Consider yourself extremely lucky to have such friends

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

That is not true at all. Anytime GW wanted to they could dig up the files & go tinkering about.

Normally once they launch a new edition the old one is never mentioned again, barring occasional nostalgia nods when they steal something from the past and update it.
That said, they did bring out Old World, resurrecting WHFB. So I can’t say it will never happen. But unless they release a new-retro edition, people playing older versions should be safe from GW meddling.

Even if they did make changes, they're easy to ignore, and it might bring more people in to playing the older editions, so it would "backfire" in a good way.

Yeah GW absolutely does not want anyone to play an edition they're not selling books for.

Too bad, thanks to eBay, I have a pretty extensive collection of 5th edition books. I have erected a force field around them so they are immune to GW interference.
