'd really prefer that studios start exploring the idea of remaking things that were not great originally but had good concepts, rather than remaking things that were already good. Shannara would be a good candidate for that. Terra Nova. Battle of the Planets.
I would also like a rule whereby any show with an ongoing storyline should be given some sort of resolution when it is cancelled, rather than just stopping midway through a story and that's it.
Would be nice to see more of Altered Carbon, although preferably leaning more into the whole body-swapping concept and making more effort to have the various incarnations of the main character actually act like the same character...
Could Mr Neeson have a decent stab at an updated Police Squad? I haven’t seen the new Naked Gun, but feedback on Dakka at least is positive.
Could something like Allo Allo ever be re-made? I am in two minds as to whether to suggest it to my son. He is older than I was when I first started watching it, but that might actually be worse…
Due South was a lovely cuddly show. Nice cast chemistry, stories where the world is rarely hanging in the balance, a fluffy pupper, competent people who are shown to be good at their jobs. A remake that doesn’t just grimdark everything would be nice. Oh, hey and Mr. Neeson could get a flatulent cameo

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
But also; old fashioned Star Trek. Lower Decks was the one bright spot in the new era but I miss when Star Trek was a carefully crafted drama series about moral aesops and curious questions about the future instead of a caricature of itself trying to be a mid-range action series.
Know what though? Let's bring back Battletech! Anyone remember that? Cartoons aren't just for kids anymore. Such a show would never get the budget for live action but hot damn let's do an animated series about giant robot feudal warfare! We can play it more straight as a political thriller/drama or honestly any number of genres. If 40k can get some animated action that ain't even close to half bad, why not Battletech?

I'd love to see more Space AAB, although I'm not sure what direction I'd prefer it take - go hard on naval aviators in space like it seems was the original idea, or follow all the ground marine stories they wound up doing when they realised they could only afford the CG for the Hammerheads once every five episodes.
You know what'd be great, more Aeon Flux - reboot, reimagine, continue, all three at once, switch it up every episode, whatever. Too many people think Aeon Flux is that movie, and look I love Charlize Theron but no. It feels like lightning in a bottle, but if somebody could pull off a new season - or hell while we're crazy wishlisting, cartoon material but live action and get Charlize back, I'm sure she'd be up for it - that's as anarchic, thoughtful, cavalier, kinky, weird, you-have-no-idea-what's-going-to-happen-next-and-neither-does-the-script-really, that'd be a hell of a thing.
Can we do movies? I want more 2022 Hellraiser. I love the original continuity (for good and ill), I'm happy everyone's getting that game coming up that looks decent, even though I won't be playing it because it's not on the Switch and I wouldn't be able to handle the stress anyway, but good god I need more of Jamie Clayton's Priest and pals.

Secret Galaxy remembers, but unfortunately the BattleTech IP is so fractured that it's unlikely we'll ever see another BattleTech cartoon (or TV series or movie) .

Space AaB was on my mind reading the title of this post.
Other than that I'd like to see the retelling/conclusion to Pirates of Dark Water, or have the production crew that handled The Expanse do a live action take on Exo-squad.
I'd like to see them finish the Sarah Connor Chronicles. I think it was the best take on the Terminator franchise since T2 (not a high bar to clear, admittedly) and seemed to have some good ideas it wanted to explore.
I know Firefly is a popular pick for these questions, but the more I think about the less I like it. Those few episodes were definitely some extremely good TV and the casting was lightning in a bottle. But I do wonder if extending it beyond that would just leave it as another good but not great sci-fi show. If it was to come back it would have to be a continuation. I don't think you can reboot it and get as lucky with the casting twice in a row.

Yeah, it definitely wants to be a continuation instead of a reboot, and with as many of the original cast back as possible... but it would need a good story to tell, because that as much as the cast is what made the original so hard to let go of, even with the movie allowing them to tie up at least some of the loose ends.

I could also go for more Stargate.
Universe was a bold step, but perhaps a smidge too bold, being more BSG Reboot than the action silliness of SG1 and Atlantis. Arguably, I think Universe might’ve done better being released in the modern day, as a more sober look at the underlying themes and potential of the setting. Coming hot on the heels of SG1 and Atlantis? The tonal shift I think was too jarring.

Given the original Airwolf was anti communist propaganda (that i total missed as a kid), I would love to see a MAGA airwolf reboot. Obviously it would horrify many but would again become a wonder crystallisation of a moment in time...

I’d definitely be up for a remade Blakes 7. Granted, it’s not a show I have particular nostalgia for (I’m too young to have seen it on telly, and by the time I was mature enough to understand its themes, it was too old hat for me)
And yeah, giving it the Andor treatment in terms of maturity, subtlety and that would definitely work.
On S:AaB, I think it’s not just nostalgia for a surprisingly well made show. Overall, with the carrier design and mode of warfare portrayed, it offered something other shows weren’t really at the time. And this thread was in part inspired by me watching House of History’s animated WW2 naval videos on YouTube, thinking “boy, I’d love a sci-fi version of that”, and the being reminded of S:AaB. So it’s got some appeal to historical naval engagement fans and that.
Also to a lesser but not minor degree, seeing the New Republic B-Wings just completely annihilating the Naughty Pirates in Skellington Crew. Because despite it being a staple of Rebel strategy and tactics in Star Wars, we’ve genuinely not seen a great deal of fighters smashing up much larger foes.
I’ve high hopes for the announced Rogue Squadron in that regard. And whilst I’ll gladly enjoy any Star Wars, for the wider audience we don’t know if it’ll be an Andor/Skellington Crew, and Ahoska* or an Acolyte in terms of quality and impact.
Also, not everything sci-fi should be left to Star Wars. Got to have competent competition for a healthy market place.
*I separated Ahsoka out, as unlike the other tv shows, you do kinda need to have seen at least Rebels to know who’s who, why they matter and what’s going on. So whilst a pretty decent adventure, it can be offputting to the casual viewer who lacks the background knowledge.

Sapphire and Steel (although hard to replace Joanna Lumley and David McCallum) and Ultraviolet (the British vampire cop show) would be close to the top of my list.
Honestly the more years that pass the more I don't actually want to see a Firefly reboot because we know they won't get the same actors back; in the same roles the same way. They can't just start off from the end of season 1 and continue the story.
Personally I'd welcome new "space cowboys" style scifi. Something new and fresh that can have its own ideas and stories. New plot, new twists, new turns. Perhaps it has aliens too; or perhaps its got something else. etc....
Basically I don't really want a rehash nor a continuation (esp since Serenity already covered probably 2-3 seasons worth of major plot events)
Could something like Allo Allo ever be re-made? I am in two minds as to whether to suggest it to my son. He is older than I was when I first started watching it, but that might actually be worse…
My goodness! The reboot I did not even know I needed!

I would like to see that, alongside Space: 1999. I'd prefer they take the hard sci-fi approach of the first season for the return and they would have to bring back the Eagle, one of the most realistic looking spacecraft in science fiction.
