Thanks again, and if they hadn't already deep bathed in alcohol you'd see my own first attempt s with oils... It was, something...
Now I can't see myself go back to acrylics though, even though I don't paint enough I LOVE playing with oils far too much.
Standard primer for me works perfectly, though if you don't do a zenithal primer, i'd go for white/light colour primer instead of black. I discovered Molotow street paint, they work great and with lots of colours choices.
I use standard white spirits and linseed oil for dilution, though I may not dilute all the time when there is an acrylics base coat, when you blend it smooths out like a glaze, so straight from the tube before spreading it on the mini it is.
For TMM i'm sometimes adding liquin to the metallics colors but it's because those semi-opaque pigments have a weird behaviour I still don't have a good grasp on, these metallics are weirds paints truly... Might invest into enamels metallics when I got money, so I don't have to deal with thoses anymore...
Never got good NMM out of acrylics, but in oil my process would be like anything else, apply the paint with one brush then wet blend it with another brush that stay clear of spirits for the session. Sorry if i'm not clear enough...
Yes it does make sense.
Then I will have to try oils!
I heard good things of Molotow, haven't tried them yet.
Man, I been struggling trying to get smooth nmm transitions. The only reason I want to do it, is to do it well once so I can prove to me self that I hang with the cool kids, and then never do nmm ever again lolz. My pile of shame is just too large for high quality styles, and I want to wrap it up while I got time.
So, maybe oils is what I need.
Question - did you notice significant increase in dry time when using linseed oil or not really? I would assume not really with how little of it used.
I got some home made StandOil that been sitting for over 10 years, its the good stuff.

Well, that mini is getting on my nerves a little bit so, baring any last minutes touch-ups, here is my entry for this month:

@ Mothsniper Yes adding oil will lengthen the drying times: if you add a lot for a glaze for example, the surface might be workable up to around a week I think.

I realize time is short: Here are some possible Space Marines that I could try to paint before the end of the month, though probably only one of them.

So far. The colour I used was supposed to be bone white it is Army painter speed paint Plaid Bone , but it went funny. I think it looks ok , the cracking that occurred has added an interesting texture I guess.
Since I took this picture I have dropped him and broke the sword off the hand. So supergluimg that later. Lol
Great work everyone.

Finally managed to make some progress on the models I started a couple of weeks ago, so here’s the proof:
And the progress:
Power armour - check
Holy bolter - check
Unflinching, zealous destruction of the Holy Emperor’s enemies - check
Sounds like Space Marines to me…

Continuing my ongoing protest against Space Marines...I present some really tiny models of WW2 Allied sailors (so they are in a marine environment...but definitely not in space)
All five are converted with some head swaps, arm and head adjustments, and two have life vests add, etc.
Proof
There are about the size of a penny. But not as small as Vejut's Battletech infantry.

Well...I managed to get it 'finished'...there are no details but the large forms are roughed in....
I went for a Salamanders colour scheme...I had hoped to do some freehand illustrations on the broad panels but ran out of time!
Hopefully, next month I can get a bit ahead of the ball...!
Good luck everyone!
