While more nice models is always nice, the name is a bit dramatic innit? Or do I need to get my cynical hat on and understand that its a direct play for mistaken custom from Reaper Miniatures?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Do we really need more miniatures in an already heavily saturated market?

Other than the fact it's just going to be his name attached to them, I'm not certain what this is going to bring to the market.

There was a Wargames Illustrated article recently that talked about the fact there are too many rulebooks for the same games, I think the same applies to tabletop miniature games.

I also laughed at the name. I hope they all sit down for a nice cuppa and a wee ginger snap or something.

Imagine people bringing out anything to do with the miniatures hobby, then trying to flog it in an already heavily saturated market. Imagine the horror of having choice. Just get rid of it all I say. I think we should prune the hobby down to just Army Painter and Humbrol paints only. We'll let GW carry on making miniatures, as long as they bring back Mordhiem as a classic game only. Airfix used to make some models used for wargaming, so I guess they can keep on going, warlord games and battlefront will have to drop off. Sorry Duncan, your models and paints are too new, as will anyone else that is selling paints.

More choice of miniatures and more competition can only be a good thing!

No, this isn't what I mean by it.

Paint wise there's enough competition to keep it interesting, but minatures wise it seems to be a new lot cropping up on a regular basis. It's that a lot of them tend to be the same or along similar veins. I'm not against choice, but there doesn't feel like there's much differentiation between them all and they become more...niche?

GW shouldn't have the monopoly, OPR has seen to that in most respects. I just feel that miniatures allow for much more creativity, but just always fall into the same, safe categories. The only ones I've truly liked have been from Rumbleslam, simply because there are not that many wrestling games out there so the characters (Bar a few obvious copies from films such as Blade and Guardians of the Galaxy) are quite unique.

Not a fortunate choice for the name, why would you start a brand new miniature range and pick Reaper name.

Presumably because they wanted the company to have Duncan's initials and couldn't think of a more appropriate 'R' word...

Looking at the silhouettes in the video, I would expect a Fantasy game (please be a Mordheim-like game )

Nah, even that is maybe not quite edgy enough Though with an equally dramatic logo...

EDIT: Forgot I actually have a raven in my profile picture here. Well, hey, they're cool birds.

I for one am looking forward to see what Duncan brings out. Hope he does well, it must be tough starting a miniature line at this time. A niche product with a saturated market. When manufacturing was an issue before, now it’s overwhelming stl flood that we see. Hopefully this range stands out.

The name is quite lame though could’ve gone for Double Riddling for maximum edge.

My point exactly, it does seem a little bit of an odd direction mind as I would have thought his bigger market would have been teaching painting. But then this might be Trans Atlantis Games pushing it, unless Death Reaper Games is someone else using Duncan Rhodes to push their product?

Or is a subsidiary of Trans Atlantis Games.....

Now I feel like I'm going down a rabbit hole

I think one of the paints in his range is called Death Reaper too - it may just be something he thinks sounds cool?

I've used reaper, GW, ral partha, and other mini companies for DND. The more, the merrier.

The third mini silhouette from the left looks like an Opera singer holding a wizard's staff or sigil on a stick. Could be a fun mini.

Possibly... but only if he was coming out models specifically designed to work with a line of model dipping wood varnishes like were all the rage 10-15 years ago!

That would be great - that style of game should fit for them and give us something fun to play.

I get it, they've probably got the resources now to branch out and be known for something a bit more than painting. The paints are good, I hope the miniatures are the same.

It's a bog standard knight mini that looks like it came out of the old 80s D&D toy line. I hope they're not going to try and milk every single mini with its own video.

Yeah, he looks like Strongheart without the helmet wings, but you know what? I'm okay with that. I like that he's detailed but not over-designed. He reminds me of a Dungeons & Lasers NPC that would be a fun, relaxing paint.

I can't see going on all-in on a KS, but if the other models are like this, I can easily see myself grabbing a few a la carte. Goes well with the Oldhammer fantasy models I enjoy painting.

Yup, that's the one I was referring to (but couldn't remember his name). Just to be clear (which admittedly might not be the case with my post above), I'm ok with it too. Just okay as in no strong feelings either way. I mainly think this might not have been the best mini to start the previews with as a splashy (overdone IMO) video first impression compared with the other silhouettes.

The logo Lords & Legends looks akin to Lord of the rings logos too.

Cant say I'm digging the logos, names and minis so far.
