yes, but to be fair you are not factoring in the recent rise in metals - especially white metal, currently inflationary pressure on the dollar, the cost of moulds and all the ancillary staff that are employed to make the GW experience a more rounded satisfy hobby. Oh, and not forgetting the cost of models reflects the need for Mr Kirby et al to be smeared in chocolate sauce by women of the rather generously proportioned type.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

I think the price is justified.  That sculpt is, after all, a Porsche.  In the miniatures sense, that is.

Fairness? GeeDub? o_O

But props for the Kirby bash, sadly true I'm sure.

Also, amazing find Gonads, well sleuthed

That's a totally fair price... after all, it accurately reflects the models' relative value on the tabletop, points-wise.

GW's models are filled with a creamy nougat that more than justifies their price.

I like GW's new approach to their price 'adjustments'. Instead of upping the price on all models a buck or five, they're raising the price of one model a lot!

Jeez guys, complain, complain. I'm sure in a couple months you'll be able to get it on eBay or Bartertown for no more than $7000.

Just think, though, people... all they need to do is sell one model, and they'll make their profit margin for March.

Heck, the way things have been, maybe they'll realize their profit margin for the whole year...

The funny thing is, by the time I read this thread the price was at $17 and I assumed you were all crabbing about that.  Which I guess goes to show you how predictable Dakka is with regards to prices.

The Baal Predator's price went up $20 over the weekend. I thought it might be a mistake, but its still there this morning.

The Website is incorrect. The Baal Predator is still 45.00.

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

Hello everyone:

In reference to this thread. Sorry for the confusing information on the web site/online store. We believe we have all of them straightened out now. In regards to the Baal Predator, the actual correct price is indeed $45.00.

Thanks for alerting us to the mistakes. If you spot anything else which looks out of whack please contact us at:

$17 for a single power-armored model.  Does anybody actually buy those?

It might as well be $9999.99 as far as I'm concerned.  Maybe my taste in miniatures isn't refined enough, but that doesn't look like a $17 model to me.

How do you think when I went to buy Eldrad and found out that he was $20?

It use to be that E-bay was good for buying expensive items because of the savings that were found covered the shipping costs.

Now that blisters are getting into the $15+ range, it makes them more attractive for e-bayers.

I can hear Dakka Chief Mouthbreather General Hobbs now: "Hurrr! All you whiney babies! Shaddup and qwit yer bichin an go play a real expensive hobbie, lik golf! Hurrr! How you lik me now?!?!? Hurf hurf hurf!"

I have to admit, I am soooo glad I got my old school DA character figs (namely Azrael, Ezekial and Asmodai) way back when they were reasonably priced and I feel terribly sorry for newcomers that purchase single figures at those ridiculous prices just to get a decently sculpted figure. I guarantee that thanks to such predatory pricing recasts are going to proliferate even further. Only in Games Workshop's mind does it make sense to raise prices while suffering the greatest loss of revenue & profit in the company's history.
